Thank you for posting this! I remember this all to well, lol. I remember most arcades had carpet back then, and sometimes you would get a static charge build up from walking on the rug, which sometimes would transfer into the quarters in your pocket. If you inserted a static charged quarter into the game, it would cause it to malfunction and you would get this screen of death and also lose your quarter, resulting in many smashed knuckles from fists pounding the fucking machine! lol
