  • what's Captain Planet and Sailor Moon?

    i'm just a teenager, so i don't know.

but i still watch Gargoyles and stuff like it all the time, so don't let those guys get you down.

i was, and still aint', into all that girly-girl crap that they showed like dora and my little pony's, wich, i'm sure, my nice will watch 24/7 when she's a little older...

    :(

  • Finally, I can see Gargoyles again :D

  • It's over 9000000

  • I only c one sister... Are there more?

  • I have to say it shocks me reading some of the comments on this page that show there are people who can't see the difference in quality between crappy cartoons like Pinky and the Brain,Tiny Toon Adventures etc. and the high quality Gargoyles! For the animation of Gargoyles to work this well it HAD to have great story, great storytelling and many people don't seem to know what that is!!

  • @jonhayashi1 Actually, cartoons like Pinky & the Brain, Tiny Toons, Animainiacs....all of those were considered to be quite clever, and themselves riddled with some very "risque" material at the time.

I would not put them on the same intellectual level as Gargoyles, but those cartoons, were, in their own right, clever and well played. Certainly more so than shit like Spongebob and Phineas & Ferb

  • @AndrewDeLong Well you have the right to your opinion but to me the cartoons that are poor and trite in the 1990's now seem good to a lot of people in comparison to many cartoons in the 21st century! So maybe Spongebob, Phineas & Ferb and Family Guy, which I dislike, will seem very good to people 10 to 20 years from now! Maybe I should not have a tv set when that happens!! For me the old Looney Tunes had much more likeable character and wit then Tiny Toons!

  • Gargoyles was a cool show and much, much better than Fantasia 2000, the poorly conceived sequel to the 1940 Fantasia classic!! Notice how much Goliath bears a resemblance to Chernobog the devil from Night on Bald Mountain! Walt Disney was originally a daring filmmaker which can be seen in the 1940 Fantasia! Eisner and Bob Iger watered that down! To see the influence on my hand drawn animation watch THE BLACK WIDOW, BALDER'S EGG, etc. on my channel page on you tube. They have fantasycreatures!

  • Amazing show, then and still now. Thanks for uploading these. Been watching them all whenever I have spare time. I still have the original VHS tapes with the "interactive" game at the end.

  • there is actually blood in this!? *falls over*

  • this shit was ahead of its time

  • @305MANKILLA it truly was. disney back then were so on their game. we had it the best.

  • I was missing this show so I'm gonna watch the whole series... lol...

  • all these years later and i still love this show.

  • this is my fourth time starting this show its just to good to let go i looooooooooooooove it

  • One of the best shows in existence!!

  • Holy crap one of the gargoyles has the voice of patrick star!

  • damn that was my good old childhood animation show. i loved this series becuz the style of animation, the characters and didnt care of the story what i liked is theyr action. loved this serie i like it

  • they need to make this show into a movie. Thumbs up if you agree!

  • Im watching this for the first time.

  • I love this how, and i recently found an old one called Inhumanoids, check it out

  • I miss all the shows I use to watch when I was little. Ah... The 90s.

  • cool dude

  • I just finished watching all seasons this morning. I went to work and did my shift and now I'm starting Season 1 again, I wish Gargoyles were real and that Disney would release the dvds in more regions. Might just have to get a region free player!

  • When I was little, somebody gave me all of The Awakenings episodes (which, together, are called The Heros Awaken, by the way). I watched it practically until my eyes bled. Then, just about a year ago (I'm 14 now), I realized that the story couldn't end there. There had to be more. So I looked it up on YouTube. And here I am, a year later, watching it again for the umpteenth time, and clutching my recently purchased copy of Gargoyles: Clan-building Volume 1. Gargoyles have saved my sanity.

  • I miss this show

  • Thumbs up if you think the blue-haired detective is hot.

  • is it jus me or does this seem more badass when your older?

  • Love this show. Miss the amazing-ness that is shows from the past they had so much more to them then shows today.

  • Thumbs up if your watching this again because of the nostalgia critic.

  • @metazoxan2 fuck, you got me lol

  • kids tv shows today are so crap. they need to watch things that stir the imagination not something that is almst real life. i say they should bring back some shows of the 90s like talespin, pinky and the brain, gargoyles, digimon, loney toons and all those other great shows that make no real sense but are amazing to watch :)

  • No one voices villains like Clancy Brown.

  • @MandibleMuge damn right!, though you have to admit frakes made xanatos a close runner up

  • This and Duck Tales were the best cartoons of my youth. Hate on Disney all you want, but they made some quality TV back in the day.

  • Did the other cartoons from the time have characters getting killed? I remember prince Valiant, in each episode at least one person was killed. Or were they gutless like godzilla the series? Seriously, its a good show but every time a tank/chopper gets destroyed it is ABSOLUTELY NESSESSARY to show that the pilots made out okay. Im not glorifying cartoon violence, Im not a sick sadist, but too much is too much.

If anyone can answer me, please, reply

  • @IceCold11235 It really depends on the level the cartoon was at. Gargoyles here only killed a character when it was necessary to the advancement of the plot, and I would hope Prince Valiant did the same. The rule of thumb was, if it would advance the story, then kill a character, otherwise, there's no need to draw unneeded attention to crusading mothers by killing no-names characters in what THEY might see as mindless violence.

Hypersensitive mothers (soccer moms) tend to do that.

  • 7:22 Demonas got the crush on Hakon.

  • They should remake this show on HBO R-Rated and serious as hell.

  • Have you been paying attention, dude? People get hit by boulders, that thug Goliath shoves falls from at least 50 feet, NOT to mention the guy that gets thrown from a TOWER! At least 10 people get killed in the siege!

  • I wonder if that gargoyle at 4:50 was Brooklyn's father?

  • @MarcusSLazarus

I wondered the same thing... They do definitely look very alike.

  • jst downloaded the entire series....I LOVE THE INTERNET!!!!

  • You have to admire a man who's more intimidating than a catapult

  • 2:45 Seems a lot of Clancy Brown voiced characters have there sanity questioned.

"So, think I'm going crazy do ye?"

"No sir, we don't think that at all!"

    "I think that."

  • i am ashamed to be a 16 year old and only just started to watch this. grrr.

  • omg when the sword hit goliaths hand and blood came out. I couldnt believe it was on disney... DISNEY WAS BAD ASS BACK THEN! That is the kind of stuff they need these days. Not the shit they have now...

  • I don't think I'm the only girl here that watched this cartoon, too, when I was little! (A lot of the girls in my class thought I was weird because I watched Batman and the Gargoyles cartoons when I was little, instead of the girly cartoons. One exception to that was Sailor Moon... I didn't hang around the other girls in my class, either...)

  • @Okamidachisan not to worry, you're not alone. :)

  • @Okamidachisan skip thos girls, i'm 20 and i still love this show. i used with watch with cousins (boys and girls)and my mom. now i try to stay up til 3 in the a.m to watch but this is better. btw sailormoon, and batman were awesome too.

  • @Okamidachisan lol you're not the only one. A lot of my friends picked on me for it, then after it was cancelled I met a lot of other girls who watched it too!

  • @Okamidachisan I feel your pain, girl. Those other girls just didn't have the 'nads to handle the awesomeness

  • @Okamidachisan didnt watch this as a kid then saw a fan video with a werewolf and I was like FUCK YES

  • @Okamidachisan I watched Batman and Gargoyles too. :)

  • @Okamidachisan

Ha. I watched all sorts. From Captain Planet to Sailor Moon. Basically, ANYTHING to keep me occupied on Sunday/Saturday mornings instead off getting off my lazy ass to "exercise" in the playgrounds. Those "exercise" sessions were saved for when my buddies and I were skipping school on lazy Monday mornings. HAHA!

  • @Okamidachisan u know what i wach batman and gargoyles to when i was younger and i still do and i'm 19 soo.. dont let them get youu down

  • i love Gargoyles but like, attack the castle around 10 am or something. They'dve been good to go

  • I am Commander Shepard, and Captain Anderson is my favourite Gargoyle in the Citadel.

  • lol is it wrong i had a crush on the gargoyles when i was little

  • This Show never gets old! I love watching it! and re-watching it over and over again lol

  • Goliath is one impressive gargoyle. Sweet job downloading this.

  • I keep hearing Mr. Krabs all over the place in this XD

  • 'Watch your back, Master Chief, oh, I mean, Shepard, oh wait, uh, Hudson, shit, soon to be called Hudson."

  • @maximaldinotrap if u mean tha Mighty Morphin ones then shit yea they are lol

  • @kbm515 Those-are-the-ones-I-am-referring-to.

  • Goliath

    Is

    Arbiter

    lol.

  • "You are tresspassing..." Epic quote.

  • Growing up in the 90s was awesome. Hahaha Back when cartoons could be dark and scary or have suggestive adult themes but nobody cared. XD Now it's just… bad. sigh… I miss this stuff.

  • For an animated cartoon of the 90s, the animation is /very/ impressive.

  • @Hidethegames ya, i think that back then, they took some pride in their work. nowadays, the animation is garbage for most shows. not all, but most

  • I used to watch this when i was 5/6 with my dad. . it was our favorite show! hha mom kept telling dad i shouldn't be watching these kind of shows . . .oh silly mom

  • Gargoyles bleed? How can stone bleed?

  • @martythetickler they are only stone by day....which they clearly explain in the intro...DERP

  • @gmr234 I'm aware of that, but I thought they were stone at night as well.

  • @martythetickler ...why on earth would you think that? its pretty obvious that they arent made of stone...considering every time they wake up the stone shatters from their body :|

  • @gmr234 They could have had a second layer of stone under the layer that breaks up. Remember the Gargoyles in Hunchback of Notre Dame? They were stone when asleep and when awake. I merely thought that same rule would apply to these Gargoyles.

  • @martythetickler nope. flesh by night, stone by day.

  • ah i used to have the "movie" version of the 1st batch of episodes :D God i miss my childhood T_T

  • Yall know whats eunieu? This WHOLE show is "DAVID VS GOLIATH" Because Xanatos first name is David, but in this tha monster is good lol. I feel sorry for these kids today because they have those sucky cartoons and now the boys wear clothes tighter than the women *smh*

  • @kbm515 even power rangers is better than the shows on now lol.
  • 20 years ago, awesomeness and intelligence ruled.

It was a time of greatness, it was a world of enjoyment.

It was the age of the 90's.

Great cartoons in the morning, greater cartoons by night. They were betrayed by the channels we once called friends, forced to endure unintelligent drivel for 20 years.

    Now they are on YouTube.

The era of stupidity has ended.

    And they broadcast again!

They are defenders of quality kid's shows.

    They are Gargoyles!

  • @TheJboy88 Ha. Great stuff man.(≧ ∇ ≦)

Now go fulfill your destiny and write poetry, you'd make decent dough.

  • 7:09_I'd run

  • @TheJboy88 love love love!! Laughed out loud for a good 5 minutes. so much truth, so much truth.

  • @TheJboy88 LMAO XD!! !SO TRUE

  • @TheJboy88 hell yeah!

  • @TheJboy88

DUDE! you so speak the truth like a legend even if you were joking! thumb him up guys! keep it up there so that everyone can see!

  • @TheJboy88 Speak the truth!!!

  • @TheJboy88 Nive one.

  • @TheJboy88 Swwet work there bro. and you speak the truth, let your words shine and show others just what true cartoons are

  • @TheJboy88 Your comment. <3

  • @TheJboy88 yeah...shut up.

  • @TheJboy88 That is so EPIC WINNING!

  • @TheJboy88 Dear sir or madam. Take my internets. Please. You can do so much more with them than I ever could dream of.

  • @TheJboy88 If I had the time, I would construct a large shrine in your honor. Unfortunately, I'm to busy watching Gargoyles and Batman :D

  • @TheJboy88 Yes but the rapping was horrible.

  • @TheJboy88 Good sir, I would procure for you a medal, had I the time. But alas, I am stuck. Watching Gargoyles.

*Note: I use "alas" and "stuck" sarcastically, as I, in no way, mean to use them in the negative context here*

  • @TheJboy88 OMG, that was 20 years ago already? D: I swear 1994 (and 5th grade) was yesterday.

  • @Finitivus Or worse...M. Night Shyma-whatever

  • Hilarious!!! He stopped eatun n whacked the guy with the chicken leg then kept eatun!

  • I like the rust colored one with the horns that curve under his ears.

  • That taxi driver hit the jackpot getting his car wrecked by Xanatos, likely got payed a ton as part of the reparations. "Should have know better than to put some ancient castle on top of a skyscraper" the lawyers will say.

  • the girl gargoyle always reminded me of a vampire and the main guy gargoyle reminds me of the Beast from Beauty and the Beast. lol

  • @HopeIsForAll omg sames !!!

  • omg i remember this show! I used to watch it all the time! I love the romance in this show

  • Is it me or does the opening few second sound like there is an artillery garrage going on?

  • Goliath,Captain Anderson from mass effect = Keith David

  • @yelladong3 This was a time of epic animation in the US.

  • Go 90's TV!

  • @XxHellsingrulzxX Even with repeated animation sequences, the animation in this show is WAY better than anything else on the air today! And the storytelling is PHENOMENAL!!

  • @XxHellsingrulzxX wow thats completly trueeeeeeeeeeeeee:)))) lol

  • WTF

  • you are trespassing

  • They may not be invincible, but it is harder to kill them than humans.

  • they made the first few episodes into a movie. So basically it's just episodes 1 - 5.

  • I think there should be a film. That would be so bad ass =)

  • I LOVE Goliath's voice!

  • Goliath and Grimace, the only 2 purple guys I liked from the 90's.

  • i had a dream that i was a gargoyle and am fraid of hieghts but i luved flying through the air and saving people

  • @messycumshot that's a surprisingly touching story from an internet handle like messy cumshot

  • This was the BEST!!

Not even in Spider-Man the Animated Series they allow the sight of blood. Poor Goliath though, that's has got to hurt!

  • i would do all the gargoyles

  • My dad gave me the dvd of this cartoon 2 yrs ago and insently i loved it i have got every one i watch them all the time it`s more then a cartoon my dad says its a soap for guys it`s a story where you wait to see what happens next not random shyt. btw i now know why our dog`s name is bronx

  • @Finitivus I agree with you all the way 'takes a deep brathe' RRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Finitivus there are rumors that there is going to be a remake of TMNT and micheal bay will be the dictetor for it.

  • if they make a live action movie would want speilberg to make this instead of micheal bay,

  • LOVED THIS SHOW!!!!

  • This was hands down my fav show as a kid.

  • I LOVED THIS SHOW!! I use to watch it every week with my dad!! i hope i can get this on dvd!!! :D:D:D:D:D

  • seeing this reminds me of a funny situation... two years ago, i got to know a poor person, who did not see any TV during childhood... so he didn't know this great show, only that creepy-nonsense stuff, that's named as "cartoon" today... so, one weekend, we watched gargoyles and many other great disney-cartoons (like darkwing duck, funny, but not as cool as this), and so that person got to know, that disney did well in the past... he just said: "What? This cool stuff is from disneyy??"

  • Ya know if they were to bring back gargoyles they would probably make a movie. I think the trailer would be the opening of gargoyles, but the thing is the whole series would´nt be able to fit in one movie I think it would fit in atleast 4 movies cuz you really wanna put in all the juicy parts of the series and when Elisa turns into a gargoyle herself ya know what I mean but really my childhood was Gargoyles,Talespin,Swat Cats,Chip n´Dale, etc.

But I think we all miss Gargoyles....

  • I had never watched Gargoyles before (my childhood was Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers, Gummi Bears, Tale Spin, Aladdin, Darkwing Duck...but I had never watched Gargoyles.) The scene at 4:18 immediately reminded me of MediEvil 2 (but I doubt that anyone here knows what that is, I'm referring to the starting cutscene when Palethorn uses a spell from Zarok's book and you can see a gargoyle similar to those here coming to life). It seems to be quite a good show.

  • I love this show brings back memories

  • Broadway's voice sounds a lot like Patrick's...I think Bill Fagerbakke voiced both of them. Loved and still love this show!

  • head gargole is my fav.

  • Nostalgia boner..

  • GARGOYLES! :DDDD

  • i can admit this was a good show, but could only have been better if they bumped the rating one level. the gargoyles are big scary flying monsters with fangs and claws but dont use them on anything thats living. its like in the 90's xmen when wolverine would pop the claws and then just tackle sabertooth, roll off him and pop em again. in this episode the gargoyles never "hit" anybody with weapons, or maul anyone. just drop em in bails of hay. is a drop of blood too much to ask? in a war?

  • @memberjacket

Personally, I'm happy with how it turned out. How else are you going to get darker, more intelligent shows to children? If every show I watched as a kid was like the Smurfs, I probably would have drowned in sugar by now. And besides, the violence isn't the point anyway. It's the plot that matters, and this show does it well.

  • @memberjacket If it's a drop of blood you want, see 4:25

  • It saddens me to see this amazing show and realize it aired on Disney Channel... and compare it to the current Disney channel... and the crap that's currently airing on it. What's worse, when they finally have ONE good show - Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Superheroes, and STOP SHOWING IT. Fail.

  • Comment removed

  • toon disney havent seen that in forever haha when disney was actually just toons not these insane n more reality like ones =/. oh the times have gone

  • The part 0:05 looked like megatron XD.

  • this is the only show that can compete with anime...AND WIN!

  • I mother flippin love this...when im old enough to get a job,Im going to make a show that combines, orignal developed stories, mature tone and atmosphere balanced with some humor and well written comedy and well done action as well...and the animation and music will finish it off, and i will say disney channel needs to see this

  • This is my sh*t!!!

  • this show was my childhood

  • This should have a live action remake. I stand by this.

  • ahhh the good old days back in the 90s when cartoon where cool and base on strong story telling with morality tales and a touch of humor to lighten up the dark parts of the story

  • ahhh 90s :)

  • Haaaaaaa..... the good days....

  • one of the best animated series ever disney afternoon rocked

  • for awhile they were going to revive the show, it didn't happen :(

  • I remember this when this was a movie.

  • Used to watch this a s a kid and still today I enjoy it. They don,t make show like this anymore, something that yes its for kids but something to still watch and enjoy as an adult.

  • ... what the hell was I doing last year? The entire series was on You Tube and I was staying up until 3 in the morning to watch this! Oh well, tired as I was the next day it was well worth it! :D

  • thank god they made shows like this. if not there would not be a TV in almost every home

  • so Gargoyles are Americans!

  • thumbs up for the hot detective

  • They should make this into a movie.

  • @aKaBabyJesus

Agree, but only if they can find good actors to play the part and NOT F it up

  • They should make a movie based on this show.

  • I never grew up with this because it stopped airing before my time, but I am SO glad I found it. It's incomparable to any of today's shitty cartoons. I could watch this and X-Men all day.

  • I remember this from when I was a kid... But there's one thing I never understood:Why do they wear theire wings like a cloak?

  • @Poodleinacan

They usually have their wings like that to move around easier in most inclose areas, other times it's just to have 'em out of the way. But that's just the way I see it

  • @Poodleinacan I...have no idea. But it looks so epically cool 8D

  • Anyone think that Elisa looks a hell of a lot like Misato from Evangelion?

  • This show is the bomb!!!!

  • thank you so much for posting this! it's been YEARS since I've seen this show

  • One gargoyle has an inner Patrick Star…

  • I knew I should have subscribed to Toon Disney
