  • "and I would like to thank god, for making me an atheist." ~Ricky gervais

  • the letters are really hard to read on all the light backgrounds, just sayin'.

  • I heard Billy Joel on Howard Stern a few months ago, and he declared flat out, "I'm an atheist". My respect for him immediately jumped up a few notches. : )

  • Nothing holds back humanity like religion

  • I believe :) God loves you all :)

  • @MsSomethingsilly FUCK OFF

  • @Antr4x13 Thank you. :) :*

  • @MsSomethingsilly If he loved us all there wouldn't be all this disease. It would be quite easy for an all-powerful being that created the universe to get rid of Aids, cancer, Malaria. etc.

Millions have died as a result, and what did god do? Did he save? No, but science saves everyday!

  • @astroboomboy True but then we would live in heaven - and we did live in heaven, Eden to be exact (heaven on Earth) but we screwed it up so this is what we get. I've seen and know a lot of people who were saved by their faith after science turned its back on them but I'm not here to tell you in what to believe - I believe, we all have the right to choose.

  • @MsSomethingsilly If diseases that kill innocent babies disappear we wouldn't automatically live in heaven, wars, murders, pedophiles, etc., would all still be around. I can see that these things have to be here to accord us free will, but disease that kills infants is just utterly cruel.

If a person did the things god does we would call him Hitler. And isn't it terrible that because Adam screwed up babies have to die of Aids?

  • @astroboomboy Eve screwed up. :) I get your point. I'm aware that believing in such a God is not easy - we have a lot of questions and doubts and I'm not the one with the answers, I'm sorry. I choose to believe despite all the evil and despite all the things I don't understand.

Maybe it's ignorant of me but I see it like this - If I was to understand God I would be one as well but I can't, I'm only human.

I choose to believe you don't have to.

  • @MsSomethingsilly That is something I can respect. Our knowledge is slim and based on assumptions that we can't really prove. I can't with certainty say that god does not exist, but my skepticism doesn't allow me to have faith. Although I am interested in the idea of faith in the Kirkegaardian sense!

  • @astroboomboy Thank you. I understand that, my boyfriend shares your viewes completely. It's just that I find that faith is called faith for a reason, we don't need to have proof in order to have faith. Like when something bad happens to someone and we say to them that things will be ok, we don't have proof for that either.

I get that faith in God is a much more bigger thing... Everyone has their own viewes and I respect them.

  • @MsSomethingsilly I agree. I don't have proof for much of what I believe in, and science itself is based on certain assumptions/axioms that can't be proven within the system itself.

However, I completely disagree with you that one should respect every kind of view. There is a difference between rational assumptions and completely irrational assumptions. The hypothesis of god is not irrational (it can be logically deduced). Inequality based on sex (just an ex) is irrational, so no respect.

  • @astroboomboy hahaha XD Now that's just funny.

  • @MsSomethingsilly I wasn't trying to be funny, but I guess that's when one is really funny!

  • @astroboomboy No, don't get me wrong - not everything you said just the part about your ex... It made me laugh. Sorry. I'm lame.

  • @MsSomethingsilly Haha, it wasn't ex as in ex-girlfriend, but ex as in example. Hehe, but now I see why you laughed! Have a good day, peace!

  • @astroboomboy Now I feel lamer... XD English is not my native language but I do study it and I always write it as eg.so I got a bit confused. :/ Thanks for the chat. :)

  • @astroboomboy I agree.

  • it's amazing how much one may accomplish when he or she knows that this life his all he or she has.

  • I honestly would rather die than give a fuck about the faiths of people I don't know and will probably never meet.

  • I do think a guy who wrote a book called "why I'm not a Christian" should be on that list. It means that he got famous for being an atheist, and thus, does not belong on that list. I don't care that any of these people are atheist, and I never will. I don't care what faith you are, so long as you respect my faith and the faith of others.

  • @SkylitDriveFan123 I don't respect all kinds of faith if they are completely irrational and demand actions that are harmful to others. You can't demand respect, but have to earn it. Leaving someone alone is also not a viable solution if they have ideas that are irrational and can cause harm to others in the long run. Living in a society demands that we debate and care for each other. Irrational and intolerant views should always be criticized because they can lead to harm.

  • Bill Gates is agnostic, just like me :)

  • Religion (brainwashing) was created by men to control people. End of story.

  • Famous atheists last words before dying. on you tube !!!!!check it

  • złota rączka

  • I believe that "god" gave each of us a little something called "free will" and if I refuse to believe in "god" that's my given right I mean what kind of "god" gives you free will and punishes you for believing differently than what it wants you to believe? I'm not Atheist, just an open minded Catholic!

  • @deltaenforcer93 I really respect that, but it does also mean that you cherry pick, which then turns into a personalized god, that differs from the one in the bible.

I like how you don't believe in imposing with fear

  • Wow!!! Someday every person that does not believe in God will regret it real bad. Seriously, He is REAL. There's proof everywhere. Where do you think everything came about? Wow...just wow.

  • @supercutesupercute there isnt a bit of proof that god is real... except aparently he created humans...

  • @DAcreamcheez And everything you see He created. But whatever...if you don't want to believe fine. Suffer :P :)

  • @supercutesupercute you worship a God that sends people to hell *just* for not worshiping him... what kind of a twisted egocentric god is this? Are you serious? I bet you just opened your eyes a little...

Besides, it's not believing in god what's pitiful, it's believing in a specific god from a fairy tale book that has zero evidence to back it up. Plus, you know that there are thousands of gods and religions out there, right? they can't all be right...

    Atheism = Reason.

  • @Megadeth6633 I concur. It sets up a "cognitive disconnect" deep in someones brain. That cannot be healthy in a world that requires more and more cognitive skills just to survive.

  • @Megadeth6633 Every person will bend their knee before Christ and confess that Jesus is their Lord! (Philippians 2:9-11) And that includes YOU!! :D

  • @supercutesupercute here's a line of my religious holy book, AND IT'S TRUE I CAN PROVE IT:

(Flying Ravioli 2:8-17): You shall bend to your knee before the holy Unicorn when you die, and paint it's nails.

AND THAT INLUDES YOU!!! :D Believe it or burn in the unicorn's sulforic acid bowl that is for people who don't believe in his holy word.

    do you believe me?

  • @Megadeth6633 Obviously not because there's a difference in what I'm saying. Plus, you're talking about unicorns and ravioli -_____________- Because that's all you can up with. In the Bible it speaks about people like you, non-believers. So I'm not going to argue with you. God bless!! :) tevasacordardemialgundia

  • @supercutesupercute alright let's not talk about it, because as we all know 99% of christians ignore opposing arguments...

and what I said was the same thing that's in the bible, only with a different story. don't believe? burn in hell... (yeah because people deserve that!! those fools! those sinners!...)

yeah... whatever buddy... nice talking to you

  • 2:23 "I don't believe in anything..." wait, what?

  • 0:46, lol, funny

  • im surrounded by sane reasonable intelligent people and im reassured......a bit

  • I am the Way the Truth and the Life no one comes to the Father if not by Me!!!......Jesus

  • man itd suck to be an atheist

  • @dwc311 why? hahaha, i think it would suck to believe in god, demons, ghosts, zombie kings, zombies, magic evil apples, hell, satan, and under the impression that if you do anything wrong you will "burn" in hell for eternity. That's some fucked up shit glad I don't believe it. Sucks to be a theist. Unless your buddist that shits fucking cool.

  • @Goldtacto Because what if there really is a God. If there really is than the atheist are screwed. Ghost and demons are definatly cool. I personally dont like zombies but zombies are considered very "cool' among many people these days. A fat Buddah man isnt really cool. The characters in Christianity are cool than the ones in buddihsm. A satanic demon zombie ghost is cooler than just some fat man. What him and Jesus did were cool though. The benefits of both religions are indeed cool as well.

  • @dwc311 have you ever heard of the term "only atheist's go to heaven"? The atheists go to heaven because life was actually god's perverse test to see who could think past dogma. I don't believe that at all because i'm an atheist lol. But google it if you don't believe me. So I think in your eyes this means you're fucked. hahahahahaha

  • @Goldtacto you said your atheist but you say life was actually Gods perverse test.....none the less a very ignorant comment......stupidest. comment. ever.

  • @dwc311 i clearly say in my comment "I don't believe that at all because i'm an atheist lol." and if you read over your comment before your recent one you will see that half the shit you wrote was pretty bad grammar. You sir are most likely a country listening redneck who doesn't know a single thing about science.

  • @Goldtacto Why would i waste my time trying to make sure I use propar grammar with an atheist. You aint worth it. You know science is a gift from God right? Atheist cant visually prove the existance of God and either can theist. How stupid could you be. So what if there really is a God all the atheist are fucked. You might as well believe in some kind of God. You got nothin to lose there. Itd suck to be an atheist. Being looked down upon and whatnot Now beat it creep...

  • @dwc311 You sir are a troll. You come onto a 'Famous Atheist" video just to argue. You also asked what do I have to lose? The answer is my dignity. Why do people always ask why i'm an atheist? I mean I don't go up to a church and ask "Why are you a Christian?" I do NOT hate religion nor do I think it's bad. But i'm not going to continue to waste my time arguing with a person who does not even know how to express their thoughts. This is my last comment towards you, whether you like it or not.

  • U forget the god hymself - gene roddenberry, star trek day = atheist day, to be theist and like star trek didn't merge at all, u must give up at one of them!

  • Look at all these self-assured fools.

  • RIP Christopher Hitchens.

  • Great Quotes;

  • Glad the quotes were so readable. grey captions on a grey background works great for pauses every 4 seconds. lol

  • Christopher Hitchens is rotting in the ground.

  • @wiccanmoonman HA! HA! HA!

  • @wiccanmoonman

Did you actually just post a troll comment

And then reply to it by laughing?

    Oh you fucking dumb shit

  • @1IIOOOO YES! I'm glad Christopher Hitchens is dead.

  • @wiccanmoonman How Christian of you.

  • @wiccanmoonman You're right he is rotting in the ground just like you and I and everyone else will when we die.

  • @irlsarge Sorry bust your bubble but I get reincarnate when I die. I'm a Wiccan and have say I hate christians less than you retards.

  • @wiccanmoonman wow, you are as arrogant as you are nutty, well good luck with the hole reincarnateion thing ha ha.... ah religion where logic and reason are none compliant.

  • @irlsarge Don't bother arguing with the zealots. Thankfully more people are thinking for themselves, atheism is on the rise.

  • @wiccanmoonman Well ok, you get reincarnaTION (not reincarnate) when you die. Atleast that's what you think. So all the Christians will go to heaven all the Buddhists will achieve nirvana, and so on and so forth. What makes you think you're right and everyone else is wrong? Also, the necronomicon (which commonly is used by wiccans though not all) WAS MADE BY HP LOVECRAFT. You're just like the Scientologists.

  • @xxalucard66xx I didn't say anybody was was right or wrong to each her or his own I'm a Wiccan so I believe what I believe and you believe what you believe others believe what they believe. Sorry for any hateful think I might have said.

  • Adolph Hitler was an atheist.

  • @wiccanmoonman He was NOT an atheist, you are a plain ignorant man, Hitler even gave his armies a "holy bible", yes thats right, while they were murdering people, they thought they were doing it for a higher "divine porpuse" so spare us of your factoids and go back to the filthy sewer you cam out of. R.I.P Christopher Hitchens

  • @Felipetheatheist Adolf Hitler had his own circle of occultist advisors, who he listened to often more than his generals. If anything contradicts faith in Christian God, this is it.

  • I am my own god.

  • Why did you leave out Che Guevarra?

  • What about Pat Tillman? He is the one who took the saying "there is never an atheist in the foxhole" and tore it to peaces.

  • On page 1 in the Bibblit, it says god created light/dark, the Earth, then sun/moon/stars, all the plants & animals, them Adam. Then passed out. In that order. It's a blatant lie & is a direct contradiction to known scientific FACT.An omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent being would know that, & would know that we would figure it out. Therefore a god had absolutely nothing to do with the writing of the Bibblit. The "Word Of God" is nothing more than Sheeple Control.. Hail Sauce, full of beef.

  • The Bible is only contradictory to those who do not understand it.

  • @MyKafkaesqueLife No problem man, I understand the anger towards the Bible as there are a lot of contradicting things in there, take care man.

  • Thanks for posting! Although Atheism is based on science & reason, it also has an emerging culture which can provide comfort, meaning, and a system of values. I've started an FB page called "Atheism with Soul". Please join the movement!

  • @MyKafkaesqueLife thats your opinion, but i'm going to believe what i want. Its not like im trying to convert you stop being so hostile...

  • By their fruits you will know them, evidently that statement by Jesus Christ is TRUTH because majority of these scum believe they are gods which is a core belief of their unknowing homage to satan.

  • Comment removed

  • @JASONANDTRACI you think we worship satan?

  • this is sad.

  • @mpw19962001 how so?

  • @MLiebeU In the sense that so many people are lost.

  • @mpw19962001 i guess in your perspective..

  • @MLiebeU My perspective of course, no guessing about it. That's kinda what the comment section is for.

  • @mpw19962001 yeah. of course.

  • some these actor I googled... and some of them say they are Buddhist.

not atheist.. so... "mcmoogol' your lying and ur full of poop!

  • I feel so sorry for anyone who doesn't believe in God. When your burning in hell maybe you might regret that.

  • @AnimalsRLove79 relax hell isn't real.

  • @AnimalsRLove79 how do you know the hell is real? you go to hell and back?

  • @AnimalsRLove79 As a Christian you sicken me, it is so so so wrong to judge others and determine who you think will 'burn in hell'. I feel sorry for you that you believe that you are strong enough in your faith to condemn others. People like you are the very reason why people shun religion and hate it so much. Be ashamed of yourself.

  • i'm athiest <3

  • 0:46 Bill Gates is an agnostic not an athiest

  • @xXblueblurXx1 We atheists,Agnostics, and Deists are on the same side, we've figured out that Religion is bullshit.

  • I like the video, but some of the quotes dont show the person is an atheist. For example Joe Rogan, he says all religions are cults. That doesnt mean he doesnt believe in a higher power.

  • You should have included John Lennon, and obviously Andy Partridge (songwriter from XTC)

  • No Hope...Just Blank..when you die just Blank....eat by Worm.....you live...you life...Falling in Love...you need respect...???...i belive you will need it when you getting old...you need hug when you sad..???...hmm.....how about when fail for something..???..hmm..just Blank note....any way...you can screw some one or Being screwed....just free..Nature Law..The strongest...is The winner..Kill or to be Kill....Watch your back some one screwing your girl...and she like it a lot..,,Just Blank...

  • What about John Lennon? His song "Imagine" Imagine there's no heaven, it's easy if you try.

No hell below us, above us only sky."

  • One message to take away fro this presentation: if you have a son, don't let him go into the entertainment field. It'll turn him into an atheist!

  • Roflcopter. 3:40 Lance is a beast.

  • Evolution is not science. Mutations do not order anything. Evolution is a false teaching. Atheists believe that fairy objects and forces order things.

    watch?v=HoKVVYJ8KJM

  • @JungleJargon evolution is a scientific theory that says humans evolved and adapted to the conditions to the earth over millions of years how is that nonsense animals adapt to their enviorments over time i think a man appearing and cloning a women from his rib is a lot more rediculous then adapting to our enviorment and mutated? adapting is mutating mutating is like a squirrel turning into an alien with razor sharp teeth

  • You're either a believer, or an atheist. There is no middle ground.

  • The presence of Nietzsche in this video is ridiculous.

If he was anti-christian it doesn't necessarily mean he was an atheist.

And secondly- you put all those people there bragging about humanism, most of them, with a kind of leftist anthem singing utopias on the background, and you try to fit Nietzsche into this picture ? :))

I find it really something when leftists in general quote Nietzsche for anti-christian content...

  • can anyone say 'circlejerk'?

I mean, wow, a bunch of celebrities (not intellectuals) flush with cash don't see a need for God in their lives? Quelle surprise.

  • @emdtb2001 most scientists are atheists... Also just bc someone needs a god in there life doesn't make that god real. People of different religions sometimes claim they have a personal relationship with god.

Either people are delusional (most likely), or god is not affiliated with a specific dogma.

  • @MrJdrizzle91 most scientists are atheists i couldnt find any evidence for this claim.

Maybe ya just don't get it guy. Just because you're in good company doesn't make you correct. Talking to atheists, really, its just dumb, a waste of time. It's like watching a drowning person insist that he's learning to swim.

  • @MrJdrizzle91 Also just bc someone needs a god in there life doesn't make that god real.

What? Is that the best you can come up with. I thought that you atheists were supposed to be the higher intelligence. Here's another one for you, you can quote this too, " I don't believe in God so you shouldn't either." Amazing.

  • @MrItchyElbow Uhhh that's actually a valid point. Just because someone believes doesn't make it true. It was a response to the statement that "... don't see a need for God in their lives?". It wasn't meant to be some killer blow to religion.

If I were you I would have gone after "most scientists are atheists" not only is it an argument from authority it's not really true, there was a poll that had pointed to the lack of belief in a personal god but not necessarily atheism.

  • @whyness If I were you I would have gone after "most scientists are atheists"

I would have but someone else beat me to it. Why reinvent the wheel?

But while we're at it, why is it that atheists think that they don't have faith?

Also the thing about God being irrelevant is not atheism, its more like "I don't care." So, technically speaking, it makes you more agnostic than anything. "I don't know if there is a god and I don't care." I think that says what I mean.

  • @MrItchyElbow "...it makes you more agnostic than anything."

Common mistake, Gnosticism deals with knowledge while theism deals with belief, I am both an atheist and agnostic because I do not believe but I am unsure whether a god does or does not exists. You could say I have faith if I made the assertion that God exists but I do not, I simply wish to be allowed my disbelief without being labeled as "evil" or "immoral" by people who have never met me.

  • @whyness You could say I have faith if I made the assertion that God exists

I could also say that you have faith if you make the assertion that God does not exist, is that true? Does not atheism deal with a persons certainty about gods/goddesses nonexistence?

As for the being labeled "evil" or "immoral" (quotes?) I don't know you and I have never met you. You may be the nicest guy/gal in the world. The labels that you speak of are not the way I see you, but the way God sees you.

  • @MrItchyElbow My mistake I meant to say "... that god does not exist". I, nor any intellectually honest atheist, do not make the assertion that a does not god exist. I do however assert that the biblical God does not exist as there are too many blatantly false ideas in the bible for me to believe it could be divinely inspired. Also when I first read the bible I was a moderate Christian. In case you or anyone else tries to say you can't understand the bible unless you read it believing it.

  • @MrItchyElbow

    Part 2

"The labels that you speak of are not the way I see you, but the way God sees you."

So essentially, from what you believe you are forced to consider me immoral (it says so in your book), not that I'd care if people kept such opinions to themselves. Unfortunately that isn't the case, I will not and do not lie about my beliefs when the topic comes up. I've been accused of being a Satanist, a nihilist and of "only pretending to be moral" for simply stating "I do not believe".

  • @whyness I am forced to see you as a human just like me. Your relationship with God is your relationship with him not mine, and not something that I know about, beyond what you have stated. If I say I know you that would be a lie. What it says in my book is that "God so loved the world..." My book says to "Love your neighbors as yourself." My book says "remove the log from your own eye before you remove the splinter from your brothers." My book says spread the Good News.

  • @MrItchyElbow you're an idiot. how can you say that some invisible fairy who likes to kill people is somwhere up there in the sky watching over all of us and then killing our families? your book is full of the words from a crazy psycho who thought that he was the invisible fairy's son. THATS CALLED SCHIZOPHRENIA DUMBASS!

  • @MrMetallica876 Hey, your opinion does not invalidate mine, just thought you'd like to know. As for the psychological assessment, I'll take that under advisement, and I'll want to see your diploma that allows you to make that diagnosis.

  • @MrItchyElbow Hey dummy, he said those people don't need a God in there lives. That argument might work if there was only ONE religion on earth. The fact that undeveloped nations have higher faith is not an argument when some undeveloped nations are majority Islamic, and others are a majority catholic, and so on.

So yes, my argument is a good one, and anyone with half a brain sees why his argument is illogical.

  • @MrJdrizzle91 Thanks for the comment, but it does nothing to change the fact that the world is going to hell in a hand basket and there is nothing that can be done for it by man. The oceans are dying, the land is polluted, suffering from drought and floods and earthquakes. The fresh water supply is becoming a problem. You tell me that God is not necessary, that's your opinion. This is the state of the earth after Adam and Eve's sin. Their sin was that they thought they didn't need God.

  • @MrItchyElbow why did god place adam and eve in the same garden that satan was in? He's all powerful but can't manage to kill the talking snake he made?

  • @MrJdrizzle91 Why do you think?

  • @MrItchyElbow and why did he make satan in the first place? To me it seems impossible for an omnipotent benevolent being to create something so evil, and AGAIN he later commits mass genocide during Noahs ark. How is a god so perfect continually messing up his creations?

  • @MrJdrizzle91 Who made Lucifer to be Satan? God made conditions that allows his creatures to choose one way or another, follow God or not. Ask yourself, "what defines Evil?", maybe if you are not too blinded you might get the answer.

  • @MrItchyElbow I believe evil is defined as flooding the world to kill off everything YOU created, blaming them and not yourself for their wrongdoings (bc they were his product, and his omnipotence would have forseen there evil ways before making them). God won't take responsibility, when he messes up, he just wipes the slate clean and starts over? how were the babies and children that died in the flood immoral?

Also, I don't believe fear and love can coexist.

  • @MrJdrizzle91 Who are you talking to? It seems to me that you have a bone to pick with God in whom you believe. You should pray for understanding.

  • Free thought is a wonderful thing.

  • Truth is only a fact to some people as long as their beliefs goes along with it.

  • I'm sure someone has already mentioned this, but that photograph is of Frank Miller, not Arthur Miller.

  • Friedrich Nietzsche: "God is dead!"

    God: "Freidrich Nietzsche is dead!"

  • @fourteatwo But how can God say something if he does't exist?

  • @cov99

"But how can God say something if he does't exist?"

Guess the statement that Nietzsche is dead is fact, so if God is the expression of fact and logic the note that FN is dead would be in line with that. Now to me God is the logos but if you believe there is no God you will probably argue that there is no logic to the universe as well. Now a God that creates miracles is irrational if the miracle would offend the logic. If it;s a rare events u might as well believe in the lottery.

  • God is only the product of human imagination as faith is the key to belief in it.

  • Andy Rooney is what really makes this list awesome.

  • Very well made video. I approve!

  • You can be agnostic about things that have nothing to do with religion. You need to look up the word, because it doesn't mean what you think it means

  • Agnostic is not a third option like 99% of people think it is. Agnostic means that you don't know if there is a god. Most people are agnostic. Agnostic theists or agnostic atheists. If you simply haven't made up your mind if you believe in a god or not, well then you're clearly an atheist up till the point you decide you believe in a god.

  • What is the point of this video? I guess it's just a "feel good" thing.

  • SCIENCE SHOWS THAT THE UNIVERSE could not have sustained itself eternally because of entropy. Einstein confirmed that space, matter, and time had a beginning! That beginning had to be supernatural because natural laws have no ability to bring the universe into existence from nothing. The supernatural cannot be proved by science but science points to a supernatural intelligence for the origin and order of the universe ~ HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM (Article)

  • @Mogley52 Maybe the universe wasn't born by some sort of god/goddess. Maybe there are many other universes out there that tell a story that maybe our universe was born naturally. Not accidentally or with a purpose. But like life and stars,it came naturally.

  • @Mogley52 Just because we don't know everything yet doesn't mean it was all because of a Magical Sky Wizard, I think Agnosticism is the best stance.

  • @MrNinjaSpartan Agnosticism I can understand. I'm one myself. Atheists are full of shit and I really don't believe there ARE any REAL atheists. The famous atheist Richard Dawkins, who promotes being an atheist like Billy Graham promotes God was asked by Ben Stein how sure he is that God doesn't exist. Dawkins said "on a 1 to 7 scale I'm a 6". Well that is NOT a damn atheist. That is an agnostic who is almost an atheist. And that is what they all are I bet ya. On a 1 to 7 I'm a 4 about a creator

  • @boblackey1 agnosticism is for pussies who can't choose what they want to believe or not..

  • @nukec Well I like pussy. Are you one?

  • @boblackey1 I'm Agnostic in the sense that you can't disprove the existence of a god. But in the same way you can't disprove there is an invisible tea pot orbiting Saturn.

  • @MrNinjaSpartan That is stupid. We all know only a fucking fool would believe a pot orbiting Saturn. But there IS lots of evidence in science that supports the position that God may exist. The problem with that evidence to me is that while much of it indicates a good likelyhood that an intellegence must exist which created the universe, it could be explained as many lucky events and yet God doesn't exist. As Dr. Kaku recently said"I believe in the god that caculated the laws of nature."

  • @boblackey1 For some reason people fear the word Atheism. It's ridiculous though, it's means NOTHING more then "I don't believe in a god". If you don't believe in a god, but admits that you don't know if there is one. THEN YOU'RE STILL AN ATHEIST!.

  • @Darkeons Let's see. On one hand you DON'T believe in God. On the other you DON'T KNOW if GOD EXISTS. Again I submit that when you closely examine most athiests, they are NOT atheists at all. They are agnostics. Not 50/50 agnostics like myself but 99/1 or 80/20 etc. But even if it is 99/1, you are NOT an atheist. You still have that crack open in the door and that means you are really an agnostic.

  • @boblackey1 ok let me explain it to you one more time

Agnostic = Thinking something is unknown or unknowable (do you agree or disagree)

Atheist = Someone who does not believe in a god (do you agree or disagree)

Theist = someone who does believe in a god (do you are agree or disagree)

Please look up the definitions that I just put up. I don't believe in a God. So therefore I'm an atheist. I don't think it's possible to know if there's a god or not, so that makes me agnostic

  • @boblackey1 I also think you got Antitheism and Atheism mixed up.

  • @Darkeons

i fit in both categories, want me to go after the troll?

  • @zacharymullin I fit in both as well ;). I just wanted to clear up the definitions as his were ignorant

  • @boblackey1 In that case, there are no theists either, since you can't be 100% sure of it.

And how the fuck are atheists full of shit? We are usually pretty nice people but we're hated on just because we don't believe in God, and you complain about our bullying and swearing, what do you expect?

  • @anticorncob6 May I ask you...are you certain God doesn't exist or do you doubt God exists? Dawkins says he is an atheist yet when confronted by Ben Stein, he said on a scale of 1 to 7, he is a 6 that God doesn't exist. That is a slight crack in the door is it not? And would that not make Dawkins actually an agnostic? What is your scale? Are you a 7 on a 1 to 7 scale that God doesn't exist?

  • @boblackey1 Well in that case nobody truly doesn't believe in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy, or lephracauns, because we can't technically know for sure they aren't real. An atheist is defined as someone who does not believe God exists. It doesn't state that we know for certain. And theists don't know for certain God is real, so according to you, everyone in the world is an agnostic.

As for your question, I would rank myself about 49/50 God doesn't exist, but you can't know for sure either way.

  • @anticorncob6 Santa Claus, tooth fairy, lephracauns are apples and God is oranges. I suppose it may be possible something that may be close to a lephracaun could exist on another planet in another star system here in the Milky Way or in another galaxy. But the question of super intelligent being that may have no beginning that created the universe or caused the big bang and caculated the laws of physics and nature that would include the ability of stars and life to form is a serious question.

  • @anticorncob6 We have several options. God has existed forever and created the universe out of nothing (big bang) and worked up the laws of nature and physics. The universe has existed forever, no beginning (Steady State theory). The universe created itself out of nothing (big bang without God). The universe has no beginning but was different before the big bang and God dosen't exist. Remember: Big Bang says matter, time, energy and SPACE (a place to be located) all began at the big bang!

  • NATURAL LIMITS TO EVOLUTION: Only evolution within "kinds" is genetically possible (i.e. varieties of dogs, cats, etc.), but not evolution across "kinds" (i.e. from worm to human). How were species living, reproducing if their reproductive system, vital structures, and organs hadn't evolved yet? Read my Pravda Internet article: WAR AMONG EVOLUTIONISTS! I discuss: Punctuated Equilibrium, "Junk DNA," genetics, mutations, natural selection, fossils, genetic/biological similarities between species.

  • INTELLIGENT DESIGN DEBATE: If you discovered a sand castle on a lonely beach, you can't prove it was made by either chance or design. No one observed its origins. Either it was designed or the random forces of wind and waves made the castle. You didn't find fingerprints. Did the wind wipe the fingerprints away? How do we know that there were fingerprints in the first place? By chance or by design? Both sides should present their case. Read the article: HOW FORENSIC SCIENCE REFUTES ATHEISM
