I bought this knife and put a little Loctite on the screws as many have suggested. I wanted to warn people not to tighten the screws down to hard as they strip out easy. They just scree into the plastic housing/handle. It's kind of a cheapo knife but hey what do you expect from a 30 dollar knife.
The difference between I regular OTF and spring assisted OTF is, that on a regular OTF it's powered by a button/switch making it a full automatic knife and a spring assisted is that you actually have to put pressure on the blade to activate it making it totally legal in all stated unless your city says otherwise. Most officers(and people) are becoming more aware of this law....

So what is the main difference between otf and 'spring assisted' otf? I feel an uneducated officer would be easily confused. The lever/switch thing looks to be attached to the blade and that's good considering California law, Do you have to overcome a decent amount of pressure to open it or is there pressure biasing blade closed at first?
@BladesPro Pretty sure assisted opening knives are banned in Canada, at least for carry anyways. I have dual citizenship but I have visited for at least a year so I can't be sure, however cops have a large amount of authority on this subject and even if the item in question is legal they can still take it from you if they suspect any type of malicious intent, very different from here in the states. I have no doubt they would hassle you if they found you carrying this even if it was legal.
@BladesPro Canada is largely what I like to call a “judgment call” jurisdiction, rather than strictly a country which posts what specifications are legal.
A knife that is intended as a tool and looks reasonably like it's a tool is legal. But “weapon-like” or “fighting” knives are not, regardless of you're actual intent or purpose for carrying it is. And the police generally judge very harshly, however that's very interesting that assisted isn't banned. Thanks for the clarification.
that knife would be awesome but if you read the law at least in the state where i live you can not conceal a knife thats double edged non folding or over 3 inches
@headbanger2727 no its not it is ASSISTED because you directly touch the blade or an attachment to the blade to open instead of pressing a buton to open
i have a smith and wesson otf (tanto) it is first generation, it is realy nice and i can open and close it with one hand also smith and wesson power-glide, also tanto
