@BrendonJD how did you get over that hurdle. I guess, does the job and your beliefs conflict. I have thought about joining the military a lot, but I worry about being disheartened. I too am a libertarian, and if the need arises I believe in picking up a weapon in defense of my country, and the constitution, and my own freedom.
@diapasonify and how is that a problem? the public policy they promote is against the priviliges corporations get nowadays (like subsidies). they wanna get rid of crony capitalism. besides, many think tanks are funded by corporations, libertarian think tanks, progressive think tanks, conservative think tanks, even the website moveon.org receives money from corporations. and last, it's not like corporations are all bad
I hope Obama doesn't hear about these future officers thinking for themselves. When Stalin started his "progressive" movement in Russia he started by killing 40 000 military officers who opposed his communist agenda. I hope these young people are prepared for the back stab in case it goes that far. If they studied history they will know, good people always have to watch their backs.

I just noticed that David Boaz kind of looks like Haley Joel Osment. Love CATO, love the judge!

I really like Boaz.
He is libertarian and positive.
Optimism is really important, especially these days.
Free minds and free markets!

No kidding, Boaz is pretty much the only optimistic libertarian around. His speech at Freedom Fest was really inspiring

news like this, and seeing the Ron Paul movement etc gives me a little faith in the future.

As a veteran on the US Army, I can say that Ron Paul is quite popular with the troopers.

Undergraduate students.
CountArtha 2 years ago
yea, but i wouldn't refer to them as "kids". that's my point.
hpso12xu 2 years ago
Yeah, I know. I have heard many a student refer to himself as a "kid," though.
