Um....@bluehaze1029 those spots where the pianist takes over and performs her part are called piano interludes - they are intended to take the spotlight away from the soloist for a moment of rest. This was a nice ensemble performance and great work on the flautist's part - great breath control and technique.
lady deserves a better pianist, my God... piano is sometimes killing the musical performance of the fluitist... Faure writes clearly rest despite pedal sign... cant we just respect the composer....?
It's definitely one of my favourite pieces and I'm using it for an audition this weekend. Hopefully it'll sound this good, then I'll have no problem whatsoever making the orchestra ;D
my teacher has spent years telling me to turn out so that im not covering any of the hole. I havent yet worked up the courage to tell her i dont think it works for me. i find it hard to get a nice tone like that, but im sure for others it works perfectly! i think it is entirely personal preferance :)
Your posture was beautiful along with the tempo and articulation! Everything must have been practiced for so long to get the smoothness right! I myself am a flutist and I am working on that piece...but oh! You did it wonderfully and perfectly! Your parents must be very VERY proud. Absolutely wonderful...I hope you keep up this beautiful work of yours!!!
beautiful music and I think this is a later version than another on YouTube of you playing the same piece. Well, I think you've improved on your previous performance! Great, thanks for sharing it!I loved that you have memorized it. Great posture and very elegant! I like your body movement-the music moves you but you don't overdo it! Amazing for a girl your age! Hope to hear more from you!
Criticism is good in a useful way in order to improve one's skills. This girl is an inspiration to others. Maybe not to you. Perhaps the way you said was offensive. What you stated is based on your own knowlegde and may not click to others but if you don't want them to rebuke you, next time give some criticisms but praises as well. Praise her for doing her best. Her teacher can point out the mistakes to her so don't say so much.
I find the breathing very difficult especially the first phrase. My teacher wants me to get from bar 1 to bar 6 without taking a breath! Im finding it difficult..does anyone have any suggestions or help for me?!! it would be much appreciated!! thanks.
But these are very minor things which often occur when you are nervous and it is very understandable. The piece is difficult. Im learning it myself at the moment.
I think this was a beautiful perfromance, although i do kind of agree with
"mollyphloot" and "musicizmylife27" to some degree, in flute playing, where you take a breath is very important and breathing itself is very important, and maybe there are times when she breathes in not such a good place, also once or twice high notes kind of broke and went to the lower register.
"Nesszors, that's not quite "enough said". That just shows that you can type Mozart Flute Concerto in D Major without screwing it up." She can play it VERY well. Learn how to connect the dots. And mollyphloot wasn't "just" pointing anything out. She said "she's not as great as I thought she was". Without that comment I'd have said nothing.
Don't change the subject, I didn't say I could. I also happened to watch videos of you playing before commenting just to see if you could back it up. I won't say the rest.
wow, whats wrong with those dudes giving out ugly comments? She's really great!!!! Not every flautist as young as her can hit tones like that of an actual flautist you would expect him/her to blow the flute like that unless you are gifted or u just keep practising until you finally got it.
I'm studying for a degree in music with flute as my instrument, and refer to myself as a flautist. It's still a word in the English dictionary, it's only in America where that term doesn't seem to be used as frequently, so I think it is really unfair for you to make fun of other people.
You seem to be adamant that your way of thinking is the best way, and that you're right and everyone else is wrong.
Get a grip of the real world. You might not feel so 'high and mighty' when you do.
ROFL. You are really making a fool of yourself. You didn't know that flautist still can be used? I think you are the one who actually needs to learn more about flutes and not me!
im blown away!!! pure talent!!! your amazing!!! just beautiful!!! i know some flutist that has been in music there whole life and are not as good as you are!! exellent playing!
Wow, she's really good, I'm playing this peice for regions too, and I'm not even half as good as her! I'm so glad I found this vid, now i have something to work off of!
yes, a lot of asian parents to pressure their children more than others, but a lot of them [kids] like the instruments that they play. so you can't blame the parents. and a little pressure is quite good actually.
Goodness. That was simply amazing. I'm 16 and I can't play this nearly as well, or up to temp. I have to audition with this piece for region band this year, and lemme tell you this piece is a buttface to play.
hahahahaha, hi. i suck at this piece. lmao. that made my day.
well since i first found this i've gotten better at it and I GOT A NEW FLUTE<3 yay. it's beautiful and perfect. for some reason i can't double tongue evenly though so they're gunna be like YOU SUCK GOODBYE. haha. :] i made 38th out of 111th last year, so hopefully i'll get in this year.
haha, well im a freshman so i wont get in this year anyway, but good luck! last year i did intermediate regions, and i got 3rd person not in (#18 i think) and the year before i tied with the last person in but i scored 10 pts. higher on sightreading and they scored 10 pts. higher on solo....
my life.
sigh......
i cant do the double tonguing part well, so im gonna slow it down, a little, and theyre gonna b like, U STUPID PERSON I BET UR A FRESHIE, GO AWAY, UR NOT GOOD ENOUGH
WOW! I could clearly see how much you have improved from previous videos! you musicality in the slow movement was more NATURAL and expressive :) I loved it. Bravo!
Dominique: the other interpretation was very good, and you improved it here: it's phrased much better, in my opinion, and you captured the mood that Faure probably intended the work to have better this time.
I'm trying this at solo's, no way in the world I could memorize this, it's so hard! >w< She's REALLY good.

I am a math teacher to at risk kids. I ma gong to show this movie to the parents for them to see what great work can parents do.

you can actually go to most music stores and buy "flute music by french composers." there are 10 pieces, for $13. this should be the 5th piece.
