Aww cute! And I'm just like yorkie's I'm smart but stubborn!! Lol my bff Natalia just got a new yorkie it's a boy and she sent me a pic of it it's sooo cute
Every time we teach our Yorkie tricks we use our version of sign language. Like for jump we tap are hand. I taught our Yorkie to shake in less than a minute. He's an extremely fast learner. :) BTW your Yorkie is cute.
Smart york you have...My york have learn 19 trick's yea in 3 mounth Mojo have 12 mounth now. And i try to learn level on 2 paw... i success some time but difficulte to my 8 1/2 lbs yorkie....
I have one, his name is Yooji. I hired trainers for him cause Im not really good at training dogs, but I'll make sure I'll be able to teach him some too. Such a cute pup =)
You have obviously spent some time training this dog and it shows! You should try being more consistent with the words that you use to get him/her to do tricks so that it doesn't get confused. For example, at one point you were saying "sit pretty" to get him/her to do it, and at another you were saying "up" to get him/her to do the same trick. Be consistent and the dog will respond better. I have 2 yorkies of my own.
i have a question, i'm gunna get a yorkie after a month 100% and i was wondering how do you teach dogs to do the actual moves? i know that they have to do the move and you give them treats but how do you show them the actual moves?
You buy a training clicker. They are cheap on ebay. You start off by holding the treat in front of them and moving the treat to the positition you want them to go to. When they reach that position you click the clicker. You gradually fade out the treats to just the clicker and then you start speaking the command to them. It takes a few days or even weeks but they will learn the trick. Hope that helps :)
can you believe that yorkies are listed as 29th smartest dog........I have to disagree COMPLETELY! My yorkie does all that too and she is SOO easy to teach!! They should be #1.
Just go thru the movements you want the dog to do and practice, practice, practice! Also be sure to reward with there favorite treat when they do the trick! :)
There are not easy to train, just be consistent...they are very smart once they get the hang of it! :) Good luck. It took us 6mts to get her trained with most of her tricks and pottying. She is always learning more, I will put an updated video!
Well we got a late start on training 6mts, but after she turned one everything just clicked...Just be persistant and find a good treat to help train. I use Pet Botanics beef snack-treat training rewards from Pets Mart it's one of the only treats she loves.
Can you possibly help me with a question. My Yorkie is 10 months old, and is extremely finicky when it comes to eating. Is there any particular food you recommend? thanks and also how old is your Yorkie. Appreciate it.
We use Royal Canine, it is specific to breed - you can get a food just for Yorkies. She is not a big treat eater (see above) those are one of the only treats she loves and responds well with. Sissy will be 3 this Aug. She is our pride and joy, you will love your new pet! :)
