Just recently where I live here a man faced charges for stealing a block of cheese it was worth 5 dollars he said he stole it because he only had enough money for bread and nothing else, the man was fined $1,500 dollars and had no previous conviction yet on the same day the same judge convicted another man who stole some ones motor car and trashed the car never received a fine and only got community service! That's a true story and I think it's a terrible thing that yet STILL after 300 years it
@willowbI - I wouldnt pay the fine out of principal and go to prison, where do they get off treating ordaniry people like that? Yet when its a footballer or other famous personality all the concessions are showed to them, the authority's can be disgusting.
What's the old saying, the law is an ass! Not my words.
15 shillings a bushel?. That in today's money would be the equivalent of 2 years wages, no wonder they rioted.

In my view, if one genuinely cannot aford to feed ones own family, then I see nothing wrong in `stealing.`
