i play defensive end at my school and use the 2 point stance, our coaches tell us we are playing a 5-2 which is true because i play on the line of scrimage.. but really isn't a 3-4 because im not a down lineman??
dude he is practickly just holding him self up on his hand if the guy infrount is a bit faster than your defensive end is fucked cuse he could just smack his arm or push him down
our coach tells us to gets as low as your can, lower your shoulder, and get by the lineman without them being able to touch you. and if im lined up on the tight end i get gapped over and the safety of cornerback covers the tight end. It works pretty good cause when you get in the gap nobody can block you and you make an easy tackle
this video is sooo wrong. i have never seen an end ina 2 point stance. ina 3 point stance your butt needs to be higher than your head and hand 6-8 inches in front of face mask. and you can bull rush outta any stance and you gotta be lower than the OL and shoot your hands to the breast plate. 4 point stance is okay its whatever you are comfortable with
i got a question about defense ends, when ever they get on the line,i get in a 4 point stance? or is a 4 point the stance i always use,And do we always just run in to try and nail the quarterback,or whoever has the ball?
@IziahVideos It depends on the defense formations and the assignments. Generally the job of a D-End is to create pressure on the outside but your job is also to contain and stop any runs from going to your outside shoulder. Your job is to slow them down and force them inside and make the tackle.
in high school football a lot of ppl do, in my area at least.
its cuz 2 point stances are very easy to block out since they just hit ur stomach and ull be blocked out for a while, or they can shove ur pads straight up.
@Dragonix44 actually most of the 3-4 defense teams in the nfl has the outside linebackers on the line pretty much like D-ends except in a two point stance.
i guess so, but the difference is that the outside linebackers that are lined up looking like d -ends will drop back in coverage unless theyre on a blitz
real d ends that rush in every play dont get any power from a two point stance, and they dont have to worry about dropping back into coverage so they use 3 points
Yea, my school runs a 3-3-5 defense so its just a nose and two ends, but a lot of 5-2 D's we play have ends in a two point, it just depends on the team/coach
@youarealooser My coaches say that tall defensive ends or in just some situations it's good for an end to use 2-point, I use 2-point about as much if not more than I use a 3-point.
@youarealooser in some high schools colleges and even nfl the defensive end uses a 2 point stance for example a 3-4 formation usually has an outside linebacker rushing constantly usually pretty much like a d-end like damarcus ware for example thats what i think he means by the 2 point stance for defensive ends. If you pay attention to a team with a 3-4 formation you would see what i mean.
@youarealooser my school uses it we use it to great success. it isnt effective against run block so its a guess basically and if your wrong your fucked lol and worst D line stance ever
@youarealooser high schools use it because the ends usually set up outside of the offencive line, not shadow blocking them. If you start on two feet with out your hand that means you can get around and contain faster.
@youarealooser The two point is better for containment because you have more speed, the three point is better for rushing the QB or HB because you have more power.
I want to attend Kansas State baaad. I use to love watching them play football and running around on the field. Now i live in texas tho but im tryna get a scholarship there. Ima bout 6'2, bench about 230 and weigh about 200. I ran a 4.9 but i had a torn miniscus.I play DE/TE and idk how ill hold up in college. Im a junoir in high school and im getting faster and stronger cuz im recovering from a surgury, any one got some good advice?
i used to like 4 point till my coach showed me why we dont do it. he put me in a 4 point, we got set and as soon as i came up he clubbed my head down.lesson learned.
On the 2-point stance, your torso should be near parralel to the ground, ready to "pounce" on the tackle or TE, hands out to get ready to rip or swim...the high stance allows for an easy crack-back from a motioning receiver or tight-end.
actually his left hand should be down along with his left foot being back.the inside foot/inside hand are always back/down.if he was on the other side it would be his right hand/foot,that is so he wont get reached.his toes should also be straight with a little air underneath his heals.his butt should be slightly higher than his hat.that will allow him to snap his hips and get himself across the line of scrimmage into the gap because this is an attack stance which applies to one-gap football.
2 point sucks ass. 3 point/4point is best

Defensive Ends can use a three-four point stance depending on the type of defense they're running, for example nickle D.

My inside foot is always back, I swim or rip through the O tackle, when there's a tight end I'm ALWAYS outside of the tackle inside of the tight end.
