  • When I type javac in the cmd console it doesn't work, the console doesnt recognise it, why is that?

  • go into control panel. then go to system. and then go to advanced->environment variables. under "system variables" find the variable "Path". click on it, then on edit. at the end of the "variable value" entry box type in a semicolon (;) then the path of your bin folder in your jdk folder. should work after that.

  • Michael, this is fantastic for beginners!

  • you sound like every pilot i have ever heard but great video!

  • Michael your tutorial are awesome!!! I am a complete beginner but understood it wholy and perfectly!!! perfect videos, will tell my friends about them! Thanks a lot man!

  • how to open a command pront

  • go to start then all programs then go to accessories and command prompt is there

  • all that just for a "hello world" !!!???

couldn't be just, print/echo "hello world" .. it sucks !

  • If you refer to the length of the video, that's because he explains everything in detail.

If you refer to the code itself, that's just the way java is.

  • i dont know of any programming language where you just type "print/echo 'hello world'" sounds like you like to make batch files.

  • best java tutorials on the net!! better then my cert 4 programming teacher at tafe ;)

  • {

Hey. Thanks alot for helping us "noobs" xD

  • distance=speed * time

for example, if a train travels 40 miles per hour for 3 hours, the distance traveled is 120 miles. write a program that asks for the speed ofa vehicle(in miles per hour) and the number of hours it has traveled. it should use a loop to display the distance a vehicle is traveling at 40 mph for a 3 hour time period. it should display a report similar to the one that follows:

    hour - 1 distance - 40

    hour- 2 distance- 80

    hour- 3 distance - 120

  • This is a great video.The best ever :D

    50/10!

  • Michael, have been to nice drums and really like the tutorials. Any idea when the 2nd series of java tutorials will be made available??

Thanks for a job well done.

    Relayer77

  • "Okay.." haha.

  • really like the video. Nice and easy to follow and after checking out your URL found the rest of the vids very informative with great links - looking forward to the second series

  • hey can ne1 tell whats his URL???

    whats he exact speeling.....

    gr8 video ...

  • Dude the url is in the video description. michael[dot]has[dot]nicedrums[dot]net (stupid youtube won't let me put urls in comments)

  • What is his home page URL again? How do you spell it. Please show in URL in future URLs. Thanks

  • My program compiles successfully, but i'm getting an error when trying to run the program after typing "java HelloWorld", which looks like this:

    Error: could not open 'C:\Java\lib\i386\jvm.cfg'

Now, I don't have a folder called 'C:\Java\', my java files are saved in 'C:\jdk\', so I suspect there's something wrong with a path or something, though I really don't know. Does anyone know what this is about and how I can fix it?

  • Killer Vid. Pure awesomeness.

  • THANX MICHEAL U R A REAL PAL

  • Nice one Michael. And great to find some tutorials with an Aussie accent!

  • what is the url , please tell me,i couldn't get what he said .

  • Hey

ok it won't let me post a url in the comment, but it is in the info at the top of this page.

  • i already new this cuz i study java in school but are are a great teacher, we have a java program but its cool to code it inside notpad too :) this is a great vid

  • Yeah I use Eclipse for my programming. The reason I went with Notepad/Command prompt is that I think it's important to know how to compile and run things manually. In the next lot of videos I will be using Eclipse.

  • If you want to learn JAVA, you absolutely have to check out Michael's website. The tutorials are phenomenal - clear, concise, packed with useful information, and comprehensive. Totally impressive - Michael obviously knows JAVA exceptionlly well, and he is a great teacher (and I sincerely hope he continues to add to his Website tutorials).

  • Please let me know the Michaels URL for learning Java Programing.

    Thanks

  • Super duper! :D
