If cannabis were legalized, those who would use it more regularly would probably be the type who would use it more socially and less often, paying for it with money earned from work, rather than from crime. The logic behind this is that the current users, the ones breaking the law, are the more regular users who can only afford to fund the habit by committing crimes. This would mean that crime rates would remain more or less the same.

It's not really a drug that promotes crime or violence.

You are right in that it's not the drug that promotes crime or violence, it's the prohibition. The reason there is violence, is because, there is a high demand for a product that the government has outlawed. It's EXACTLY like prohibition of alcohol. If all drugs were legal, Mexico wouldn't have lost over 7,500 people to their war on drugs and the cartels. Quite simply, the Al Capones of today wouldn't exist if drugs were legal, especially marijuana, cuz it's half their entire businesses.

Natural drugs could perhaps become legalized, but those which are synthetic and can be packed with god knows what should fade from existence.

With natural drugs legalized, the people who create the synthetic drugs would not have the money to make them. Synthetic drugs are extremely dangerous in terms of addiction and overdose.

There is no such thing as "hard drugs". Combined deaths due to illegal drugs are under 10,000/year while alcohol kills 100,000 and tobacco kills 440,000. Not only is the gateway theory a myth, but the 'hard drug' theory is also a myth. The state can't do anything right, just lie. It's time people started admitting it. Can't argue with numbers.

Drugs don't have to be from outside sources. Your body produces endogenous chemicals that 'alter' your mind, and many drugs just control these chemicals. In this sense, even sex is a drug, since it releases endorphins.

And not all drugs are psychoactive. If it doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier, it isn't psychoactive, but it is still a drug.

Learn some pharmacology for yourself, don't just accept what the state-run schools tell you.

Sure, most things don't have a noticeable effect from your point of view... But often simple dietary changes can be more effective, than the latest prescription drugs.

Just cause you don't notice it, doesn't mean it's not causing change in your brain. Some things just cause more noticeable effects, than others.

Cannabis isn't a drug, but THC and other various components in cannabis are. That doesn't mean it's a harmful drug. It just means that its chemical constituents affect your body in some way. "Drugs" aren't what the state has made them out to be. There's no reason we should think of heroin in one category and alcohol in another. They're both drugs that carry with them serious potential harm. And THC is a rather harmless drug with no physical dependence potential.
