Rubinstein understood Chopin like no other pianist. He saw well beyond the composer of delicate, rather difficult salon music played by talented young girls. He stressed the strength, virility and incredible sadness in Chopin's music. Does it take a Pole to know Chopin? I have Polish blood but can't play his music half as good... lol ;-)

i don't see how one pianist that's younger than him can understand it more than he does, since he has lived during the golden years. we live in a facebook age
