  • It's something about his voice. I have never heard a voice like this before. I doubt I ever will. It's magical. Draws you in. Commands your attention. It's just sensational. I don't understand a word he says, but he makes me feel what he's saying. Man, don't even know how to explain. I fell in love at a young age, as I sat in my father's car back in Africa. I forgot about him for a while, until I re-discovered him on here. He will always be my favourite. Won't ever forget again.

  • @kweencessX the voice you're hearing's from his heart

    that's why u can't resist. i'am with u my brother its magical.

    peace.

  • @almamya

Yes, directly from the heart. He blows my mind man. I hope to meet him one day. It will probably never happen, but I hope it does. If not that, then at least see him live.

  • @kweencessX may your wish become real. never stop believing my brother

this world belong to us to enjoy whatever is in it. as long as your wish is real,

and not selfish, you'll have the forces of goodness in your side at all the time to

help you achieve whatever you desire. peace.

  • I just downloaded this mp3 at mp3iffy. Check that site out - its sick. Google mp3iffy

  • WOMAD 2010 YES PLEASE

  • This guy is a genius.I had an opportunity to interview him in October 2003 in Stockolm. His modesty and vision for the whole Africa is just amazing.Very articulate in his take on global issues.May you live Salif...

  • I have this cd and i have to say that i listen to it everyday.I love salif

  • l'ariste hor competition le meuilleur du monde qui dit mieux ? si vous pouvier comprendre comme je le comprend vous ne direr pas mieux.

  • Salif, you embody African pride and epitomise the creative force that draws upon a rich heritage of creativity, talent and love. God bless you!

  • I agree. For me this song epitomises African pride: not in the negative [meaning defining ourselves in the contra] But, rather, an authentic sense of self-pride. The eradication of an inferiority complex- better still; there never having been one in the first place. What Steve Biko and others extolled is here expressed in music.

  • bravissimo

  • God I love this man. A pure representation of pride in Africa. God bless us all. Especially our enemies.

  • From a danish in the cold north i just say: wish i was in africa where music like this i playing

  • This blonde Turkish brother of yours says: God Bless Salif Keita, Amin.

  • Very narrative: the sense I get from this is absolutely pride- or rather, what Africanism should be. It is telling of a story that has yet to become. I remeber watching Mr. Keita live when I was just a young boy- about 7, 9 or so: in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has been part of my being since then- though only now, as a 24 year old man, I now realise in what ways he has become thus!! Thank you Salif for rekindling my pride as an African.

  • his voice is magical

  • Very touching voice Salif, I just can't get enouch

  • With the late great Joe Zawinul on keyboards & producing. Sometimes it sound like Joe was jamming on keyboards by himself to the track, no response from other instruments, drums or programming etc. But it's so great they worked together - it was a great concept Long live them both in life & music

  • @paapakobe Yeah, the track is gorgeous as it is, but with Zawinul tastefully throwing in those hip and beautiful reharmonizations, it makes it even that much better.

  • salut tt le monde!

  • merci,salif

  • j'adore tous ce que tu fait

  • I love the song! So powerful! I'm so proud to be African! lol

  • Kuma: the art of talking. This is actually the most smartest and the most eloquent songs from Salif.

"Dont you know that words are very important? Dont you see how big is the swath words have cut in the horizon? Ask a lawyer he/she would explain to you the importance of words; do not go around talking trash aimlessly words are learned and they would make 1 cent into 3. .... they also can get u in trouble! Idabara Ma Doy La: Keep ur mouth shut unless u have something good to say.

  • Excellent. Thank you for the translation.

  • Tu fait rentrer le bonheur chez moi salif! Merci!!!
