If the governement takes away our right to get the drugs our Dr Rx's then drug companies will stop funding research to find cures and treatments in fear that even if the do find a cure or more effective treatment they won't ever be able to be properly compensated for their research and discovery. There are thousands of reasons why Gov. shouldn't run health care, this is just one.

Drug patents are just another form of regulation in what the conservatives want to be a "free market." 1 in 8 dollars goes to producing drugs and research, the rest goes to profit. In order to free up the market, the gov't should buy drug patents and release the drugs on a perfectly competitve market. With the freedom of info., we would increase efficiency, growth in technology, and get better drugs, while cutting profit from a disgusting industry.
