Good times!! I was there when this video was filmed. This video was filmed in Elizabeth, NJ at a club called The Ritz. I jizzed in my pants when I saw this video on MTV. Great fucking band, and great fucking song.
Love this song, it was the first one I heard when I first checked out Hank's solo output. That huge edit during Haskett's guitar solo really sucks (among the two other's I noticed). It's a shame that the people in the position of providing access to music love money and their inane advertising far more than music. "Ooooo, we don't want to let the music go on too long before we jam another ad down their throats!!!!"
here you go, boy. 8:13 and 8:54 if you want the word "hardcore" from the horses mouth, that is the guys from THE MIDDLE CLASS. As I said the word was thrown around a lot back then, at least in socal. Too bad you queers elsewhere were so late to the game.

okay so everyone get a laugh at this loser ubertard because he doesn't seem to get it. I cited the decline doc where exene from X says people were calling it hardcore and now from THE MIDDLE CLASS and black flag!

@TheNewMusicNetwork so why is only exene saying it in the movie, you stupid fucking tit?
she uses it as an adjective - a very common adjective to define counterculture at that time, especially pornography.
NO OTHER PERSON IN THAT FUCKING MOVIE says the word "hardcore" at any time. if it was such a household fucking word, why was it only exene who said it, in passing? why were all the other bands yelping "punk rock" all the fucking time?

@uberscheisse DEAR GOD YOU ARE FUCKING STUPID. you're just spamming like some bozo now. I happened to like some other music as well as hardcore. take a look farther down my favs. I have a lot of classic hardcore as well as new bands.
Yeah . . . I remember when this CD appeared and it didn't even have . . . the Titles of the Songs to "click" to (so you had to listen to the entire album to get to "tearing" !!!!) which is kind of a funny concept, esp re Rollins!!!
@goretrade1234 --Cool! I was there too! We were warned not to jump on the stage because Henry was known for hitting stagedivers. Being a stupid 19 year old, I did it anyway. Henry shoved me HARD off the stage and I slammed to the ground. OUCH!
Fun day though. Even though I can't see myself in the video.
this is one of my favorite albums ever. i wore an end of silence t-shirt with the sun on the back until it fell apart. bought it at one of their shows
Australian TV yes, know it well, 2 songs Low Self Opinion and Tearing 100% Rollins band full steam. I think it was a show hosted by Andrew Denton. I had it VHS for years.
this LP is in its entirety amazing. henry has helped me thru alot with his music. not to mention the amazing musicianship of every member of the rollins band. haskett was sick!!! sim was sick . both bassists they had were great. their sonic assault defined me in high school
Rollins Band is just pure talent. Sim Cain dominates on the rock kit like no other...
Two facts: 1. I saw Tool (Undertow Tour) open for Rollins at Mississippi Nights in St.Louis. Probably the greatest show in any lifetime to be at. Like 80 people there. Unreal...
Then like 2 years ago I was stuck in traffic in Hollywood on the 101 and there was Henry in his Subaru (cool to see he was smart about such a car in L.A.) and of course gave him the "you rule" thumbs up.
This is gotta be one of Rollins best songs ever! It's seriously a dangerous tune! Listen to the lyrics some one has really fucked this guy over in the past! So much raw emotion! I can almost feel his pain! Rollins Band is like therapy. It gets you through the hard times!
acspiers-great post. This is my favorite Rollins Band song of all time. People have been telling me I sound like Sim Cain since I moved to Austin approximately 100 years ago. Nice to still know someone appreciates the style.
great to see rollins band in the original format - sim cain's drum cage; haskett with hair and ol' andy weiss before the introduction of the melvin gibbs bass distortion air strike of the later albums. Henry shames Phil Anselmo and the pantera babes back to their redneck texan pussy rock roots; locks them in a room until they pee themselves and promise never to do it again.
@JudasAngel666 Liar sucked. Most of weight was horrible. Fool was ok and disconnect was true rollins form. but the end of silence was fucking epic. and no one can say anything about come in and burn. that's some fucking phoenix shit.
anselmo definatelly took notes from Rollins...maybe not so much in the 'not fucking yourself up on drugs' part though! Both total legends all the same!

this LP is in its entirety amazing. henry has helped me thru alot with his music. not to mention the amazing musicianship of every member of the rollins band. haskett was sick!!! sim was sick . both bassists they had were great. their sonic assault defined me in high school

Got us a little bit fired-up!

I hate when songs are edited to make them more media friendly. This solo is great, such a shame they felt the need to cut it.....

He knew what's up.

henry's too damn awesome! This song rocks!!!!!!

I think this song is a bit longer than this as the end part from 3:10 on happens twice in the proper video clip.
Once at the start then another shorter bit near the end.

This is gotta be one of Rollins best songs ever! It's seriously a dangerous tune! Listen to the lyrics some one has really fucked this guy over in the past! So much raw emotion! I can almost feel his pain! Rollins Band is like therapy. It gets you through the hard times!

i love this fucking song so much
aaronious2 2 years ago
Very perceptive! jmsdnstn. I CAN feel henry's pain. he seems a gentle, sensitive poet, despite bench pressing volksvagans, and all that muscle.

Henry rules! For a crazy guy; just kiddin. He's a great guy, with a lot to say.
My band used to try and cover this song, but it's really tough to hit that intensity! One of my favorite all-time songs

acspiers-great post. This is my favorite Rollins Band song of all time. People have been telling me I sound like Sim Cain since I moved to Austin approximately 100 years ago. Nice to still know someone appreciates the style.

That man is so awesome LIVE!!! So much energy you can feed off!!! Thanks for sharing the vid!!

great to see rollins band in the original format - sim cain's drum cage; haskett with hair and ol' andy weiss before the introduction of the melvin gibbs bass distortion air strike of the later albums. Henry shames Phil Anselmo and the pantera babes back to their redneck texan pussy rock roots; locks them in a room until they pee themselves and promise never to do it again.
Ask Henry, he'll tell you.

uh fuck off. texas isnt full of rednecks like idiots think. saw rollins band bout 8 years ago in austin. great show

End of the Silence is a true testament of Henry's iconic style and genius. In my opinion, it's his most important album.

The best Rollins Band song ever

@Julma1975 What about Liar? or Low Self opinion? those are also really good.
JudasAngel666 1 year ago
@JudasAngel666 Liar sucked. Most of weight was horrible. Fool was ok and disconnect was true rollins form. but the end of silence was fucking epic. and no one can say anything about come in and burn. that's some fucking phoenix shit.
mastadonius 1 year ago
@mastadonius Granted Liar wasn't THE BEST but it was decent. and also The end of Silence is one of Rollin's best.
