  • 1:15 boat took an arrow to the knee

  • To clear this pronunciation problem up for everyone...Des Moines is closer to Day Moin .... It's french.

  • You forgot the state of Michigan opened up the flood gates on the lake at FULL SPEED!!! When there was ABSOLUTELY no reason to do so. As a matter fo fact the gates have never been opened.

  • Goood video very helpful :D

  • Just a note-FYI it is DEE-Moyne, the s's are silent.

  • @12Daniel7

  • @rturnbull94 I'm thinking the same :S

  • I live halfway between Des Moines Ia. and St. Louis Mo. 1993 flood was much worse than 1973's flood. Was in west quincy mo 10-15 minutes before the levee broke and the levee break at the sny island levee district happened about 300 yards south of my uncles farmhouse. Lot of work before the flood moving equipment to higher ground but we saved it. Don't wish to deal with it again!

  • That was Davenport,Iowa in the first frames. I live on the Mississippi north of there and july 93 was pure hell. It stayed flooded all month.

  • Are you guys from the UK? I'm disappointed you didn't know your french in pronouncing Des Moines. Otherwise good job.

  • We're English, I did know that it was pronounced like that, but we didn't have enough time in the lesson to re-do the take every time that some my mate said something wrong.

  • i remember that.. my mom took me down to the leveys and all i remember is the gas station across the mississipii blew up....

  • Very good video.

However, Des Moines is pronounced (Deh Moine.)The s's are silent :)

  • I did actualy now that, it was my mate who did the voice over, lol. and it was hard enough doing it, with out stoping to correct evry pronounciation mistake. But it still sounds strange.

  • very good!

  • thanks lol, we just had to make it for a geography project
