  • I haven't had any issues concerning my hair in the workplace ( business office - healthcare industry) granted I often time wear 2 strands or twistouts but I don't think it should make a difference as long as your hair is clean and neat. I am making a reflection on myself and not the company I am working for. My hair in no way prohibits me from performing well on the job. I understand this is also an issue in the military ( I am prior service) which it should not be.

  • I went natural last year but I recently started wearing it out. I was surprised that a lot of my caucasian friends said that my hair looks PROFESSIONAL! Now these were not people around my age (21). They are in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. It reassured me in a positive way. It helps me embrace my hair to the fullest. It just saddens me to think that a lot of people (black and white) still do not accept black people natural hair. SICKENING!!

  • I dnt understand y people are so crazy.. I mean it shouldn't be any discrimanation on ur hair, most places of bizness dnt do that.. that is so crazy

  • yes i saw this somewhere. I don't think they understand our hair. they see a group of people who have perm or a fade and believe everyone should follow that way. They don't care it is just something they want to do to have some sort of control and tell you what to do. i remeber in high school they were saying people who had dreadlocks could not graduate. It's like are you serious.

  • Chyyyyyle.... I COULDN'T BA-LEEVE this mess!!! Lots of people are talking about boycotting Six Flags because of this. How bout I don't wanna work at Six Flags ANYWAY! Ugh. So disrespectful.

Hahahaha!! Bless your HEART for the shoutout!! I so appreciate it... love ya sis!! Thanks for bringing attention to this.. I didn't even think people paid attention to what I put on my Facebook wall LOL.

  • @Shyloh8 Girl No problemo! You know I love you Sis! Thanks for putting that articel out there, We need to stay informed, we giving these fools our money and they are constantly trying to dictate how we as a people should be! It's really ridiculous! And I wanted to go there this summer, my son and I are going to have to find someplace else to kick it! Fa' Sho!

  • Just plain ignorance. We need to ban. We spend a lot of money in that park. I understand neat and pulled back (esp for safety). We always have to conform until it becomes hot with them...then it's all good! I will NOT be taking my nieces and nephews to that park!

  • Its is offensive. Not just whites, but many blacks look at those who loc their hair in a stereotypical way. People still associate certain natural hair styles for blacks with unprofessionalism. I agree that if hair is neat, clean, & is not a safety hazard for them and the customer - then they should wear it how they want. One restriction at my job that I agree with is that your hair color has to be a "naturally occuring" color; blue hair is not professional in certain environments.
