Obama's problem with repainting McCain is

1) McCain is old.

2) McCain is well known by the public.

McCain comes off as the down-to-Earth guy in his town-hall meetings, and recasting him as an elitist is going to be a monumental task.

I seriously think McCain is going to win this back and forth provided he replies swiftly.

McCain is not known to be "swift" in his replies, unless you mean swift boating. It won't be hard to paint him as an elitist. He is work about $100 million, he wears $500 shoes, he has 9 properties worth $13 million, he uses a corporate jet, and he has a black centurion card which is reserved for those who spend over $250,000 a year. He also dumped his crippled wife for a bona fide sugar mommy. And he's telling Americans that the recession is "psychological" and to get second jobs.

McCain thinks "rich" starts at 5 mill and those making 250K to 5 mil should continue having a huge tax break that is driving our country deep into debt and saddling our kids with HIGHER TAXES in the future.

He has SEVEN homes and doesn't know it!

The point is that he is WAY out of touch with the people he wants to lead.

A gaff is a gaff, and the comparison stands. Which gaff is worse; forgetting how many houses you own or forgetting how many states are in the union? If I were McCain I would make a simple commercial that compared the two.

I'm not sure which clip of the 5 million statements you watched, but if you watch the entire statement you'll see that McCain was joking. His point was that if your family is healthy and happy then you are rich.
