  • Joan's films have brought such pleasure to my life. She was indeed a survivor and refused to quit. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THIS VIDEO !

  • She sure was classy! Love her.

  • Wow...that intervewer is a real pr'''.

  • Wow what a awesome interview, she is one of the greatest actresses of all time

  • I like the way she looks at him. Straight into his eyes. Very charming woman. they dont make em like her or Betty Davis anymore.

  • Elegance, I admire the way she came from very humble beginnings and made herself into a success in films and business.

  • joan crawford was such a dedicated actor ( actress) she even slept in the trailer at the studio sometimes. she was so wonderfully strong in focus of the character and the intensity of emotion. she was a perfectionist. she researched and lived the part when she played a character, she became the character. i am surprised she even thought about the need for her to have children. perhaps she wanted to also establish a legacy, besides, the love she wanted and seemed to only have with steele.

  • Joan Crawford was a loving mother, good friend, and great actress. Christina was not grateful for anything she had as a child, she was a taker and could not be satiated. She wrote the book out of spite and the movie is total fiction. All of the other children that Joann Crawford raised love her and say there was no abuse so why would they lie?

  • What big frightened eyes she had. I don't think she liked this interviewer too much because he talked so much......

  • Also, I think she only comes across as "fake" because she's so self-conscious and doesn't know how to act. She's just nervous and that makes her think too much about what she's going to say.

  • GAH! I'm so sick of all these arguments about that stupid book! It might be true, it might not be. Who cares?! It has nothing to do with her stardom. Hell, it wasn't even published till after her death. What happened to the 70 odd years before anyone even knew about the book. I think Joan was just a nervous, self conscious woman who needed to be loved by her fans to be happy. What's on screen is all that matters. And what's on screen is wonderful!

  • Christina 's book was published years ago now and recently it has been discounted by many people including people who watched Christina and her siblings grow up. Her schoolmatesand neighbours say that her book was completely fictional. This all from recent TV documentary. She was apparently jealous and vindictive not only towards her mother but her siblings, etc. Even those who Joan was not close to said she was always very concerned and affectionate with her children. Don't think they'd lie now.

  • @3909clancy I said the movie was exaggerated, I'm not saying anything about Christina. In the movie Joan's character hits Christina with hangers. In the documentary Christina says that never happened, Joan was upset about hangers and slapped Christina (on one occasion!), but did not hit her with hangers. You'll see if you watch the doco again. The movie is inaccurate. The movie is different from Christina's book. It's also chronologically inaccurate.

  • @liftoffgirl I love joan crawford, Christina is the only child of hers who every claimed that Joan was a bad mother. She had 4 children, the only reason Christina wrote the book is that she was jealous of her mother and upset she didn't get anything from her when she died. She is an ungrateful liar in my opinion. I've watched interviews with the younger girls, they are very nice ladies.

  • @liftoffgirl LOL you suck, you saiud that CHRISTINA SAID that the scene was exaggerated, but then you said "oh i never said that"

  • @artemiscarrington from the legendaryjoancrawford website facts&myths page: "but did Christina get beaten with a wire hanger? No. Christina has now admitted that the "wire hanger" incident never happened as it was portrayed in the film."

  • @liftoffgirl yes. i read that one too. but WHERE did she say that? I never heard christina said that, what i DID heard, was christina saying that she DID beat her with the wire hangers on the angelica houston documentary

  • @artemiscarrington Nobody can know what actually happened, and I really don't care. Enjoy the video

  • She was a big drunk who should have NEVER been allowed to adopt children!!!No drunk is EVER a good parent. She might have been a good actress yet thats all she was to her children. How is beating your children with hangers and waking them up at 2 in the morn to clean on a school night a normal caring thing to do??

  • @3909clancy she never beat her children with hangers. Christina has explained that scene was exaggerated in the movie, as were a lot of things

  • @liftoffgirl Actually she never said that. What interview was that??She has never ever said once that anything was exaggerated. What article or interview are you refering to??

  • @3909clancy The TCM documentary "Joan Crawford The Ultimate Movie Star." Christina was one of those interviewed in the documentary.

  • @3909clancy Actually, I don't think any legitimate agency would approve her for an adoption. She actually purchased babies from black market baby brokers. I believe she was more than just an alchoholic. I believe she was manic depressive with OCD and her disorders were compounded by her alcholism. But you're right no agency would have eve approved her.

  • @3909clancy Honestly you shouldn't make up your complete opinion about someone off of story telling. Unless you knew Joan personally and her children personally, it's just not right. Let the woman rest in peace..

  • Joan is very sweet! And has a good sense of humor too. And she looks cute in that dress! It looks like a sweater on close up.

  • Jako32: How does Joan Crawford look as if she wants to slash that man's throat? Is it the fact that she has high eyebrows? What in the hell are you talking about???

  • christina is a lame as bitch i'm glade joan did't leave her any money and then soon as she died she tried to throw salt on her name i love joan crawford movie christina's a hater

  • Joan was a lady and good mother even she lost it at times. She gave those 4 children all that she had and worked herself to the end for them. She had to be tough as she raised them alone in a very high clase environment and any flaw would affect her image, not like these days the more DUI you get the more money on publisity you get. She gave them tough love and if that wasnt the case those now man and women would not be what and who they are now.

And that interview needs to shut up

  • @jolieterc Ahw cut them out of her will and gave them nothing when she died. How is that tough love? Or a good mother?

  • @jaidemm There is alot that we dont know about these individuals lives, but I will say, for what I could appreaciate from the movie, Christina didn't seen to be an angel, with they was she would look at her mother when she was spoken to. Joan wanted her kids to earn their living and although Joan was broke at the very end of her life she did what she felt was best.

  • she looks like she wants to slash his throat. what a MEAN, hard evil lookin woman.

  • she was an evil drunk who abused her adopted children and was as sick as they come.

  • @3909clancy She thought toughness and strictness was the way to mould a child, unfortunately she went a little far but I believe she always thought she was doing the right thing, she had lofty ideals and expected a lot of herself and the people around her and took her work and responsibilities in life extremely seriously, to her own detriment and downfall... but in the end she was a fighter and a self made woman, and she could be a very loyal and generous person with those she loved

  • Interviewer was very RUDE and insulting. She was very gracious and patient with that ass. He kept interrupting her, and gave you the impression that she made all 'stinkers'. What an ASS!

  • She's such a fake and always acting so sweet. What a load of BS! Nothing natural about her.

  • She was a fake drunk.Who was only worried what strangers thought of her made up Image

  • @3909clancy You shut up! She was going through a tough time in her life. You know absolutely nothing you low life! Don't you dare insult Joan that way even if she is gone you filth! Don't watch her if all you have to say are negative things. So go waste your time on something stupid like you!

  • Oh my god, this interviewer is such an idiot! He's so unsubtle in trying to suck up to her, it's embarrassing.

  • I respect her and her diplomacy here. He had some nerve putting his hand on her shoulder!

  • I thought this was Joan's interview????? This pompous r-tard needs to shut his mouth and treat her like a lady...How nerve racking...I still love Joan though and how she handled this loser, I'll never know =)

  • He talks too much and is way too close to his mic. Can't believe he patted her on the shoulder.

  • @dorian4infinity

He has no class I guess!

  • terrible interveiwer

    i love joan though

  • This interviewer is a prick.

  • Was Joan Crawford the one who is being interviewed?

  • This boy didnt desearve to breathe the same air or be in the same room as Miss Crawford!!!....It's soooooo obvious that he's shiting his pantyhose while she keeps making him look like a fool without even trying nor even intending to! What a great piece of history!

  • "The star."

  • Intelligent. Poised. Direct. Honest. And always gorgeously turned out. And interview-impervious in this case. The poor man is totally at sea, but she is so informative and sharp and charming it really doesn't matter.

  • Poor Miss Crawford having to be interviewed by this poor interviewer Mr Woolf. He really needed to have done some homework before talking to her and stop blabbing!

  • Miss Crawford was a kind hearted lady. She had charm, talent, beauty and she was a good person. She loved her public and showed her respect for people and her career. She will be always missed. We will never see another Joan Crawford, she was the most glamorous star ever in Hollywood. Thank you for posting this.

  • @PureSoapCleans Kind hearted? Really? How so?

  • @jaidemm , I have heard it from her friends and read it on several books. She was always the kindest person with the crew that worked in any of her films, at the end of the production she always bought a gift for every one, she always kept a paid bed in a local hospital, she didn't talk about it, but with her money she paid for all the expenses for those who couldn't afford it. Cesar Romero & Myrna Loy used to talk how generous she was. She answered herself her fan mail. Didn't you know?

  • Joan Crawford was a beautiful women. A brilliant actress. I do not know whether what Christina Crawford said is true or not. No one really knows. She is a true legand though.

  • Too Wonderful!

    Thank you for posting!

    Brent

  • we have heard enough about ,,mommie dearest,,now .a screen goddess like this will never come again!

  • oh i wish joan's kind of hollywood was still around and making pictures pure class and elegance

  • "Are you kidding? Who me? Never!" Aw, Joan! She's so cute in her own way :)

  • This is a dickhead interviewer. Joan, of course, did marvelously! Very beautiful, intelligent, strong, and classy woman! And very amusing too :) Love Joan Crawford!

  • "varied roles instead of the same one all the time?" Sure, ok (no comment). Is this an interview or a roast?

  • The interviewer is horrible. Joan did brilliantly.

  • She is holding her face in one position the whole time. She is acting the whole time. "MOmmy Dearest" showed the real person.

  • What a terrible question.

    .

He may has well have asked her, why have you stayed a pervert and not quit when you made enough money to retire from work; allowing a younger generation of workers to become ... equally good at acting.

    .

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • The douche interviewer nearly makes this Unwatchable.

  • What an obnoxious negative interviewer.

  • She was hard on people in her life, but she knew what she wanted and had class and wit to her dying day. She was truly Queen Bee!

  • I wouldn't even know what I would say, if I could say anything, if I was sitting next to her lol. She's so intimidating and not in a bad way.

  • Greatest actress who ever lived

  • BETTE DAVIS is the greatest actress who ever lived.

  • Gracious and Unflappable

  • I agree w/ Jako32

  • she was absolutely beautiful here, and seemed rather well rounded. so hard to believe some of the crap that is written. 74 international pictures....c'mon Julia Roberts, Meg Ryan, Sandra Bullock, let's see what you've got.

  • yes he talks too much.

He interrupts, doesn't let her finish her thoughts. a good opportunity wasted.

  • look at her lighting! diva!

  • that interviewere spoke too much he should have asked shorter questions and let joan speak more.

  • hmmmm...

not sure how i feel about him

    she was flawless. simply divine

people dont speak like that anymore

    complete thoughts in complete sentences

    intelligent, charming, polite, and relevant

really enjoy watching these interviews, getting a chance to see the real her, and not the character shes playing

also i love Esther Costello. i think its one of her very best

  • The real "stinkers" were yet to come, sadly...
