It goes without saying that between the cool music and video that this is a great montage. THX Anna for the time and effort you put into even after all these years...
Why does it matter? Also, it's not as easy as you probably think. Being an Army pilot ALONE requires constant work, integrity, education, and absolutely most positively commitment. Oh and, just remember..not everybody gets to be an Army pilot/MedEvac pilot. So have a plan B.
Do air ambulance companies get along with one another or is there constant competition? I saw some CalStar helicopters in the video and I was wondering if it was mutual amongst flight nurses/paramedics or if there is a high level of competition.
There is some competition but its all friendly. I'm a flight medic with Air Evac Lifeteam in Springdale, AR. Theres is another air ambulance company (EagleMed) based at the airport here, we would be overworked and overstressed if they weren't there to pick up some of the calls. Once again, there is a little competition, but it never gets hostile.
I work for medi-flight, and I can tell you there is definitely competition. Although, it is the same competition that is between police and fire. It's all in good fun, usually (hopefully) never hostile.
We share the same five-county area with PHI / Air Medical, and while we always fight over flights, we sometimes end up backing each other up on big calls that require more than one air ambulance.
We just have to remember that we are all on the same team, and that team is to save lives.
Really awesome video. These helicopters save many people's lives. Too bad you guys had to get rid of the helicopter that loaded and unloaded from the back. That was one sweet helicopter. Good job once again.
