  • that gooey stuff looks kinda nice

  • love indonesia.....

  • I wonder if they washed there hands? O.o

  • people are amazing....we can learn from each other...........

  • We use that same 'goo' for paper mache projects in Malaysia. And I know what it tastes like, lol. (Don't all kids taste everything?) Not very nice! :)

  • This documentary must be old. Primitive is not a part of any anthropologist's jargon any longer.

  • whats the documentry called

  • It looks yummy like tepioca..hmmm

  • its brilliant how God gave them the great idea to do this

  • @sikasika100 whos that?

  • mmm,mmm,mmm i freaking love sago

  • @OfficiallyWinning Clearly you've tried it. So let me ask you, what does it taste like?

  • This goes great with abit of lemon juice, and condensed milk

  • I think it taste like coconut.

  • Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for the food. Wow, palm tree became food for a year! What a humble meal! I am so spoiled. They have such friendly communities, they put our modern societies to shame. I don't suppose they have high blood pressure, over weight, cardio problems. Survival food. Wow.

  • @Standingwithfeast eat palmtrees then.. noones stopping you :)

  • @Standingwithfeast fuck your lord... he killed many of those and my people...

  • that's call pour natural food

  • Kinda looks like mochi.

  • Out of curiosity, (And because im starving atm) I googled Sago Flour and found one website (alibaba dot c0m) I think ima try it

  • Did you see how close his feet was to that axe?

  • @Renato123bom They believe in "god" because they are afraid to die and would prefer to think that they would live forever after they die.

  • the gooey stuff looked kinda good, i'm tempted to eat some.........

  • its just gooey starch, nothing weird about it. its basically tasteless like rice

  • @ 5:04 - "...But because it's the national dish, we pretend to enjoy it..." LOL!!!

I wonder how that gooey stuff tastes like. I'd like to try that once. :D

  • @barrin666 Sago flour can be brought in supermarkets. which was processed in industrial scale instead of their traditional method. and u jz mix them with hot water and keep stirring. u can even use it as glue for ur paper, which my mom and teacher taught me in elementry school :-)

  • @barrin666 thats what she said (; had to say it lol

  • The sago and coconut pancakes didn't look awful, but that "pudding slime" was... wow. Just wow.

  • These people are so incredible. Who would have thought to do something like this ya' know? If we just suddenly lost all technology and were reverted back to primitive methods, most people of the world would die in less than a week...

  • THANK GOD FOR YOUR FOOD CUZ PEOPLE HAVE TO WORK HARD FOR IT BUT THEY ARE STILL BLESSED BY THE LAND

  • @liveforchrist7771 Blessed by the land? seriously? sometimes i wonder why people still believe in god lol why would i thank god for food if it's always bought from my own money which i worked for It's like i don't have any quality cuz it's all about god

  • they work really hard for food<3 i love these kinda documentary! makes me feel like im traveling too! haha. (;

  • my mouth is drooling! that looks so YUMMY!!!!!

  • @owlcitysecrets While interesting, they even said how tasteless and bland the pulp cakes and glue pudding are. I love food and while the texture looks interesting I would not say the food itself looks YUMMY unless you're one of those "Adult Picky Eaters" who doesn't eat anything but grilled cheese and plain potato chips.

  • @wakemusicalarm well, i am not an adult, ok? but i love food too!

  • It must've been hard living there. I mean, no pretty WOMAN!! THat's depressing. :)

  • @madmanisgood The english is Sago palm which is pronounced as the narrator pronounced it.

  • I want to travel!

  • ahahaha looks like there making cocaine whitout gaz

  • HOW VERY CLEVER!

  • this is so interesting!

  • thats not even weird..

  • So.. yeah,, this is why we didn't see a lot of asians on fear factor.

  • If they didn't enjoy the food, then the tribesmen would probably reveal another ancient food, which involves the guests getting eaten alive.

  • amazing! how hard it is to produce, yes i love it on my halohalo...

  • 0:26 sounds like i wana eat a cookie haha

  • wait do SOMONE eat this?

  • "we pretend to enjoy it"

  • i was born and raised in Holland but both of my parents are moluccan (maluku) and i just love papeda when you eat it with fish and mix it with the juice in the pan where you cooked the fish in with all its/your favorite spices it will be delicious!! i didnt knew this other variaties they can make with the sago flower.

  • we pretend to enjoy it xD

  • Pretend to enjoy it? Whats that supposed to mean LMFAO?

  • @DustBunii .. if they didn't enjoy the food.. they would have angerred the tribesmen .. then the whole camera crew could have been completely killed

  • @porkyminch01 Hahahaha bring it on "Nacho Libre", bring it on.

  • This is pretty cool.

  • sago is a common dessert here in Singapore. However, not much people will expect this common sight comes a long way to be served. Is extremely cheap but tasty.

  • That jelly looks delicious.

  • Why is this primitive? Just because they don't use our technology does that make them primitive? Not trying to rant here but since I have been to the rainforest I have the opinion that they are not primitive but they are just different. You don't need your WOW or nice Audi. It is nice but not having those things doesn't make you less.

  • @philateliceun I agree. I'm a linguist, and although this wasn't about language, it still sheds light on a different group of people and in my field we are not allowed to describe any language or culture as primitive.

  • Sheesh all that labor for something that doesn't have a taste

  • @emmettsluv ...How can you say it has no taste? and that hard work is for there carbs and startch, there FOOD, they work hard to survive. dumbas. Sorry they dont have fuckign bread factories or damn rice frields. Thats there bread, were you not listening? geeze.. stupid much? I think so.

  • @SoraSerenity don't get me wrong I respect what they in order to survive but i am entitled to my opinion. So BITE ME!

  • @emmettsluv and also, they said it was a veyr primitive and difficult invironment. and a whole trunk can feed an entire family for a year. so yes. All that hard work would be for somthing tht keeps them alive. UGH I just really hate ignorant people like you who thinks somthing has to taste good in order to be eaten. SO STUPID.

  • @emmettsluv : And you spend $7dls for a combo meal from Mc Shitty, but you won't complaint about their shitty taste right?

  • @emmettsluv please....refrain from watching these kind of videos...it's not like your learning anything from them.

  • @nothingnothing2 shut yr piehole and go follow yrself

  • you fukerz sittin behind your laptops , complaining about your fukin allowance should appreciate your lives. these poepl have to go throught sooo much effort to eat freakin dust. while we all just pop into macaz

  • @hustla8907 I totally fucking agree.

  • GOD DAMMITT!!! I want to eat some of that stuff!! I'm freaking tired of the American diet!! Chicken, Beef, pork, and about 20 different veggies, and 10 different fruits. BOOOOOOORRRRRRIIIINNNGGGG!!!1

  • very interesting. At first when i saw how they filter the palm's juice and storing it into buckets i was like " wtf ? do they eat this ?". After when i saw that they make some kind of bread out of it, i was very interested :D ( think it had good taste ). I wasn't very interested in that weird pudding, or w/e it was at the end.

  • amazing

  • they said "we pretend we enjoy it" near the end of the video meaning it taste bad huh?

  • racist comentator

  • That was fantastic way of making . Awesome.....much healthier than eating the god damn macdonalds. And whats that idiot talking about? "ill make army" gosh! another idiot asks if he is Asian.

  • Looks delicious.

  • Dude, stick to leaving comments about how high you are and all of the weird food looks good to you.

  • this is the authentic sago..the sago and gulaman you eat is not realy sago, usually tapioca pearls made from cassava starch..just for some fyi :)

  • wow are you asian?

  • big respect to the makers of sago..

  • Sweet vid, thanks for the upload.

  • I eat this with palm sugar, deliscious.

  • wtf?! they pretend to like it! thats so messed up..if im correct and thats the pudding sago that they showed is the one they put in "Sago and Gulaman" drink..its the BOMB! theres nothing to be disgusted about because its hella good!

  • that was genius how they made that stuff!

  • i make almond cheese the same way

  • I want to try sago!

  • This jackass narrator said they pretend to like the food lol! Stupid asshole. The crew were probably afraid that if they offended the locals they might get their head chop-off! hahaha! Next menu would be a monkey's penis and balls soup lmao!

  • Wow, very interesting

This must be a good carbohydrate replacment for them, since rice is scarce

I do remember hearing that the Polynesians in Easter Island hadn't invented bread, so they'd eat their meals with potatoes.

Sorry if I'm mistaken, just what I recall

  • almost like poi.

  • Where did they do this?

  • Human and life are geniuses

  • sago with green bean soup is great. Its good to see how sago is made and how other cultures eat it,it makes me feel very blessed.

  • SAME IN AFRICA

  • this isn't very different from tapioca.. some sugar wouldn't hurt I'm sure heh

  • wow....alot of work!!!

  • Yes it is a lot of work, but if it can feed a family for 1 year, and lasts without any refrigration, than it's worth doing every season

  • You bet. And thats a family of 5! for a whole year! Thats what I call a good investment. Probably takes about 2 - 3 days to complete the process.

  • adeh..ada jua ambuyt di irian jaya ni.. ingatkn di sbh sja..haha

  • it made me feel that food that I waste everyday is so valuable things and I have to thank to the food everyday I have..

  • amen!

  • @moymousagapwpoli yes i agreee and shame to those people demonstrating disposing food via the toilet

  • Hm...I think I've eaten that before, but in dessert form.

  • un believable, how the ancients find so many like this ,that we not did.thanks for this video.

  • I love sago with coconut milk and fresh tropical fruits. Delicious!

  • where did you try this?

  • we make sago pudding its delicious with sago, flour, sugar eggs and apricot jam mmmm or "melk kos" mmmmmmmmmmm

  • Ambuyat!! ;D i love eating the glue-like sago.

    i miss eating it.

  • I like these kind of videos! I wanna try it. lol
