I've always loved this song, and frankly yeah, ocean's eleven, or twelve have this amazing song at the end, and well, yes, it's an okay action flick, but this movie reminded me that song. Does it matter really where we came from? Even if it's Twilight? We came to listen to an amazing song. Each and everyone's journey is his own to keep and treasure.
This is suck a wonderful piece of music. My mother loved classical music and played it while I was young and growing up. It now makes me cry remembering her. Hello, Mom! I Love and Miss You so much.
@IMSVampire101 Yes, the piece happens to be used in Twilight, but it long pre-dates that film. If that's all you can respond to it, then you really shouldn't be commenting. Or living.
@APerson1417 I shouldn't be living? Pfft. If you don't like Twilight, why did you even respond to my comment? I was just saying what I thought about it. No need to be all serious. Jesus.. who's wasting their time now? -.-
@IMSVampire101 It's because I don't like Twilight that I responded to your comment (obviously), since I don't want to see ridiculous, vampire-related comments from morons such as yourself on this video. I found myself irritated by your stupidity and shallow character to the extent that I wanted to reply and make you think twice before you spread your ignorance over the world. If you were to take some lesson from what I said (stop making idiotic comments) then it wouldn't be a waste of time.
@APerson1417 Then keep your opinion to yourself. Do you see anyone else responding to my comment? NO. Because they actually know how to mind they're own buisness! So shut up and find something else to do. Because i'm sick of arguing over something you don't like. I like Twilight. You don't. BIG DEAL. I'm done with this coversation. -.-
@IMSVampire101 the point is not (or should not be) that you like twilight and he doesnt rather that you said this song is from twilight and this sentence is totally wrong: like the other guy said it is used in this movie but debussy wrote this masterpiece much earlyer, thats the point ;)
@TheNarutoflo Okay..? I don't really care when it was made. My friend was just gonna do this song for a talent show, and she wanted me to watch it. Soo, I just wanted to tell what I first thought of it..
@IMSVampire101 Claude Debussy doit se retourner dans sa tombe en entendant des "redneck" associer son nom à un film de vampires.
and it's just sad to notice that the best opportunity that have be given to such a great artist and an original romantic, to reveal his music to the world, is some big audience, low quality movie.
just chomping at a steak thinking about the auntie i just used to 4vbisit on sunday but how shes got some guy calle alan zheimers on my own whaddaya go debussy and youtube you shined a little shit into a lonely persons liFE WHAYDONTYAJUST!!!"!"!"!!!!!
Beautiful. Interesting ultrasafe and controling technique, padding the notes twice, ready before striking quite a lot. Shame we cut away from the fingers in the most impressive bit! (2:40)
whoever disliked this was blind and when attempting to press the "like" button, they got the dislike button OR they weren't blind and thought "dislike" said "dis i like"
So gentle but powerful and moving. One of the best songs ever written in my opinion. This was beautifully done. Debussy was incredible. Thank you for posting this wonderful piece.
Did anyone ever see that movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray? Remember when he took piano lessons everyday while living the same day over and over again? This would be the song I would learn and master if that movie's plot happened to me, and I would have mastered it in 1 day :D
This gentleman knows his way around the Steinway Grand Piano. I find it amazing how many of our comments are that our Mothers played this melody for us as children.
Esta es ......una hermosa composición que brota desde lo mas profundo del alma y el espíritu. Gracias a todo lo mas bello que Dios nos da para ser felices !!!
This performance is great because he doesn't rush it. It's pretty hard to make Clair de Lune unenjoyable but listening to it played too fast is such a bummer.
This is one of the most amazing performances I've ever heard. He plays beautifully and I'm sure it has a lot to do with that piano too. One of the absolute best!
I agree with the previous comment as well. Becoming one with the music must be an unspeakable feeling....
i bet there is nothing else in the world he thinks of when he plays piano.. imagine feeling that, like complete satisfaction. Being one with the piano.. i bet its something everyone dreams of. Like lust for instance... Perfection.
This is my favorite composition. I never get tired of it. I listen to it before I go to sleep. It brings me painful memories, but I don't care- I love it.
Sound quality isn't the best, but it was very very well played in this video, he does a great job on his dynamics and this video helps me know how I would like to play this piece.
@Rolosmakemegohyper if u can't read sheet music fluently download synthersia (free software) and the MIDI file for it... there both easy to find on google

This man really did this piece justice. He has earned the right to play such a delicate piece of music, it makes me scared to play it but at the same time makes me want to make a sound as good as this. Man I'd love to sit down with this man and listen to him talk and play
Its a little slow ,but as "whifraz " says each pianist has their own take on the peice. I do lke his passion on the corner stone movement of the peice . Bravo !
it took me a while to find this slower version which is, in my oppinion, much less rushed. this piece is so calming, but i find the faster variations have the opposit effect. this is a great performance, and i would have loved to have been there to see it live!
beautiful, sounds a bit like the way I play it and personally I like this much more than the faster tempo people normally play it. I've always found that Debussy pieces are meant to be interpretive rather than reading it straight from the sheet music.
This performance is incredible. I play it over and over and still can't seem to get enough of the emotions that I feel from the music and the pianist.
@msmiley01 Keep practicing =) eventually once you get good enough, your fingers just pick up the emotion that you feel. I've been practicing for like 5 months to get it PERFECT and I'm almost there.
I always thought that the normal tempo was a bit too fast. I thought I was alone in the fact that I like letting some notes ring out. Refreshing to see this guy had the same idea
I use to hold my baby girl in my arms every night and play this for her till she fell asleep. The just sit and be thankful for the love I was given. She is 7 now and I still do that. I love my little girl so much.
Absolutely stunning. You my friend, have raw talent. The timing was spot on, you played every note flawlessly, and the emotion was just oozing from the keys.
