@elitept -- We sadly don't have any longer lectures, but our colleagues at the Wellcome Trust have a longer podcast with Dr Lane. There's a link to the podcast in the Description under the video above. Enjoy!
excellent. His book, 'Power,Sex ,Suicide' -Mitochondria and the Meaning of Life, goes into great detail on this subject. Mitochondria are obviously not just 'batteries'.

A shameful attempt to highjack the endosymbiotic theory If plagiarism is the discussion of others work as if it your own, without reference, then here we have a prime example.
Where do you get 'as your own' from? There's no hint here that any of this is to be taken as his own work, it's just an introduction to the basic ideas.
Very interesting!!

Excellent questions to ask, and a very good mind to attempt to syllogise current frontier reseach in order to move forward.
Frank quietly should stop cheap sniping and make some positive contribution. Quietly , frank.

It's the way he describes it, too many 'I think's'. Would have been fairer to discuss what WE think!
