The Aquabats have always been foremost inspired by comics and cartoons, but their humor is very tongue-in-cheek: they know they're goofy and dorky, so they have fun with it and make songs like this. On the other hand, they also have a lot of songs which are straight punk rock. They try to appeal to everyone.
