  • is their any star wars screensavers for the kindle or nook please somebody tell me if their is or not

  • kindle all the way

  • after going back and forth, i finally bought the nook today, i really like the color screen and is cheaper!

  • I will probably get what is cheaper on Amazon.com. After all, I do receive Amazon gift certificates.

Right now, I do not care whether I may buy Kindle or Nook. Whatever is better for my personal desires/needs, I'll get that.

  • NOOK is way better! The kindle is slow, no apps, and all reading. sound boring

  • KINDLE RULESS!!!

  • dude... that incoherant mumbling is seriously annoying. U SUCK!!! ur review did nothing to address our concerns.

  • why bother wasting another $100 on a nook if you already have a kindle?

  • This comparison didn't address my concerns with either of these devices. You could have used some notes to prevent the incoherent rambling.

  • I CANT EVEN USE ALL THAT STUFF THATS ON THERE I BOUGHT EMATIC 104 AND LOVE IT. GLAD THEY RE NOT THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN.

  • nook all the way ya buddy

  • I want kindle for christmas

  • Nook sucks. Kindle is winner hands down

  • I'm glad i got the Kindle (4)

the kindle is quick and simple, it's straight to the point

up and down arrows to find your books

left and right arrows for more options on selected book

up and down arrows to define words

it's pretty self explanatory, and you pick up and read

the nook just appears to be extremely clumsy, especially navigation

the lagging and the touch screen of this thing will drive me nuts

    it's full of frustration!

and how many clicks does it take to define a word?

  • SO WHICH IS BETTER?

  • @CallieandAllieshow1 the nook is way better

  • I really wanted to ask that I have a lot of books in my pc and I have been reading on my laptop for a while, now my Uncle is getting me a Kindle or Nook etc , can I transfer the epub or pdf files from my pc to any of these readers? I mean will I be able to read the stuff I downloaded on my pc a good while ago...

  • nook rules!!!!!!

  • Can you read kindle books on the nook?

  • Kindle!

  • umm... just saying, you can power down the kindle completely. you just hold the switch for longer. when it has a picture on the front it is in sleep mode, but when you fully power it down it is blank. Kindle all the way!!

  • Question. I have some electronic books in my PC computer in .pdf format. Can I upload those books to these e-readers without buying them again??? Witch one does work that way or witch one does work better??? Any limitation?? thanks in advance

  • @augustochamo i actually wanted to know the same thing.. i want to know if i can download ebooks or whatever from other sources other than Amazon and still download it to the Kindle........ i need to buy the K or the N soon cuz i want etext books for school.

    hheeelllpppp

  • @TechWHAM ok but I decided to buy kindle but I am worried

about if free 3g will work in my country Egypt or not

but I will buy it :)

  • @khaledElmetwally - There's a detailed map at Amazon.com that shows their coverage

  • @TechWHAM can you give me the link

  • @khaledElmetwally I really think that Nook is better because it does have more RAM memory, has better organization of apps, etc. Plus, it's cheaper than Kindle Fire.

  • @khaledElmetwally hey bro go ahead an order an attena attachment they have them for ipones ect...it will give you way way faster speen you plug it in the headphone jack...im sure it will work in the dessert =)

  • ok i have a couple questions..im a big book nerd.. i love how the kindle is..but...i heard one u can share the books between ur devices and what are the pay options on the kindle.. can someone break all that down for me..private message me bc i never know when someone has responded to me.. i dont want to knwo about the screen just the money part and stuff

  • @xaustynsmommyx - On TechWham.com I have a detailed blog post on how to swap books between kindle devices, and another post on how to read certain library books on the Kindle as well...etc. You may want to check it out.

    -Jeff

  • I love your review, one of the best so informative and ur not biased at all which i love...i'm totally getting the nook though because i need my magazines in color.... but for a split second i was about to go kindle because the screen resolution looks exactly like the page of a book. thanks for making my decision a lot easier :)

  • Kindle all the Wayyy!!!(: -3

  • I prefer the nook color over anything. Like or comment back to me and tell me what u think. I'm curious to c what everyone else thinks

  • please answer

i wanna buy e-reader which is the best

    where can i buy

and if i wanna read in the darkness ??

    answeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer

  • @khaledElmetwally if u want in the darkness these dont support that .........just get and ipad

  • @khaledElmetwally- If you are reading in the dark, you need a light for both the Kindle and Nook. I used to use my camping head lamp, but now I have the Kindle lighted cover which is a pretty nice cover, with a retractable light built in.

There are similar options for the Nook.

If using a light completely turns you off, then you need a back-lit device, like a Nook Color, or an IPad.

  • @khaledElmetwally Both will read in the dark, Nook is heavier, Kindle reads like paper with a new digitilization, I prefer the Kindle, its awesome! And less expensive...AND the original...AND is controlled by amazon in which MILLIONS of books to download. Theres literally endless free ones at that!

  • Very good review. From Uruguay.

  • i have a question....whats wrong with just buying the good old paperback?!!??!

u can buy like 15 books just for the price it takes to buy the kindle....ill never get an e reader unless its my only option and the only way to read in the future

  • @kevdawg55 Paperbacks require paper, in other words trees, lets help to keep trees alive. Also it helps for storage if you dond have space for a nice library this is a great choice.

  • @kevdawg55 Books are MUCH cheaper on the Kindle, 99c a book vs $15, $10, or even $20 for just one book. Just you get a lot more for a better price.

  • @KaraandHannahFilms yes thats AFTER you pay 150$ for it......so its not that lopsided

  • @kevdawg55 150 Dollars and that's about it.

  • @kevdawg55 portability of thousands of books, Easy reading of PDF's.

  • @kevdawg55 idk about u..but i like to read and re-read things.. and carrying around a lot of books or keeping them just to clutter the place.. makes me have anxiety loll..im very ocd..and save the trees man..we dont need anything more to make this earth cease to exist than whats happening to it now

  • @xaustynsmommyx i just dont agrre with paying 100 plus dollars for conveinance....u could get a bunch of books for the price of the nook! idk im not completely oppesed to them, but i wont get one unless i have no other option...and as for the trees....cmon dude....trees can be planted and replanted. they come from seeds just like vegtables....and id say more vegtables are bought then books. bottom line there are BILLIONS of books, textbooks, manuals.....BILLIONS and i still see trees everywhere.

  • Kindle for life!!!

  • Just a tip, put your books and games and different stuff in collections so there is only one page on the home screen.

  • Kindle 3 all the way. No backlit screen to suck up the battery. If you want to read at night, us a regular clip on book light. Works great.

As for paying for books on the Kindle, it's easy. When you register it and set up your Amazon account, set up the one click pay option. Simply register you credit card with Amazon, and when you see a book you want to download, just select "one click purchase" and you will have the book in 60 seconds or less, and the charge goes automatically to your card

  • @nkavanau1 Thanks for responding...good answer!

  • I have a question, how do I pay for the eBooks ? Can you buy them on the Kindle ?

    Please reply

  • Nice review and information, few questions:

How much built in storage room is there in both?

Which one has a better browser?

Does the nook also support comics?

Does the dictionaire mode come in handy?

    keep up the nice work!!

    Greetz

  • blah too much talking. do either one of these ebooks have a light up screen? i want to be able to read in the dark.

  • @maryammalek92 Really? I wouldn't dare answer your question now...I may use too much writing.

  • Thank you. A very comprehensive and informative review.

Extremely helpful to me as I consider taking the step from paper to e-books.

  • i prefer the kindle.

  • don't get a nook the touchscreens get damaged will under heat

I have the first gen kindle dx and I haven't had a problem with it except that it was stolen but i got anew one like asap from amazon

  • Thanks for doing the video. Im thinking of getting a Kindle, so this has been very helpful.

  • Can you do a library download on both of these

  • Can you show both downloading books from a library I hear only nook does this

  • @flipoutuhhuh kindle does it only faster and better

  • Nook and you talk way too much make it short and to the point

  • @flipoutuhhuh Thanks flip!!

  • Kindle rocks!!!!!

  • Where did you get the white back on the nook?

  • I think kindle 3 is way better than the barnes and noble nook on kindle you can buy books on amazon and ten they are delivery directly to your kindle 3 nook you have to enter your credit card information every time so I you want a good e reader buy kindle 3 not nook

  • the nook sux

  • u can delete stuff straight from the kindle on nook u can not

  • Kindle still hasn't got the real physical book number thing sorted out. They say they implemented it on the Kindle gen 3 but not for all books. That's a deal breaker for me ;-( If they get that right, I'll buy one today!!!

  • @knuddel123 - The page numbers aren't figured out for either the Nook or Kindle....sure they both have the ability, but you'll get 3 page 12's then 2 page 13's etc depending on the font you choose to read at!

I like to argue with my friends about the importance (or lack thereof) of page numbers. Unless I'm in a book club and want to point people to a certain passage, I could care less. Just my opinion of course :)

  • @knuddel123

ive gotten used to not actual page number as it is easy to work out how many pages are left

also it tell you a percent with is as good if not better

  • The downside of the Nook is that you have to have the NookStudy app for e-textbooks and something happened to mine and I could not access my e-texbooks.

  • I would think the downside with a Touchdown is it is getting greasy and what not, where you would read your book.

  • just bought the Kindle and I love it nothing complicated just a great ereader so if your purpose is to simply read Kindle is for you if you want apps, and all those fancy things buy an ipad lol happy reading :)

  • @ithinkilovehim81 - Yeah, for straight reading only, it's pretty perfect!

  • Has anyone had difficulty reading either of these devices in a low light setting?

  • @trumpet9312 - These are both impossible to read in the dark without external lights. I personally use a camping headlamp, but my wife uses an attachable adjustable light on her Kindle.

  • I agree on the need for the Nook to show the rating. Do you plan to use both readers...I personally wish I had more than one.

  • @InsightCreationz - The Nook, honestly, is my second choice...but I use it when I want to check out a library book.

  • @TechWHAM :P sold my Nook for my K3 and will never look back. The screen is hands down the winner on the K3. If anyone is debating, get rid of the bells and whistles for the best ebook reader out there, the K3. So happy...!

  • I'm trying to decide on what ereader to get, and I'm between these two. I'm wondering what your opinion is on Kindle being unable to use ebooks that aren't from Amazon compared to the Nook which uses EPUB files and can download books from multiple sellers. Other reviewers claim you can use Calibre to change non-Amazon files for Kindle...is this a viable option?

  • @luckyjo03 - Yes, you can download Calibre and convert any file into a file that's readable on the Kindle. However, you can't do this with EPUB library books. There is a way, explained on my website, that you can read MobiPocket files on the Kindle...So what? Well, some libraries have Mobi Pocket files for about 20% of their ebooks.

  • My book is better.

  • @OmegaSniper57 - Lol. There's nothing wrong with a good old fashioned book.

  • Your welcome! Both the Nook and Kindle have the E-Ink screens which are easy to read in direct sunlight. I have another video on the website showing the back lit screens compared to the E-Ink screens in direct sunlight also. You can see clearly that it's VERY hard to read with the back-lit, and the Nook and Kindle look fine in the sunlight with no reflections.

  • thank you for this video its helped alot but im getting readdy to make my decision in the next week or so and i was wondering does the nook have the same type of screen as the kindle where you can read in direct sunlight and which do you recomend
