it's funny how people even bring people such as roy jones into this. lmao totally off generation let alone skills as these people. what is roy jones doing? isn't he rapping, haha
I think this fight was more of a publicity stunt than anything else. Ray was 40 years old for Christ sake and hadn't fought since the 80's. He should have never gotten back in the ring. Sad to see a legend go out like that especially by a chump like Hector.
Really? That's too bad. I like everything about him
Hector was very impressive in this fight even tho he had nothing left as a fighter since the late 80s. He surprised everyone in this fight who thought he was going to lie down passively and instead took the initiative, forcing the fight.
I think Norris set the pattern that gave other fighters the perfect blueprint on how to fight Leonard. Back him up and take his heart away, give him some movement, & u take an easy decision
wow, this Leonard thing is creating quite a stir, but ok, guys better than him that fough way better fighters, #1 will always be Sugar Ray Robinson, 2 Jose Napoles, 3 Henry Armstrong 4 Kid Gavilan. All of these guys fought real monsters in their prime.
I was also very very happy to see Leonard knocked out by Camacho or anybody else for that matter. I'll name a better fighter than him that people seem to have forgotten, Cuban born Jose "Mantequilla' Napoles, he got to be champ when he was 29 and held the crown until 35 (with a brief interruption in 1970). Nobody wanted to fight him until Curtis Cokes fought him cause he though he was done. He would of whooped Leonard and Hearns in his prime.
I forgot to add that this was a very satisfying fight for me. After being annoyed by Leonard's buffoonery all those years I found it deliciously ironic that he got knocked out by another buffoon. Leonard's charisma and marketing far exceed his true pugilistic ability.
I agree on Camacho not being able to knock out Leonard in his prime, but if that fight would of happened it would of been a boring fight, and I don't think Leonard would of never beaten Duran in his prime,he was already 30 when they fought the first time and he was 37 when he beat Barkely, a real tough guy. Leonard got beaten badly by Terry Norris when he was only 34 years old. So, I still don't see Leonard belonging in the same league as Duran and others I mentioned earlier.
@pama4242 Leonard vs Camacho both in their prime would have been the most boring fight ever. They were both overrated and pusillanimous. They only went all out when they were dominating otherwise they would just dance all over the ring. Neither of them belong in the discussion of all time greats.
Quite frankly Leonard does not belong or deserves to be mentioned with the likes of Ali, Louis or Duran, these were great fighters. Hagler was another over rated one.
Leonard is one of the most over rated fighters of all time, who did he beat anyway? guys like Donny Lalonde, Ayub Kalule, Hagler who was over rated himself, etc. Granted he did beat Hearns and Duran kinda, but waited till they got older to fight them again, Hearns kicked his ass in the rematch dropping him twice and got a gift from the judges giving him a draw, he alwyas got gifts, remember Kevin Howard, he dropped Leonard and was winning when the fight was stopped prematurely. OVER RATED.
@Tijuananense4ever what fighters do you think where better at welter than prime Leonard, none of his middleweight crap. At WELTER I only see Robinson above leonard then Hearns below...thats not really overated
@Tijuananense4ever wow you know nothing about boxing and shouldnt be allowed to speak about this sport... smh man i cant believe you said this dude people people in their primes! he beat Benitez a hall of famer when he was 38-0 ... he duran when he was 72-1 beat him twice out three ... he beat kalue one of the best junior middle wieghts when he was 36-0 beat hearns another hall famer when he was 32-0 !!!! he then beat hagler WHEN HE WAS 62-2 !!! YOUR AN IDIOT
and yet ended up with a ring record of only 36-3-1. if you dont think that's special, it's becuz it aint!
he couldnt handle fighters with excellent handspeed like Norris & Camacho. I dont have to tell u what Micheal Nunn wouldve done to him in a 1989 middleweight fight. It' why Ray chose the easy route and chose Duran. God forbid what Roy Jones wouldve done to him. After all, it only took Ray FIVE YEARS to summon the courage to face a badly deteriorated shell in Hagler
@Piglatinsuperstar I'd rather have a 36-3-1 against HOF finest instead of a record of 55-8 against bum opponents, and getting knocked out 4 times against thrash.
@Piglatinsuperstar wow are you serious right now? i dont know if your joking... first of all roy jones is in a different weight class duck! lol rjj was a middle weight light heay he even fought at heavyweight for god sakes .... lastly ray leonard lost 2 fights!!! in his end of his career he was old!!!!! hahaha wow the same thing that happen to all greats ali, roy jones, deloya, they lose when they get old and retire... .. smh
Sugar was doin fine till he crossed the wrath of speedsters Terry Norris N Hector Camacho, two of the fastest, slickest homres this side of Micheal Nunn
that match was being seriously poposed in 89 but guess why it didnt happen? for the same reason rey lemon didnt want any part of Hagler in 82. These kindz of fighterz are simply too god for him: Hagler, Norris, Camacho, Jones, Nunn.
and stop using that lame excuse "Sugar got OLD!". Hector was old too so it evens out
Hey, you forgot to mention Hagler was old too, as shot as a 60 year old woman's sex organs
and Sugar lost THREE fights in less than 40 fights. That's NOTHING! Roy Jones N Hagler surpassed his record and Sugar rey lemon NEVER wouldve caught up to Duran's record of 72-1
Sugar was good but you know he never wouldve gotten past Micheal Nunn or prime Hagler, just like he couldnt cope with the skillz of TNT Norris. Norris was slick, quick, and he made Rey leonard SICK!
2 B precise, Julio ENDED his career. That fite gave me a lot of satisvaction cuz a lot of know nothing big mouths had been saying DM, DM, he could beat Roy Jones
but he couldnt evn beat Gonzalez! I never believed those DM lies anyways and DM was never considered a threat by the press either. I think it's ridiculous the two fighters could even be mentioned in the same breath! Roy was the best middleweight, supermiddleweight, lightheavyweight, & heavyweight of the 90s
@Piglatinsuperstar Still, Roid avoid DM when he was in his prime. if he was so good why not fight him ? Why waste time on Clinton Woods, Pazienza and the tons of bums and over the hills he fought ?
Btw, he ducked McCallum as well and waited until he had become a trainwreck...then couldnt even ko him lol.
@Tijuananense4ever A IDIOT IF U THINK HAGLER WAS OVER RATED .. he will kill anybody at middleweight right now chavez felix sturm pirog hahahaha get the hell out of here .. and sergio martinez will be to lil for him
@Tijuananense4ever dude you're totally clueless.........Leonard had the hand speed that no other boxer did......thats what made him great...........oh yeah right.......Hagler was undefeated for 11 years....thats really an over rated record...........Hagler and Leonard were the two best fighters of their time when they were in their prime...........everything you mentioned in your comment took place after their prime......useless information.
Leonard was unbeaten in 11 yrs when Norris totally schooled him too!
And yes, I LOVE the beating & humiliation Camacho meted out on Gay leonard. Ray was just beaten by a better boxer! The similarities between Camacho & ali was astounding; ring intelligence, ring smartz, hand & foot speed. Except for Roy Jones & Mel Taylor, Hector had the gr8-est handspeed ever, more than Ali could ever hope to possess.
@Piglatinsuperstar Leonard was gay.........damn dude that must be breaking news.......never heard that before........you must be an expert on the subject from your personal experiences........thanks for letting us all know...........moron.
This was a disgrace to have shown this. Leonard was washed up and both in their primes Leonard would have destroyed Camacho worse than Chavez did to Camacho.
Damn sugar ray leonard my nigga my idol hes always my number one I love his style fast hands reflexes and his footwork even tho he followed ali's shit but it's different coming from him every champ always comes down eventually every boxer knows that even me but I've been gettin knocked lol
camacho beats leonard wow, this a joke did anybody see chavez vs camacho there you see camacho againts hes match...chavez was just way too much for the not macho putorican camacho hahahaha.
let's be honest and just admit Camacho was just better than him, give him his due and leave it at that
hector was the amller man moving up from 130 in the early 80s. Not to mention he'd been washed up since 1990 yet he DID move up and he DID knock out Ray Leonard. Hector was better, smarter, faster, tougher, and more ringwise. Sugar just couldnt cope with his smats & toughness and paid the price
Yeah? WIshful thinking! Prime Ray was only interested in finding the slowest opponent he could find. Believe me, there were better opponents than Lalonde. And Hagleer? He was a shell by then. WHy'd you think it was his last fight?
let's be honest and just admit that prime Hector was just too fast for Ray and that prime Ray would never lay a glove on him. Ray leonard was just a runner
prime Leonard my ass! There was Leonard calling the Camacho-Davis fight in June 87 and ray had just come off the hagler fight. Yet there he was beating up on Sugar's buddy, Olympic star Howard Davis on ABC WWS. Why dint Ray just call him out then? I think Sugar didnt becuz he didnt want some of the same treatment hector was giving his buddy! Sugar would much rather fight an old slug like Hagler than having hs ribs whacked by a young 25 yr old, energeic speedster like Hector!
@wayupinya1 sounds like you are over protective over your little idol macho-boy owwh how sweet, BTW i dont partically like Leonard but I am a BOXING fan and I do not let my thoughts cloud my juggement unlike you..any true boxing fan can see that LEONARD IS THE 2ND GREATEST WELTER AFTER ROBINSON you are obviously just another one boxer fanboy.
@B04Jordan On form,in his welter prime,the night he beat hearns,only a few in history had a chance.Duran should never have beaten leonard,he pissed leonard off by saying he was going to make leonards wife his girlfriend !This infuriated ray to the point where he tried to ko duran in the first fight and it backfired.The second fight you saw the real leonard,he put a whippin on duran and duran said,"no mas,adios"
I agree Duran was classless but on the nite Leonard beat Hearns, he hardly looked unbeatable to me. In fact, he was well behind. and even his own trainer told him he was blowing it. Up until the end when he caught Tommy with one of his haymakers, it wasnt a performance anyone would want to put in a scrap book.
Norris with his movement wouldve outboxed N outhustled Ray. Also Camacho with his blazing speed. Leonard wouldnt have known what to do as he cant hit a moving target
the blazing handspeed of Camacho, Norris, Floyd, Roy Jones, people like that (Micheal Nunn) was amazing. leonard could never do well against people like that
In fact I have a computer program that confirms this when I pit them against Sugar, he loses every time (the computer cannot lie and shows no partiality)
this was confirmed the nite Norris outsped Leonard and again when Camacho humlbed him for all time. As for Nunn, I think Mike would have destroyed Leonard within five
what glass jaw? During his first 15 yrs as a professional I never once saw it break including bouts with Hopkins & Toney. On the other hand, I saw Sugar Ray hit the deck all kinds of times, 1984, 1988, twice in 89, twice in 91, & was KO'd by Camacho
he even got hurt in his second pro fight by Rodriquez, again by slapper Geraldo in 79. You didnt see Roy getting hurt like Leonard would. And Roy was far, far faster. so was Terry Norris. Sugar wasnt good at handling fast opponents
@Piglatinsuperstar roy was a great fighter but has used image to claim he was untouchable in his prime, he fought no hard hitters in the league of hearns or hagler, if you could hit roy clean he would go down...and would not get up...I RESPECT HIM...but no fighter "cant be touched":)
@Piglatinsuperstar RJJ didnt have glassjaw ? Home come he has been knocked out more than any other fighter alive today ? I mean comeone, knocked out by Danny Green and Lebedev just to name a few ? SRL never lost to that kind of weak opposition.
@Piglatinsuperstar Dont forget RJJ cherrypicked most of his opponents, prefered to fight parttime policeofficers and garbagemen when there were real challenges like Darius, Calzaghe and Eubank...then he just said im too good for them and went on to fight people ten times worse. What a fag he was. His socalled historic fight vs Ruiz was a gigantic joke, Ruiz had the title only because Holy was tested positive for stereoid after the fight, and Ruiz was given back the title. What a joke performance
Roy would end if mercifully after three rounds with a single thundering solar plexus shot. All SRL fans have to point to is ray's single bout w Tammy Hearns, an anemic but budding young superstar. And while ray performed admirably well w/o so much as staggering, I have many MORE bouts I can point to suggesting his chin was less than stellar including Geraldo, Howard, Lalonde, Norris, Camacho, Duran
and forget that Hearns rematch in 89. he was a walking trainwreck!
Hearns walking trainwreck in 89 ? He beat a prime Virgil Hill years later. The same hill that Roid beat a 40 year old version of..a fight that you are mighty proud of..
So a shot Hearns beats a prime Virgil and a prime Roy beats a virtually show virgil years later..isnt that a little hard for you to explain to urself ?
Then endless string of bums that Roid beat is incomparable to any other bumstreak in the history. Luis had a bum of the month club,but at least he admitted they were bums
like I said, he was a trainwreck. Ray watched Tammy's last 4 bouts, saw he looked shalkier than an 90 yr old w alzhiemer's then said "we got to make this match!"
it was just as embarassing to watch as Ray's last two and love him or hate him, u got to admit there never was a problem with his eye and he SURE WASNT no fighter of the 80s
If Tammy WASNT a trainwreck, why was he was reeling all around the ring in his last fight? You know Ray drooled when he saw that saying "ooh look! I found the right opponent!"
It was as sad as the lalonde matchup. Let's not forget Tammy's many recent near misses w Kinchen, Roldan, & HOW BOUT THAT BARKLEY FIGHT!
as for Virgil, you mean that guy who doubled over from a Roy Jones body shot!
Roy is the greatest body puncher ever--of all time. Onw shot does it. several opponents double over from his pentrating body shotz. When somebody like Chavez hit you, the blow merely lands with force but when Roy did it, the punch goes right thru you
Tammy Hearns was a shakier than an old man w alzheimer's going into the Leonard rematch
ROid was never a good body puncher..he was never any puncher at all. he only fought hasbeens or bums. Facts and numbers dont lie. As soon as he fought people with legit power, he got koed. Facts.
Roy defeated both hopkins & Toney who were both 3 & 4 division champions respectively. That hardly qualifies them as bums and he dominated both men - WITh EASE
Problem is fanz of SRL are jealous of his Sugar like attributes and know who the REAL Sugar is!
on body punching. Roy was THEE best! so say the fanz of the Ring fan poll! whereas Ray Leonard or Chavez needed DOZENS to soften up their man, Roy needed only ONE! That's efficiency
@Piglatinsuperstar Only two good wins on Roys record, rest are bums. Total and uttter trash.
And Toney was weightdrained and didnt train properly for that fight.
Bhop didnt reach his full potential until 3-4 years later. That version of Bhop would have easely koed roid. Thats the reason Roid didnt give him a remach.
When they finally did fight again, Bhop showed him he was the much better man.
Virgil Hill an ex champ. It's not that hee was a bum that he folded over; it's that Roy was the most devestating body puncher ever. McCallum also and ex champ that said Roy wouldve beat Leonard, Benitez, Hearns, Hagler, ALL of them!
Reggie Johnson held Toney to a virtual draw and a champion at the time Roy bested him. In fact NO ONE could even come CLOSE to competing with Roy, not even Julio Gonzalez, the man who beat DM
BHOP was no different than he was in 93 that he was in 96,97,98. He did what he had to do to beat Roy but didnt have the power to get it done. The reason he had success against Tito but not Roy is cuz he had an easier opponent in front of him
Getting back to Roy, Roy had a busted hand and still beat Hop 9-3. (I gave Roy 10/12 rds). That's the really amazing thing about it! Both turned pro the same year but Roy satill won eazy and with ONE hand! Roy iz just the gr8-est!
@Piglatinsuperstar Virgil hill was a trainwreck by the time he faced Roid lol.
Bhop was still getting into his prime and was too green at the time. 2 years later would have been different but roid chose to duck as always. DM was just getting out of his prime and lost his last fight agains JC..he waited years for Roid to fight him but roid was too scared
SRL never lost to B and C fighters the way Roid does.And was never out cold.
Also Roid was on roids, so ost of his wins are cheats
No dude, Virgil Hill waz a trainwreck AFTER Roy got thru with him
Like I said, gr8-est body puncher of all time. and forget about this bs about Hopkins not being prime. Both men turned pro the same years (1988). It's just that Roy was more advanced. Roy already had hiz PHD while Hopkinz on at bachelor's level
I think what's really impressive is how eazy Roy won it w only one hand! Still, Hop looked good vs Trinidad. even so, we all knew Tito wasnt Roy Jonez
@Piglatinsuperstar They turned pro same year but BHop matured and came into his style later.. Just like Hearns had this window of 2 1/2 years that you keep talking about, similar with Bhop...and Roid ducked him during that window. And ducked DM and pretty and much any other fighter that he wasnt sure of beating. He even tried to make HBO stop talking about DM completely...to pretend he didnt exist..he knew that DM would give him the Lebedev treatment.
How cum Roy didnt need as much time to mature?? Cuz he was BETTER jus like I SAID! That's what happenz when youre the better fighter! You go onto become champ and turn back pretenderz like Hopkinz w one hand and then Hopkinz can become champ AFTER Roy leaves!
then while Hopkinz is concentrating on getting hiz first, Roy iz geting his second, third, 4th, , and so on
all this talk about DM. How cum I never saw DM on no covers?
Tammy became Tommy when he put on some much needed muscle. Until moving up to 154 & 160, Th looked like the welterweight version of Johnny Owen.
anywayz, the disparity between Roy & Hopkinz was light yrz while that of TH & SRL was only due to ineperience, physical strength & Th not being at the proper wt. If u recall, TH was way ahead on pts & Sugar needed a knockout to win
@Piglatinsuperstar So ill keep to one point at a time, though ill adress the weight issue soon.
Was tommy a trainwreck or not ? And what does that say about Roids victory or Hill and more importantly, what does it say about who he chose to fight ?
didnt I just say that? Roldan nearly finished him. Barkley fuined him. and w Kinchen it was life & death the whole way. It was a disgarce for Sugar to pick a fight with Tammy the same way it was for him to pick a fight w Lalonde. No one even knew who lalonde was
and then there was picking a fight w Marvin after 5, 6 yrs. U wouldnt see Roy concocting these pretend retirements. that's what seperates Jones from Sugar. I'm glad Roy didnt turn out to be another lennard
@Piglatinsuperstar " It was a disgarce for Sugar to pick a fight with Tammy the same way it was for him to pick a fight w Lalonde. No one even knew who lalonde was"
I knew who LaLonde was. Everyone who knew boxing knew him. He earned his shot with some good wins.
So it wasnt a disgrace for Roid to fight Ruiz ? 95% of Roids record consists of fighters who noone knew who was. Even people who knew boxing didnt know them. Even LaLonde was better than those guys.
Well u must be the only one cuz no one else knew who he was. When the match was made people said "Donny WHO?" and "am I missing something here?"
Having had only one television appearance (vs Lelie Stewart) who could blame them? I thought he was the actor from Blue Lagoon. anywayz, it was a truly a pitiful nite & another black eye for boxing. On top of that u had SRL being awarded two titles against a man who wasnt even ranked at 168! How do u get a title for that?
It was like HANDING Sugar 2 titles. Lalonde clearly wasnt a qualified fighter and had it not been for his extremely low levels of ability it's obvious SRL never would have selected him as an opponent
Now take Roy Jones. Roy wouldve had too much pride in himself to do that. act like he was incapacitated for three yrs, then suddenly come out saying "I'm back! Wanna fight?"
I just dont believe in people like that. Somehow the matches wi mediocrities always get made but not Hagler or Nunn-srl?
@Piglatinsuperstar Still you couldnt answer why Roids victory over the once beaten by a trainwreck, Hill, was so magnificent.
If tommy was a trainwreck, Hill most have been an even greater trainwreck. Which makes Roids victory over him meaningless.
Still you haven answered why Roids many bum opponent victories, are better than Rays W over LaLonde. Reason ? You can't. You only way of expression is through youtube. Everywhere else you would get laughed out of the room.
@Piglatinsuperstar I followed boxing at the time, and I knew who LaLonde was. Every boxing fan did. But Pig, you dont follow boxing. You just follow Roid..and thats the explanation of your limited knowledge about boxing. Roid is simply your wet dream, your in love with him,
U dont like boxing,only roid. And you hate SRL because he is widely regarded a much greater fighter than Roid.
I can see you are a fan by looking thru your faves. I favor the traditional boxing heroes like Holmes, Roy Jones, Hagler, Norris, Camacho, Nunn, Bowe. what I dont like are fakes trying to pass themselves off as the real thing, getting titles as gifts, two in one night for facing a tomato can, coming back to get sloppy Hagler leftovers, then falling apart once the going gets rough against young up N comers like Norris
@Piglatinsuperstar So you can still not answer why Hearns was shot yet still went on to dominate Virgil Hill who went on to lose to your boyfriend Roid?
Which is it ? No matter what you loses. If Virgil was a bum that lost to a trainwreck, then it taints Roids victory.
If Virgil was good but only lost to the magnificent Hearns who wasnt a trainwreck, then it makes it a good win for roy, but does bad thing for your hate campaign against Ray.
So which one is it bitch. Which one you stupid cunt ?
Roy has demolished everyone from middleweights to heavyweights. and when the police were called in, what did Roy do? He demolished them too. When boxing threw it's best at him, Hopkinz & Toney (two multiple title championz) Roy turned them both back with ease. I have no doubt Roy wouldve whipped Monzon cuz Roy got all the speed & u cant outbox someone faster than U. rey lennard proved that against Terry Norris
@Piglatinsuperstar "How come Tammy couldnt hurt VH and Roy COULD? and let's please not resort to name calling. I have too much class for that"
Maybe because Virgil was a trainwreck when he fought your little stereoid abusing boyfriend. And prime when Hearns fought him. Isnt that obvious even to a roid nuthugger like yourself ?
when's the last time u saw Tammy that badly hurt in so many consecutive fights as 1987-89? Andries, Roldan, Barkley, Kinchen??
Gotta admit, I didnt think Tammy was going to make it past rd 4 w Kinchen but he did. and it's lucky for sugar that he did otherwise sugar mightve had to go callin for lalonde #2 (we know for sure Lennard wouldnt have gone calling for Micheal Nunn)
so u think u kno boxing then answer this boxing question: when sugar retired from boxing again in 1984 what was the reason? was it a) It wasnt there or 2) he couldnt handle the competition?
check back in a couple hours & ill let u know if you're right
@Piglatinsuperstar Lets also face another thing: Ruiz was a trainwreck when he STARTED boxing..and when he faced Roid, he was the MOTHER of all trainwrecks.
no expert would take that claim seriously. Kinchen, an average talent, besting the likes of 6 time p4p top fighter like Roy, who was a once in a lifetime talent at worst.
NOfriend, Kinchen would not have come close. He didnt have the speed with which to box or counter Roy's famed right lead, nor did he posses power any greater than Hopkins or Toney or anyone else for that matter. that's why it's so hard to prove your claim
For the reason that Roy was on his way out in the Tarver fight. If he caught Roy in his early years, Roy would win as he'd done over everyone in the past. If James caught Roy in his declining years as Tarver had done, then he has a fair shot
@Piglatinsuperstar Just like Ray was on his way out against Norris ? Dont you always say that you cant be on your way out when undefeated for so many years ?
To make the Norris win legit, I suppose. Of course, it gives you some explaining to do with Roid.
Btw, when your using stereoids, you should never be considered for any kind of HOF status. Then your nothing but a cheat.
did SRL have to shed 25 pounds after dropping down from heavyweight?
How ridiculous to even COMPARE leonard with the great Roy Jones. Leonard could nver handle speed, I've always said that. and when time came for him to prove it, he failed. Even during the Hagler fight (rd 6) we learn why Ray picked a fight w Hagler after 5 yrs
I quote Tim Ryan "Sugar ray said he was counting on the slowness of Hagler. he said he lost a lot of speed" meaning rey had problems with it
with Norris, it was style N speed that was rey's downfall. that's why the fight was so lopsided in Terry's favor
dont believe me? look at the first Hearns fight w lenlard. after having Tammy badly hurt, Tammy got on his bycicle and began OUTPOINTING rey! BADLY! Rey couldnt reach Tammy, couldnt handle his simple jab N dance routine
what makes u think rey would do better against an even FASTER, more mobile Terry Norris who by the way, KNEW how to clinch? See?Lenlard had no chance!
@Piglatinsuperstar With Tarver, ti was the power that was Roids downfall. That, and the fact that he never faced anyone with that kind of heavy hands.
Fighting the Clinton woods and Dana Rosenblatts of the world had made his overrated ass even softer.
No, otherwise Roy wouldve fallen the 1st time they met. Tarver hit a badly weakened Roy w everything including the kitchen sink
Roy still won. what u saw in that first fight was the shadow of Roy Jones, maybe 50% of his true self. That fite revealed that even at half strength, Roy could beat any 1. after that, it was all downhill
In fact, I was calling for Roy's retirement after the historic win over Ruiz just as I'd been calling for hagler to call it quits in '86
@Piglatinsuperstar Worng. YOu make no sense. Tarver should have gotten to him the first time then. Then you could have used that excuse. Second fight Roid had had plenty of time to adjust to his new weight. Tarver even said to him "whats your excuse now BOI" before the first bell. LOL. He should have said "Whats ur excuse now PIG".
Ur so easy to own, mostly because u dont use logic..
should have doesnt count. Roy won that first contest which shows that even at half strength, Roy was superior. Imagine at FULL strength!
unfortunately, while weakend, Roy had to do a lot of resting on the ropes where he took immense Saad muhammud like punishment. after 12, Roy had his last win but we lost a great fighter in the process. It was the last we saw of the miracle man of boxing
Lol only two good wins on ROIDS resume in more than 60 fights are a weightdrained,out of shape Toney, and a green Hopkins who BTW always was overrated. I mean comone, he lost to jermain taylor TWICE. Same Taylor who got koed bu slow plodders like Froch and Abraham.
Roid was koed so many times its sick.
Is that Roids claim to fame ? LOL . How do you even BEGIN to compare it with wins over Duran, Hearns and Hagler ? LOL !
Even Rays softer opponets like Kalule is ten times Roids softer opponents.
Roy has a lot more than that. on his way up as he blazed a trail of terror thru the middleweight ranks, dispatching leading contenders w incredible ease like a true Sugar Ray! after that, it was one world class opponent after another on his way to conquering 4 divisions. It had to be boring for Roy to rule so many wt classe w such ease
I amazed Roy could take it so far up to 175, even unifying whereas srl would not bother to defend the way Terry & Roy did
Hagler was a shell so that "win" is automatcially discounted. after subracting Hagler, we are left two-T. Hearns, 3 yrs from his peak & malnourished and Duran, an overweight lightweight campaigning two divisions up (I dont count Benitez as Wilfred couldnt do much of anything)
rey wouldve impressed had he tackled the speed N might of a young Nunn instead of the senior's tour. a 1983 w Pryor wouldve been nice or else a win over young Norris
@Piglatinsuperstar How can hagler be a shell, he hadnt lost for 11 years ? You own stupid logic...seems like everybody SRL faces are "shells" to you, and Ray is always at his best when he losses. Whenever Roid losses, he was also a shell. What tainted logic. You wouldnt win in a court, but then again, only place where they let you speak is youtube.
for the reason everyone said the fight was fixed. for the reason Tim Ryan quoted lennard (rd 6) saying "Sugar Ray said he was counting on the slowness of Hagler. he said hagler had lost A LOT OF SPEED",, the reason Lennard came back
Check out lennard's last fight in uno mas. Legs working non stop, took no punishment like Hagler did w Mugabi & Hearns. he even unloaded 6-8 punch combinations. Not exactly what u look for in an over the hill fighter
@Piglatinsuperstar See against Ruiz, combos all the time. Not what you look for in an over the hill fighter. But then again, Tarver proved too much for him.
WTF u talking about! Ring Magazine Title? LOL!!! You're JOKING, right?
Roy won the middleweight, lighheavyweight, and heavyweight, the divisions of Hagler, Robinson, Saad Muhammad, Micheal Spinks, Joe Louis, Muhammad Ali. But u mustve FORGOT like Roy said! U mustve forgot that Roy won the middleweight championship!
Roy did everything lennard wanted to but was afraid to do like, defend his titles LOL!!
@Piglatinsuperstar He won portions of that title. He didnt win any lineage championship. Everyone who knows boxing knows the immense difference. And that is, my little roy jones nuthugging friend, excatly why Ray will always be the greater name.
Alphabet titles are given left and right. In ur logic Tony Tubbs HW title was as good as Alis. LOL. Damn ur retarded.
rey lennard only won a portion of the middleweight title. Hagler only possesed wbc title.
u still havent acknowledged what Tim Ryan said and I kno why. becuz you're too embarassed to face up to it and your claims about lennard wouldnt stand up.
the problem with u & your type is that u always try to STRETCH OUT what lennard did. I could see if you added a couple more names like red hot Curry & fiery Aaron Pryor. throw in Micheal Nunn & u have an all time gr8
@Piglatinsuperstar Eh so Ray must fight nunn, curry and arronpryor on top of everything else ? why is it enough for Roid to fight Toney and Bhop ? Ray fight Hagler, hearns and Duran..one more real name than Roid.
Roid avoided every other challenge like DM calzaghe and eubank. Scared fuck he was.
I favor winz over young, red hot fighterz, not past their primes-send 'em out to pasture types like Hagler (a HUGE TURNOFF!)
A win over red hot Nunn wouldve done wonderz for rey's rep or Terry Norris for tat matter. Both were slick N quick and what you call complete fighterz that could bang, box N move. What did Hagler have left? he was toothless
like they say "if u want to be the best u got to BEAT the best"
HOW STUPID! ROY JONES is the one that conquered FOUR DIVISIONS! rey lnnard didnt beat prime Hagler. for yrs Hagler stuck his hand out there offering him a fight and what did rey do? "cluck cluck cluck cluck!"
He was scared shit less of Hagler the same way he was of Nunn. Like Tim Ryan said on the tape - NO SPEED LEFT. If Lennard were even half the fighter u claim, lennard wouldve beaten Norris and w no problem
@Piglatinsuperstar Four divisions is nothing when all you fight are bums. And that record is already broken. Manny I believe has 7 titles.
I dont care about that. Linear championships, Ring Magazine, it whats worth something.
Theres about 6 sanctioning bodies now. At the time there was 4. Stupid to think that they have any value. 4 sanctioning bodies in 21 weightclasses. Thats how many champs ? LOL. Your proud that ur BF gathered 4 titles in this redicilous sea of titles ? LOLLL!
I dont think this guy ever HAD a prime. If he had, it was certainly over by the time he faced Roid.
He had been in to many slugfests, been beaten up too much. He only got the title because Holy was tested positive for stereoids. Then he was GIVEN the title, after losing to Holy that is. How ridiculous is that ? your BF beats a washed up bum who didnt even WON the title ?
And you dare compare that to SRL beating at the time P4P fighter Hagler?
I dont understand why you refer to the Hagler fite as a big accomplishment when u still havent addressed Ryan's quote on lennard. so let us terminate this play acting
Mx Kellerman didnt think Roy could pull off the win over Ruiz but in fact, Roy won ever round just like Norris won every round over lennard
How did they pull it off? with SPEED! and for Roy, he had already accomplished everything else. Winning the heavyweight ttitle was just the cherry on top.
donny laloonde sure was as hot as they come. Yeah, he was as hot as that up N coming Hagler of 1987, only ONE fight short of his retirement!
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
That's why they call him "Sugar rey Lemon". cuz people know he's not the real thing but a dud, an imposter with a lousy record of 36-3-1 (I have him rightfully at 35-5 as he JUST lost to Hagler N Tammy Hearns)
Roid only had speed against the likes of Clinton Woods..against people with power and who wasnt weightdrained, he lost..and badly..numbers a bitch aint it ? and they dont lie..koed 4 times by journeymen fighters. They sucked, but they had one thing in common: Decent power, and roid couldnt handle power. Never would, never could, never will.
Also he had problem with speed. Did you see how Calzahge outspeed him ? Beat him like a redheaded stepchild. Uh uh uh..ahum..
ya'll musta forgot! Toney & Hopkinz. it was the Roy Jones speed that shut them out on the cardz
did I mention Roy whipped Hop, w one hand & weight drained? But that was ROY for u! Roy is an American original, like Captain America and iz a LIVING LEGEND!
Roy wouldve cleaned up on Sugar rey lemon as well,, I'm sure of that. Roy Jones in THREE!
@Piglatinsuperstar Roy weightdrained and bhop was slowly getting into his prime. Rest of his wins were against bums. No denying that. Roid "Ducker" lol.
HE was infamous for ducking..imagin fighting the trainwreck called vinny paz and being proud of it LOL.
@Piglatinsuperstar Ye musta forgot. He was so forgetable. Fucking ducker, he made boxing as it is today. Full of duckers who are afraid to fight each other.
ok kid, sure,, right. My man didnt need to duck foes or screen them out for once a year farces like u kno who
DUCKER = Sugar rey lemon
Theze R the guyz he ducked for sure: Pryor, Hagler, Hearns re, - mid 80s,, Nunn, & probably Curry....He didnt duck Norris but now probably wishes he wouldve (Camacho too!)
Yeah, fighting thoze two was bad 4 hiz health,w all thoze cuncussionz he recieved, may have lost a tooth in there somewhere
@Piglatinsuperstar These are the peple roid ducked . DM, Calzaghe, Been, Eubank, Rm with toney when he wasnt weightdrained, Rematch with Bhop in the mid 90ties and Lennox Lewis at HW. Wow. Quite an astonishing list ! Ducker of the milliniums !
why would Roy duck a man he beat lopsidedly & wit one good hand? And WEIGHT DRAINED on top of it all? I didnt see anybody asking for a immediate rematch!
Then there was the Toney fight. Roy won that SO EAZY! embarassing even! No one could talk shit
Now u see the greatness of Roy Jones. as for those other guyz, they was just nobodies trying to establish their presence. Some of them had soptty records while others werent even known in the US,, like Lalonde
i think its safe to say that if u win 12/12 over Gonzalez, u can beat a non entity like DM. and Benn had a spotty record. I watched Micheal Watson stop him in 5 back in 89 and can tell u Roy was too good 4 him. Roy wouldve been a prohibitive favorite and if u dont agree then u should seek HELP
as for Toney & Hop being green, Roy was just as green as Hop! So that excuse cancels out!!! LOL LOL LOL LOL
u know what really looks crappy? Iz that Hearns was weight drained in the first fight wit Sugar rey lemon & fell just short of winning by one rd! Toney didnt come close and Roy actually WON! I forgot to mention he had a busted right hand
it's funny how people even bring people such as roy jones into this. lmao totally off generation let alone skills as these people. what is roy jones doing? isn't he rapping, haha

I think this fight was more of a publicity stunt than anything else. Ray was 40 years old for Christ sake and hadn't fought since the 80's. He should have never gotten back in the ring. Sad to see a legend go out like that especially by a chump like Hector.

@FallGuy82

Tijuananense4ever 3 weeks ago
by the way, the Leonard-Hagler fight was a fix.
Tijuananense4ever 3 weeks ago
I was also very very happy to see Leonard knocked out by Camacho or anybody else for that matter. I'll name a better fighter than him that people seem to have forgotten, Cuban born Jose "Mantequilla' Napoles, he got to be champ when he was 29 and held the crown until 35 (with a brief interruption in 1970). Nobody wanted to fight him until Curtis Cokes fought him cause he though he was done. He would of whooped Leonard and Hearns in his prime.
Tijuananense4ever 3 weeks ago
why are mxcans so trashy and cheap?
tommyg524 3 weeks ago
I forgot to add that this was a very satisfying fight for me. After being annoyed by Leonard's buffoonery all those years I found it deliciously ironic that he got knocked out by another buffoon. Leonard's charisma and marketing far exceed his true pugilistic ability.
UberGator 3 weeks ago
@UberGator your another idiot read up top....
jsan222 3 weeks ago
I agree on Camacho not being able to knock out Leonard in his prime, but if that fight would of happened it would of been a boring fight, and I don't think Leonard would of never beaten Duran in his prime,he was already 30 when they fought the first time and he was 37 when he beat Barkely, a real tough guy. Leonard got beaten badly by Terry Norris when he was only 34 years old. So, I still don't see Leonard belonging in the same league as Duran and others I mentioned earlier.
Tijuananense4ever 3 weeks ago
Although a slick fighter, Camacho would never beat Leonard in his prime,there is no way! A knockout almost impossible!
I think sugar Ray was even a better fighter the Muhammad Ali because he also could body punch he was an all-around fighter.
Frazier hurt Muhammad Ali a lot more than Duran was able to hurt sugar Ray Leonard.
pama4242 3 weeks ago
@pama4242 Leonard vs Camacho both in their prime would have been the most boring fight ever. They were both overrated and pusillanimous. They only went all out when they were dominating otherwise they would just dance all over the ring. Neither of them belong in the discussion of all time greats.
UberGator 3 weeks ago
Quite frankly Leonard does not belong or deserves to be mentioned with the likes of Ali, Louis or Duran, these were great fighters. Hagler was another over rated one.
Tijuananense4ever 3 weeks ago

frisbyrb5 3 weeks ago
Leonard is one of the most over rated fighters of all time, who did he beat anyway? guys like Donny Lalonde, Ayub Kalule, Hagler who was over rated himself, etc. Granted he did beat Hearns and Duran kinda, but waited till they got older to fight them again, Hearns kicked his ass in the rematch dropping him twice and got a gift from the judges giving him a draw, he alwyas got gifts, remember Kevin Howard, he dropped Leonard and was winning when the fight was stopped prematurely. OVER RATED.
Tijuananense4ever 4 weeks ago 2
@Tijuananense4ever You could make that argument for every great fighter: Louis, Ali, Hearns, Duran, Hagler, Pep, Dempsey. They're all overrated.

YOUR AN IDIOT
jsan222 3 weeks ago 2
@jsan222
and yet ended up with a ring record of only 36-3-1. if you dont think that's special, it's becuz it aint!
he couldnt handle fighters with excellent handspeed like Norris & Camacho.
Piglatinsuperstar 2 weeks ago
@Piglatinsuperstar I'd rather have a 36-3-1 against HOF finest instead of a record of 55-8 against bum opponents, and getting knocked out 4 times against thrash.

@Piglatinsuperstar wow are you serious right now? i dont know if your joking... first of all roy jones is in a different weight class duck! lol rjj was a middle weight light heay he even fought at heavyweight for god sakes .... lastly ray leonard lost 2 fights!!! in his end of his career he was old!!!!! hahaha wow the same thing that happen to all greats ali, roy jones, deloya, they lose when they get old and retire... .. smh
jsan222 3 days ago
@jsan222

Leonard was unbeaten in 11 yrs when Norris totally schooled him too!
And yes, I LOVE the beating & humiliation Camacho meted out on Gay leonard. Ray was just beaten by a better boxer! The similarities between Camacho & ali was astounding; ring intelligence, ring smartz, hand & foot speed. let's be honest and just admit Camacho was just better than him, give him his due and leave it at that
hector was the amller man moving up from 130 in the early 80s. Not to mention he'd been washed up since 1990 yet he DID move up and he DID knock out Ray Leonard. Hector was better, smarter, faster, tougher, and more ringwise. Sugar just couldnt cope with his smats & toughness and paid the price
Piglatinsuperstar 1 month ago
@combatesdeboxeo

@B04Jordan On form,in his welter prime,the night he beat hearns,only a few in history had a chance.Duran should never have beaten leonard,he pissed leonard off by saying he was going to make leonards wife his girlfriend !This infuriated ray to the point where he tried to ko duran in the first fight and it backfired.The second fight you saw the real leonard,he put a whippin on duran and duran said,"no mas,adios"
fadethetrade 1 week ago
@fadethetrade
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
the blazing handspeed of Camacho, Norris, Floyd, Roy Jones, people like that (Micheal Nunn) was amazing. leonard could never do well against people like that
In fact I have a computer program that confirms this when I pit them against Sugar, he loses every time (the computer cannot lie and shows no partiality)
this was confirmed the nite Norris outsped Leonard and again when Camacho humlbed him for all time. As for Nunn, I think Mike would have destroyed Leonard within five
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
Roy Jones would have straight up KICKED HIS ASS! no way Sugar could possibly win that one

B04Jordan 1 week ago
@B04Jordan
what glass jaw? During his first 15 yrs as a professional I never once saw it break including bouts with Hopkins & Toney. On the other hand, I saw Sugar Ray hit the deck all kinds of times, 1984, 1988, twice in 89, twice in 91, & was KO'd by Camacho
he even got hurt in his second pro fight by Rodriquez, again by slapper Geraldo in 79. You didnt see Roy getting hurt like Leonard would. And Roy was far, far faster. so was Terry Norris. Sugar wasnt good at handling fast opponents
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar roy was a great fighter but has used image to claim he was untouchable in his prime, he fought no hard hitters in the league of hearns or hagler, if you could hit roy clean he would go down...and would not get up...I RESPECT HIM...but no fighter "cant be touched":)
B04Jordan 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar RJJ didnt have glassjaw ? Home come he has been knocked out more than any other fighter alive today ? I mean comeone, knocked out by Danny Green and Lebedev just to name a few ? SRL never lost to that kind of weak opposition.
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Dont forget RJJ cherrypicked most of his opponents, prefered to fight parttime policeofficers and garbagemen when there were real challenges like Darius, Calzaghe and Eubank...then he just said im too good for them and went on to fight people ten times worse. What a fag he was. His socalled historic fight vs Ruiz was a gigantic joke, Ruiz had the title only because Holy was tested positive for stereoid after the fight, and Ruiz was given back the title. What a joke performance
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
Hearns walking trainwreck in 89 ? He beat a prime Virgil Hill years later. The same hill that Roid beat a 40 year old version of..a fight that you are mighty proud of..
So a shot Hearns beats a prime Virgil and a prime Roy beats a virtually show virgil years later..isnt that a little hard for you to explain to urself ?
Then endless string of bums that Roid beat is incomparable to any other bumstreak in the history. Luis had a bum of the month club,but at least he admitted they were bums
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
like I said, he was a trainwreck.

It was as sad as the lalonde matchup. Let's not forget Tammy's many recent near misses w Kinchen, Roldan, & HOW BOUT THAT BARKLEY FIGHT!
as for Virgil, you mean that guy who doubled over from a Roy Jones body shot!
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Yes that Virgil and that bodyshot, only a shot version of Hill.

Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
ROid was never a good body puncher..he was never any puncher at all. he only fought hasbeens or bums. Facts and numbers dont lie. As soon as he fought people with legit power, he got koed. Facts.

@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Only two good wins on Roys record, rest are bums. Total and uttter trash.
And Toney was weightdrained and didnt train properly for that fight.
Bhop didnt reach his full potential until 3-4 years later. That version of Bhop would have easely koed roid. Thats the reason Roid didnt give him a remach.
When they finally did fight again, Bhop showed him he was the much better man.
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Virgil hill was a trainwreck by the time he faced Roid lol.
Bhop was still getting into his prime and was too green at the time. 2 years later would have been different but roid chose to duck as always. DM was just getting out of his prime and lost his last fight agains JC..he waited years for Roid to fight him but roid was too scared
SRL never lost to B and C fighters the way Roid does.And was never out cold.
Also Roid was on roids, so ost of his wins are cheats
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
well u know, I could see your point IF Roy hadnt had a busted hand and not winning a lopsided contest with a busted hand
so you see how it iz! Your claims just make you look foolish
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar They turned pro same year but BHop matured and came into his style later.. Just like Hearns had this window of 2 1/2 years that you keep talking about, similar with Bhop...and Roid ducked him during that window. And ducked DM and pretty and much any other fighter that he wasnt sure of beating. He even tried to make HBO stop talking about DM completely...to pretend he didnt exist..he knew that DM would give him the Lebedev treatment.
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
bullshit. "Hopkins just matured later"
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Yea bullshit "Hopkins matured later". I recall you said something similar about Hearns, to diminish Rays victory.
See, everything you say about Ray, I can about Roud, just ten times worse.
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar So ill keep to one point at a time, though ill adress the weight issue soon.
Was tommy a trainwreck or not ? And what does that say about Roids victory or Hill and more importantly, what does it say about who he chose to fight ?
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
didnt I just say that? Roldan nearly finished him. Barkley fuined him. and w Kinchen it was life & death the whole way. It was a disgarce for Sugar to pick a fight with Tammy the same way it was for him to pick a fight w Lalonde. No one even knew who lalonde was
and then there was picking a fight w Marvin after 5, 6 yrs. U wouldnt see Roy concocting these pretend retirements. that's what seperates Jones from Sugar. I'm glad Roy didnt turn out to be another lennard
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar So you conclude that Tommy was a trainwreck right ?
Ok then, a trainwreck beat a prime Hill. Guess that makes even a prime hill a trainwreck also right ?
So are you still proud about Roid fighting a middleaged fighter who, even in his prime, was a trainwreck ?
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar " It was a disgarce for Sugar to pick a fight with Tammy the same way it was for him to pick a fight w Lalonde. No one even knew who lalonde was"
I knew who LaLonde was. Everyone who knew boxing knew him. He earned his shot with some good wins.
So it wasnt a disgrace for Roid to fight Ruiz ? 95% of Roids record consists of fighters who noone knew who was. Even people who knew boxing didnt know them. Even LaLonde was better than those guys.

@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
It was like HANDING Sugar 2 titles. Lalonde clearly wasnt a qualified fighter and had it not been for his extremely low levels of ability it's obvious SRL never would have selected him as an opponent
Now take Roy Jones. Roy wouldve had too much pride in himself to do that. act like he was incapacitated for three yrs, then suddenly come out saying "I'm back! Wanna fight?"
I just dont believe in people like that. Somehow the matches wi mediocrities always get made but not Hagler or Nunn-srl?
Piglatinsuperstar 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Still you couldnt answer why Roids victory over the once beaten by a trainwreck, Hill, was so magnificent.
If tommy was a trainwreck, Hill most have been an even greater trainwreck. Which makes Roids victory over him meaningless.
Still you haven answered why Roids many bum opponent victories, are better than Rays W over LaLonde. Reason ? You can't. You only way of expression is through youtube. Everywhere else you would get laughed out of the room.
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@Piglatinsuperstar I followed boxing at the time, and I knew who LaLonde was. Every boxing fan did. But Pig, you dont follow boxing. You just follow Roid..and thats the explanation of your limited knowledge about boxing. Roid is simply your wet dream, your in love with him,
U dont like boxing,only roid. And you hate SRL because he is widely regarded a much greater fighter than Roid.
TheBestBoxingGame 1 week ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Roy, Nunn, wouldve had no problem with rey
Piglatinsuperstar 6 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar So you can still not answer why Hearns was shot yet still went on to dominate Virgil Hill who went on to lose to your boyfriend Roid?
Which is it ? No matter what you loses. If Virgil was a bum that lost to a trainwreck, then it taints Roids victory.
If Virgil was good but only lost to the magnificent Hearns who wasnt a trainwreck, then it makes it a good win for roy, but does bad thing for your hate campaign against Ray.
So which one is it bitch. Which one you stupid cunt ?
TheBestBoxingGame 6 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
I keep telling you Hearns was a trainwreck. there's no use denying the obvious!
As for Hill losing to Hearns I already told you. Cant read? Tommy merely outpointed him while Roy DEMOLISHED him!
How come Tammy couldnt hurt VH and Roy COULD? and let's please not resort to name calling. I have too much class for that
Piglatinsuperstar 6 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar So your proud of Roid demolishing a middleaged boxer who in in prime lost to a trainwreck ?
Answer that. BIATCH !
TheBestBoxingGame 6 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 6 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar "How come Tammy couldnt hurt VH and Roy COULD? and let's please not resort to name calling. I have too much class for that"
Maybe because Virgil was a trainwreck when he fought your little stereoid abusing boyfriend. And prime when Hearns fought him. Isnt that obvious even to a roid nuthugger like yourself ?
TheBestBoxingGame 6 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
when's the last time u saw Tammy that badly hurt in so many consecutive fights as 1987-89? Andries, Roldan, Barkley, Kinchen??
Gotta admit, I didnt think Tammy was going to make it past rd 4 w Kinchen but he did. and it's lucky for sugar that he did otherwise sugar mightve had to go callin for lalonde #2 (we know for sure Lennard wouldnt have gone calling for Micheal Nunn)
Piglatinsuperstar 6 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Virgil was a trainwreck when Roid fought him, lets face it.
TheBestBoxingGame 6 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Yeah sure kid sure
so u think u kno boxing then answer this boxing question: when sugar retired from boxing again in 1984 what was the reason? was it a) It wasnt there or 2) he couldnt handle the competition?
check back in a couple hours & ill let u know if you're right
Piglatinsuperstar 6 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Lets also face another thing: Ruiz was a trainwreck when he STARTED boxing..and when he faced Roid, he was the MOTHER of all trainwrecks.
TheBestBoxingGame 6 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Kinchen would have knocked Roid out. If lebedev could, Kinchen for sure could also.
TheBestBoxingGame 6 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
it's easy to say it, but hard to prove it
no expert would take that claim seriously.
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
Tammy Hearns: 1988's trainwreck of the year
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar John Ruiz, 2001 to 2012 bum and trainwreck of the year.
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Well when Tarver could do it...why wouldnt Kinchen be able to ?
Roid was unbeaten for 11 years so dont come up with excuses, Tarver just had too much power for him. Thats power. P-o-w-e-r. POWER !
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
For the reason that Roy was on his way out in the Tarver fight. If he caught Roy in his early years, Roy would win as he'd done over everyone in the past. If James caught Roy in his declining years as Tarver had done, then he has a fair shot
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Just like Ray was on his way out against Norris ? Dont you always say that you cant be on your way out when undefeated for so many years ?
To make the Norris win legit, I suppose. Of course, it gives you some explaining to do with Roid.
Btw, when your using stereoids, you should never be considered for any kind of HOF status. Then your nothing but a cheat.
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
did SRL have to shed 25 pounds after dropping down from heavyweight?
How ridiculous to even COMPARE leonard with the great Roy Jones. Leonard could nver handle speed, I've always said that. and when time came for him to prove it, he failed. Even during the Hagler fight (rd 6) we learn why Ray picked a fight w Hagler after 5 yrs
I quote Tim Ryan "Sugar ray said he was counting on the slowness of Hagler. he said he lost a lot of speed" meaning rey had problems with it
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
with Norris, it was style N speed that was rey's downfall. that's why the fight was so lopsided in Terry's favor
dont believe me? look at the first Hearns fight w lenlard. after having Tammy badly hurt, Tammy got on his bycicle and began OUTPOINTING rey! BADLY! Rey couldnt reach Tammy, couldnt handle his simple jab N dance routine
what makes u think rey would do better against an even FASTER, more mobile Terry Norris who by the way, KNEW how to clinch? See?Lenlard had no chance!
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar With Tarver, ti was the power that was Roids downfall. That, and the fact that he never faced anyone with that kind of heavy hands.
Fighting the Clinton woods and Dana Rosenblatts of the world had made his overrated ass even softer.
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
In fact, I was calling for Roy's retirement after the historic win over Ruiz just as I'd been calling for hagler to call it quits in '86
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Worng. YOu make no sense. Tarver should have gotten to him the first time then. Then you could have used that excuse. Second fight Roid had had plenty of time to adjust to his new weight. Tarver even said to him "whats your excuse now BOI" before the first bell. LOL. He should have said "Whats ur excuse now PIG".
Ur so easy to own, mostly because u dont use logic..
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
should have doesnt count.
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
I amazed Roy could take it so far up to 175, even unifying whereas srl would not bother to defend the way Terry & Roy did
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
Hagler was a shell so that "win" is automatcially discounted. after subracting Hagler, we are left two-T. Hearns, 3 yrs from his peak & malnourished and Duran, an overweight lightweight campaigning two divisions up (I dont count Benitez as Wilfred couldnt do much of anything)
rey wouldve impressed had he tackled the speed N might of a young Nunn instead of the senior's tour. a 1983 w Pryor wouldve been nice or else a win over young Norris
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar How can hagler be a shell, he hadnt lost for 11 years ? You own stupid logic...seems like everybody SRL faces are "shells" to you, and Ray is always at his best when he losses. Whenever Roid losses, he was also a shell. What tainted logic. You wouldnt win in a court, but then again, only place where they let you speak is youtube.
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
for the reason everyone said the fight was fixed. for the reason Tim Ryan quoted lennard (rd 6) saying "Sugar Ray said he was counting on the slowness of Hagler. he said hagler had lost A LOT OF SPEED",, the reason Lennard came back
Check out lennard's last fight in uno mas. Legs working non stop, took no punishment like Hagler did w Mugabi & Hearns. he even unloaded 6-8 punch combinations. Not exactly what u look for in an over the hill fighter
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar See against Ruiz, combos all the time. Not what you look for in an over the hill fighter. But then again, Tarver proved too much for him.
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Ruiz, Clinton Woods, Hill, Pazienza etc etc (94% of roids record) are bums and shells, so those wins are automatically discarded.
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
"it was one world class opponent after another on his way to conquering 4 divisions."
Wat ? You mean he won so many useless fractions of useless alphabet titles ?
SRL won Ring Mazine welter and middleweight championship. You cant compare that to beating up Ruiz
Roid only won Ring Magazine LH championship. And light heavy has always been ligthly regarded. ONE division. Rest of his titles are garbage.
SRL won two titles in classic divisions that go back to Robinson and Monzon.
ROID=paper champ
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Roy did everything lennard wanted to but was afraid to do like, defend his titles LOL!!
.
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar He won portions of that title. He didnt win any lineage championship. Everyone who knows boxing knows the immense difference. And that is, my little roy jones nuthugging friend, excatly why Ray will always be the greater name.
Alphabet titles are given left and right. In ur logic Tony Tubbs HW title was as good as Alis. LOL. Damn ur retarded.
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
rey lennard only won a portion of the middleweight title.
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Eh so Ray must fight nunn, curry and arronpryor on top of everything else ? why is it enough for Roid to fight Toney and Bhop ? Ray fight Hagler, hearns and Duran..one more real name than Roid.
Roid avoided every other challenge like DM calzaghe and eubank. Scared fuck he was.
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar "I favor winz over young, red hot fighterz, not past their primes-s"
And of course thats why u favor Roid to fight Ruiz right ? LOL
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
and what do you mean by "everything else"?
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar Four divisions is nothing when all you fight are bums. And that record is already broken. Manny I believe has 7 titles.
I dont care about that. Linear championships, Ring Magazine, it whats worth something.
Theres about 6 sanctioning bodies now. At the time there was 4. Stupid to think that they have any value. 4 sanctioning bodies in 21 weightclasses. Thats how many champs ? LOL. Your proud that ur BF gathered 4 titles in this redicilous sea of titles ? LOLLL!
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
Ruiz was certainly a Red hot, prime fighter. LOL
TheBestBoxingGame 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
@TheBestBoxingGame
donny laloonde sure was as hot as they come.
Piglatinsuperstar 5 days ago
Roid only had speed against the likes of Clinton Woods..against people with power and who wasnt weightdrained, he lost..and badly..numbers a bitch aint it ? and they dont lie..koed 4 times by journeymen fighters. They sucked, but they had one thing in common: Decent power, and roid couldnt handle power. Never would, never could, never will.
Also he had problem with speed. Did you see how Calzahge outspeed him ? Beat him like a redheaded stepchild. Uh uh uh..ahum..

Piglatinsuperstar 4 days ago
@Piglatinsuperstar LaLonde was ten times better than 99% of roids record. If roid was so good why he fight clinton woods and pazienza and not DM ?
His reason, DM not good enough to fite me, so i fite a total bum like clinton woods instead..real logic.
People asked for rm with Toney only Roid wouldnt give it to him. He was scared to face an in shape Toney.
TheBestBoxingGame 4 days ago

anywayz we all know Julio Gonzalez whipped overrated DM eazy & Roy whipped Julio NO PROBLEM! Just like he did w Toney & Hopkinz. Iznt Roy amazing?

i think its safe to say that if u win 12/12 over Gonzalez, u can beat a non entity like DM. and Benn had a spotty record.
