  • perhaps, but does much better ,,,,,,JORN is awesom

  • let's be serious...a lot of trance music is kind off the same, you can't blaim only JvD for this...it's a VERY stupid thing to do...for me he is one of the best because in my opinion his tracks and remixes have all that trance, epic, uplifting feeling that trance music should have, feeling that is a little bit dead in nowadays....I like progressive house and deep house but i like more trance and for me trance in it's purest mode is Jorn van Deynhoven

  • Nadjanema is OBVIOUSLY a copy! BUT..... in my opinion: Ramsterdam cannot be considered as a copy because it is not even 50 % similar. And furthermore, Ramsterdam is also way much better than the "original song"

  • Difference between masterpiece and avarage music lays in little details. These details create a spirit of music. Deynhoven's music has it's spirit.

  • Maybe he has just had a similar idea with the artists the video says he is copying...Anyway he does a great job and he's tracks sound great, that's what matters when you listen to him.

  • @azrijel9275 watch Jorn van Deynhoven ASOT 450 interview

  • @MarcioYTchannel not, temple one is Joe Garrett. check BIOS in Discogs.

  • TEMPLO ONE AND Jorn van Deynhoven ARE THE SAME PERSON, --'

  • @MarcioYTchannel no they aren't lol

  • IMO Ramsterdan isnt rly a copy

  • this is the same case with Lady Gaga, they're obvious copycats, yet the blind fans invent thousands of excuses for their fails, they just can't accept the truth, i listen to many different musical genres including Trance and to be honest, Lady CaCa is way worse than JvD, Jorn still produces 1 or 2 decent tunes like for example his remix of Jan Johnston's Happy Ending co-produced with Sascha Milde , it was nice, i liked it, but CaCa only copies over and over again and her music is just shit.

  • @NewtonOfficial Is it the same? Which mix is it the same as, just out of curiosity? It was actually similarities in the chord progression that made me think that, IIRC.

  • this jackass should be arrested for stealing music!!!.....how dare he rip off the great Airbase!!!!

  • @TerryHenson i completely agree with you but worse than him are his blind fans who can't handle the truth.

  • @LovePeaceUnity2011 i agree,,,,,its sad,,,,,no originality at all.......it would be different if he did a remix of their tracks,,,and gave them the proper credit.....but this jackass is just taking their hard earned work and slapping a different title on it.....its disgusting

  • @TerryHenson yes, it is and it's a crime what he's doing, it's called plagiarism, he at least should credit the original artists in the credit part of the release, Armin van Buuren sued Mauro Picotto for his unauthorised use of Blue Fear Melody on his track 'Like This Like That' back in 2000.

  • @LovePeaceUnity2011 i think airbase should do the same thing....but ive talked with Jezper several times.....hes way too cool and nice of a guy to do that.........i sure as hell would!

  • @LovePeaceUnity2011 And Armin van Buuren/Signum have copied airwave...FYI. Blue fear lead is a rip-off of heart & Mind by fire & Ice.

  • The only one I think is a total copycat is Anticipation...definitely 100% a copy, it should just be Lemon & Einar K - Anticipation (Jorn van Dynhoven Remix) .. or maybe he got knocked back for a remix so decided to copy himself!

  • its "Adam Nicky" asshole and Halo from JVD will shut your mouth and kill u for so much "EPICOSITTY"!! many tracks look alike nowadays so stop hittn' on Jorn u piece of shit!

  • Lemon & Einar K. - Anticipation EPIC TRACK

  • seriousy .When RAmsterdam came out I thought. ARMADA Y U RUIN TRANCE? Its obviously anticipation with a twist at the last bar omg

  • Ramsterdam is the best

  • JVD is fucking noob.

  • Guys, musicians sample other artists all the time. If it weren't for this so called "copying", music would not progress. It is BECAUSE of this sampling that musicians find their own style, and their own "sound". .. How many saxophonists sampled Charlie Parker licks after the bebop era? How many rock musicians have used Jimmy Hendrix licks in their solos? How many musicians have used the chord progression I-IV-V-I??

  • in fact, i don't like Jorn van Dynhoven's productiosn, at all, and seriously is a joke in Trance Music, i mean, copying Nadjamena remixed by Airbase who is a real Trance producer, producing an awful track that became very pupular which actually is a copy from another track, and he even put hands on beautiful things which is a very good trance prodution with the Gabriel & Dresden Remix, seriously he's not only a failure, he's a joke.

  • 99% of uplifting is ripped off theese days :) orginality ??? WHAT ??? :D :D

  • Ramsterdam was bomb! What the fk is wrong with you.

  • @Jalenxx Cheated. BOMB.

  • Jorn van Deynhoven жжет паря

  • Comment removed

  • @JornVanDeynhoven I guess there is nothing else to comment on the video? Yeah, everything is so obvious...

  • @JornVanDeynhoven popular, not populary... if you are FAILing then do it with some poise...

  • i think jorn van deynhoven sucks! honestly...a copy melody maker who isnt original at all! newdays trance producers sucks balls theese days..specially this guy

  • Ahaahah fuck me he's lame, "Nadjanema" copy was absolutely horrible.

  • @Usumgallu yeah, Airbase is way better than Failhoven

  • You could do this for any trance artist.

If you understood music theory you'd know that there are only so many chord progressions you can create within one key, using triads, which is how MOST trance is written. You'd also know that a chord can only be arpeggiated so many ways. So, ok JvD uses a descending minor chord arpeggio. I bet you can find that in like 300 trance songs. It's like saying that all punk is copied, because it uses power chords and 1,4,5 progression.

  • @simex909 Good to see at least someone knows what they're talking about...

  • JVD has never been original, I am really surprised he was allowed to DJ at ASOT 450. I can only credit his production skills that he copies sound I like. Trance has been lacking originality for the last 2 years.

  • @showdown2006 Much longer than 2 years lol.

  • and some people say: OMG JVD IS THE BEST UPLIFTING TRANCE PRODUCER 1!!!!!111 This is the real JvD, a shame for trance music.

  • Comment removed

  • He's overrated, but Arrmin loves to promote copycats

  • check Jorn van Deynhoven & Manuel le Saux - Nardo (Jorn van Deynhoven Mix)

  • @iceuponfire What's that a copy cat of? Just curious to know.

  • @ascot121

    Marcos - Cosmic string

  • @iceuponfire Thanks Bud spread the word about that. I knew I heard it from somewhere.

  • LOL apart from some ripped off ideas presented here, the "From Russia With Love" reminded me of some great track, listen to Cosmic Culture - Oceans (Deep Blue Sea Remix) and see that it's also pretty much the same, but way way better, this here is some wack try.

  • for those of you who didn't see it, I'd very much recommend the movie "RiP, a remix manifesto"... Found a lot of arguments in terms of "stealing vs. re-use to create something new"...

  • Can I just say that JvD has a PRODUCER doing tracks with him, so although JvD may have copied some melodies and ideas, it could have also been the producer who did that. Also, how can you be sure that Jorn's HEARD those tracks that you claim he's copied? The last two tracks are NOT similar in any way, shape or form, so I don't really see any reason why you posted that. Anticipation and RAMsterdam share the same synth, NOT the exact same melody, either. Probably all of these are COINCIDENCES.

  • @Qp990Trance He's been in the scene for a long time he should know these tracks.

  • Lol it's pretty obvious Nadjanema was based on a midi of The Orange Theme.

  • I guess the first two examples are fine , but the latter ones are horrible.

Alot of producers uses similar bassline , no.. In fact alot of rock musicians use similar sounding Bassline , in that case they only have the bass guitar .

If they use the same instruments , it would be obvious that they will create the same atmosphere , and is that considered copying?

    I don't think so.

  • @IceWaterColdWater OK then, it's "only" unoriginality :)

I can't change the words in video now :( :-P

  • yeah the first two are pretty obvious rip offs!

I wouldn´t care too much about the martin roth bassline styled track and the last pluck pattern is used in sooooo many so called trance tracks today, you cannot blame JvD for doing it too ;)

  • @IceWaterColdWate the first two examples are quite obvious indeed...

    the other ones are less...

but it still shows that JvD has picked up a lot of inspiration from other tracks and has tried to add very similar melody samples to his tracks, which makes them less original...

but still, copying melodies and producing tracks with past melodies seems less awful than "artists" building a reputation on themselves with tracks that they don't even produce and buy from other talented artists...

  • @IceWaterColdWater

its a shame that producing trance, in some cases, has a become more of a business contract than an actual passion for producing great tracks that put you in a vibe out of this world...

  • Yeah I really noticed the Anticipation copy in RAMsterdam. I was like YEAH THIS IS AWESOME when I first heard his remix then I was like o___O waaait.. Still, at least JvD beat us to it! Props to him! xD Great vid

  • aribase remix is the same melodi damn cant think JVD will copy it %100 really badpoint normaly this is a remix but original mix is this not rape the track name ?

if i know that firstly i will not give my vote for him on Djtop100

  • @thekingofdavos instead of voting on that stupid copycat aka Jorn van FAILhoven, vote on someone atleast a little bit original like Airbase, seriously, he doesn't do copy-past like FAILhoven

  • I am a little disappointed that JvD used that Airbase remix just because I love Airbase and know he never gets enough praise for how good his tunes are but I will still appreciate JvD.

  • @Idontfcare i couldn't agree more, for me Airbase is one of the best Trance producers that still produces Trance Music, his song Escape is one of my all-time fav trance tunes, and i think he should get more praise for what he produces and not that stupid copycat guy, which we all know who he is.

  • Wow. I just thought he ripped of Anticipation so shamelessly and got major praise for his RAMsterdam remix undeserved. But it seems originality is a concept entirely unknown to him. 0_o It's producers like this that have ruined euphoric Trance for me...

Luckily I discovered other genres of EDM to replace and even improve the void of ET. ;) And there is always High Contrast Recordings to do things right. ;)

  • @modetwomusic so what it is, when at least idea of melody structure is practically the same (Ramsterdam, From Russia With Love, and even his remixes on Dash Berlin - Never Cry Again or Glenn Morrison - Symptoms Of A Stranger (which is not in the video))? maybe not stealing, but 90% copying? :-D

  • @modetwomusic maybe (it is about the taste of each listener), but was not original at all... and some parts of those tracks are sooo mistakably interchangeble/sound so similar

  • @K1aptcha maybe hes not the most original producer today but hes trying. hes on the scene for like, two years? and he still makes simple melodies with plucked synths. im a producer myself and CANT write a melody which is that simple like most of the melodies by jvd, temple one and daniel kandi. my melodies are all pretty complex and it takes me a few days to write one down. and during the construction of the rest of the song, i still add some minor changes to the melody.

  • @modetwomusic ofc you wont find my music anywhere because i still like to test it all on the floor. i thing i have some minor modifications to do and ill start sending demos to labels soon ;)

  • @modetwomusic not everyone agrees. the originals sounded just fine!

  • @modetwomusic

if u steal a melody it's still stealing.

  • The last three examples are very weak and wouldn't form a solid argument to JvD stealing or copying anything, especially the one about the bassline (You're judging someone on the usage of a bassline in the same key?).

  • @JuventaMusic last three - so you mean those?

From Russia With Love - identical melody

Beautiful Things remix - typical Roth sound, similar bassline, very similar sounds, similar deep atmosphere (strange for an uplifting producer; if I listen to it and do not know the name of remixer, I would definitelly say, that it was made by Martin Roth)

Never Cry Again remix - plucked melody originality problem

but OK, as you are a producer, you understand it better - I just feel it by my listener's ears

  • @K1aptcha my bad, final two examples.

BT remix - Basslines have completely different progressions and don't even sound like each other. Atmosphere can be similar, just depends on what kind of track you have in mind and what feeling it should have. You want to forbid a song about love cuz someone else already wrote one? And I also produce some deeper stuff and a lot of other uplifting producers do so.

NCA remix - Indeed originality problem, but you can't use it to blame JvD only.

  • @JuventaMusic OK understood ;) but still, I won't say sorry to JvD :-P

  • @K1aptcha :O He really is a nice guy. Met him last month. But yea that might not influence your statement at all ;-)

  • LMAO! :D

  • oh man this just proves how some producers(like van Failhoven) just don't give a shit when they know that they can get away with ripping music.

  • His tune sick! no matter what u guys said, I LOVE HIS TUNE COMPARE TO OTHER SHITTY TRANCE PRODUCER. There are so many uplifting trance producer these days, but the melody are bad, doesnt make me feel "uplifted"

I miss the old melodic trance, but he really make today trance to get back to the "real uplifting trance"

I want to join JvD fans club, and hear his new tunes. FOR THE PEOPLE OUT THERE, PLS APPRECIATE OTHER PEOPLES WORK. CAN YOU MAKE A NICE SONG LIKE HIM?

  • Q:How original is Jorn van Deynhoven?

    A:Very original

  • @bugi03 Q: Oh really? :-D

  • @K1aptcha A: Yeah, you didn't know that?! :)

  • @bugi03 Q: Can you prove it? :-D

  • @K1aptcha Isn't this video enough?!

  • @bugi03 I thought you were not ironic :-P

  • I knew RAMsterdam, and I went into the video thinking, "big deal, I even like his version more," but oh my God. The buildup to From Russia With Love is EXACTLY the same as Cosmic Culture - Oceans (Deep Blue Sea Mix). It's literally like he had the original song and just changed the midi notes.

  • Eh I never really liked JvD that much at all in the first place... Those tracks are very, very similar.

  • Sorry but: UN FUCKING EXPECTED :((!!! nice vid <3

  • so embarsing

  • Excellent vid. I didn't know there were more examples than just the "Anticipation" copy. From Russia With Love is an absolute disgrace! Like you said, it's 100% the same.

    I hate JvD lovers :(

  • Great video. Trance Scene nowadays is full of Noob (Listeners and Producers). JVD is like a god in most trance forums... Good to tell them the truth...

  • @leoleopp: please spread the video out there :) I have the same problem, for almost everyone he is one of the best uplifting producers :(

  • Jo, podobnosti mezi RAMsteradem a Ancipation jsem si všiml hned na prví poslech :\ a toho že jeho remix na Beautiful Things zní jak od Rotha taky... dost divný, když najednou uplifter udělá něco takovýho... :)
