  • where can i buy them, i need them now!

  • Where can I buy this?

  • This is nice. I wouldn't use it for sound-proofing, but it's certainly better at dampening sound than the plastic blinds most places have up. Plus, it could probably cut down on heat loss from windows a little bit at night, when people usually have their blinds closed.

The question though, is how does the sound absorption/heat retention compare to traditional thick fabric curtains?

  • so all of the videos from this guys include japanese people

  • good for when a-holes are making noise like ganster-wanabes playing loud music.

Sadly telling them to shut up doesn't compute, too stupid and shooting them is sadly illegal.

Still i'd like to fix the problem by removing the noise source instead of working around a problem that will only get worse if left untreated.

  • choosing when to have quiet is awesome.

  • This is great for when I got busy with my girl. Oh yeah!

  • When absorbing sound (voice, music and so on) it is extremely important to do this evenly throughout the frequencies, using real sound absorbers and not putting them up on a whole wall but sparsely and where it does the most effect. Look at the Skype spin-off Sounds Of Science for a good example.

Thus big areas with this kind of blindes is not a good solution, for many reasons.

  • Human voice concists of frequencies between 250 to 3000 Hz and the most energy is in the lower part of that range. Those blindes does not have a chance to effectively absorb the lower part and what happens is that most of the echoes will reamain, apart from the higher frequencies, leaving you with an even odder acoustic environement.

  • Sounds good but they seem to forget something and that is that the thin felt will only absorb the highest of frequencies. As a result, the acoustics of the room will be even worse than before - absorbing only the highest frequencies but leaving everything else.

  • dear santa, jesus and mom.....

  • Shouldn't they be called sound-absorbing deafs instead? :P

  • i could use this right now for my downtown condo

  • 1 000 euros for a 2x2 meter cover??? o.0

  • 9dB? So what?

  • Wait, what I want sunlight from the window and no sound? :(

  • @alexpro00red3 then you close the window and open the blinds. but if you want ventilation and no sound then you open the window and close the blinds =P

  • 89 DB reduce with 4DB resulting in 60% noisereduction. ehh..

  • @kukelz

dB are a logarithmic scale, ie a jump from 70 to 80 represent a jump in 100 times the power from the sound, and a jump from 70 to 90 represent a jump in 1000 times the power.

  • I want this, but its probably expensive.

  • this is awesome!

  • sweet

  • that's exactly what i need

  • very nice! motels can be sound proof...

  • @alatulchat that's very good when a murderer is in your motel room, so no one can here you scream D:< MOHAHAHA

  • this could be good for when i build a recording studio

  • @TIMMEHHURTS Yeah, that's what you're gonna call your rape dungeon huh?
