It's something about his voice. I have never heard a voice like this before. I doubt I ever will. It's magical. Draws you in. Commands your attention. It's just sensational. I don't understand a word he says, but he makes me feel what he's saying. Man, don't even know how to explain. I fell in love at a young age, as I sat in my father's car back in Africa. Very narrative: the sense I get from this is absolutely pride- or rather, what Africanism should be. It is telling of a story that has yet to become. I remeber watching Mr. Keita live when I was just a young boy- about 7, 9 or so: in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has been part of my being since then- though only now, as a 24 year old man, I now realise in what ways he has become thus!! Thank you Salif for rekindling my pride as an African.
