You don't root them in water! They get waterroots and once put in soil these roots are unfit and the plant will have to put new energy in making soil roots. You loose at least 2-3 weeks before the plant really starts growing and blooming.

Put them in a sunny spot indoor and water just as you would if it was planted outside or as you would water your indoor plant. These planta will stay alive for the whole winter. Comes next summmer, move them outside and plant them the ground =]
You get multiple plants from one single plant this way.

i used to raise "crystal palace gem" (the kind that she has) in the greenhouse but i threw most of them away, because theyre FAR too stringy.
