  • 2:47 - 2:50 :o

  • @mynameisena that 's because he just jizzed on the crowd

  • Hark at Cedric with his Mars Volta coat and cuppa tea. Cosy as ya like.

  • where this the part 2

  • Come on , why cut the song ? :S

  • Omar would've gone for a full hour if he wasn't stopped. Best TMV solo in my opinion

  • Don't mind me, i'm just going to sip my tea. :p

  • omar is a badass motherfucker on guitar...hes been practicing hella since early tmv years

  • men how is the idiot that cut the las part of the song ,,, i hate him a lot.

dam that part is so good ,,

  • I love this stripped back set up. I saw them in 08 at the height of their "excess" (in terms of people on stage.) This five piece Mars Volta lets the songs breathe and I think they benefit from it.

  • Mars Volta=Punk Rock Pink Floyd. If you disagree then you obviously have never heard a Mars Volta interview

  • Is it me or is Cedric's falsetto range alot bigger than his regular voice range. I have noticed he kinda struggles live, but when he goes in falsetto he fuckin wails his ass off. (excuse me if that sounded retarded, im not very knowledgeable in singing theory)

  • @poopdroop69 Probably because the falsetto is less taxing on his voice, so he can project it a lot more.

  • @poopdroop69

yeah I'm not too sure cos when he has to 'wail' in his modal register sometimes he struggles, but I imagine going that loud and high is really hard for anyone. and yeah he has an amazing falsetto. Bedlam in Goliath, bah he is just a show off

  • BRAVO

  • las hadas y su veneno, los alebrijes la calaca y frida kahlo shure enjoy this tale tale heart!

  • The ONLY complaint i have is that the guitar always sounds soooo thin and weak while the bass is raw and crunchy and the drumming is off the charts. I think Cedric has got ALOT stronger vocally live.

  • @Brizel023 Normally with Omar, I'd feel kinda jipped by what you said. However, the solos sound amazing, and the rest of the song is basically a rhythm section orgasm anyway.

And plus, I don't mind as much when it's Juan Alderete and Thomas Pridgen (though, I prefer Theodore's drumming on this track. Pridgen's style is just a little too...flashy for this song. I love him, though).

  • @Carnane Theodore never played this track. Though his iteration would be so sweet.

  • @joshstanley56 He played it on the album version.

It was his last album before he left.

  • @Carnane You're right. I was just thinking of the live versions with Blake Fleming. (Which are also awesome) They just have great drummers. No one can argue that.

  • @joshstanley56 Oh, most definitely. And Deantoni Parks coming in is fantastic.

His work on Omar's solo stuff is amazing.

  • Omars pants are unzipped.

  • @1:30 it sounds like Cedric said "dont you wana come and take a shit" o_0

  • @2ShaeJose Hahahaha

  • guys carrying guys on their shoulders seems to be the thing to do in belgium......

  • @jumeau1 Some people just need to have a better view of what they're hearing.

  • Why, why, why!? Why is does the video cut just as the encore is coming in!?

  • spanish never sounded that cool in Rock n roll, well maybe brujeria

  • @fabsthevamp Brujeria rules!

  • ジャンパーだせぇぇぇぇぇぇぇwwwww

  • i love seeing mastodon in the background all bobbing their heads

  • 10, 000 of the views are probably because of me. =P

  • aww right when it was getting good

  • Fucking awesome performance. Lucky bastards...

  • Even if the same day Metallica and Mastodon were there, THE MARS VOLTA KICKED ASS

  • Wait! I've seen the ark shake from your pneumonic tongue But the braile that you weave of itself it shall read aloud Yes it will I said, she's falling, she's still falling But no one wants to come She's crawling, she's still crawling On your burial ground Said, she's falling, she's still falling But no one wants to come I said, she's crawling, she's still crawling On your burial
  • Awesome!!

  • sin dudas the mars volta es una de las mejores bandas de este nuevo siglo ;)

  • God look at Pridgen go.

  • I have yet to see a rhythm section as tight as Juan and Thomas... It's fucking unbelieveable. TMV is the most rhythmic innovative band in years

  • HAPPY B-DAY OMAR !!!!

  • i would have sex with pridgen.

  • Omar and his unzipped fly. What a legend!

  • @jimmil10 yeah he just got done fucking your girlfriend

  • agreed

  • omar is the best guitar player ever :D

  • Noooo they cut off the best part!!!

  • What type of guitar is omar using?

  • @fastyen It's a custom Ibanez Jet-King. They make an Omar signiture model, but not in his new orange color.

  • They need to film every one of their shows in HD!!! This is bad ass!!!

  • mars volta rules!

  • It seems like TMV is hit or miss live. Ive only been to one live show which sounded okay, but i've heard horror stories seeing them live (from fans). I think most of the blame goes to the sound engineers running the live mixes. TMV have so many instruments that if you don't know what you are doing with the mix, it will sound like a wall of noise (ala slipknot live). Their cd's always sound the best.

  • @mtnlogistics Interesting comment. Funny that you mention Slipknot too, because they also end up with sound engineers that dont know what they are doing :P

  • Comment removed

  • 4:56 uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhh the mars volta's jacket!

    i want one too!

  • i agree with you one hundred percent

    watch The Mars Volta shreds

  • uffff i love the guitar solo at 4:50 ritmo sabroso¡¡¡¡

  • brann dailor and thomas pridgen in the same place....ORGASM!

  • I preffer The Mars Volta with Pridgen! (Y)

  • @alizeexyloveyou i like Pridgen, but he tends to overpower the songs to the point where the drums become a distraction. just my opinion anyways.

  • @alizeexyloveyou Pridgen is "like, like, like" a beast.

  • @alizeexyloveyou i prefer anything omar rodriguez lopez lol

  • @alizeexyloveyou pridgen live, and theodore in the studio is how i like them.

  • the bass sounds so fucking sweet

  • worst place to cut the song, srsly!

  • brann dailor stood at the side of the stage, fo sho!

  • So many great bands from Texas!! Them being one!!

  • Q grande este Cedric.... Se manda un mate cocido mientras canta!

  • it cut out at my favorite par t:(

  • hey how can i get this performance? this dvd or video or whatever I NEED IT god is amazing the sound the quality the performance

  • it makes me sad that the sync is off in this video

  • YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • gyeah.

  • Dude the solo in this song is so boss...Wait but Thomas is gone from the Mars Volta???

  • @doushe44 Yep, him and Cedric got in a fight, Cedric fired him.

  • Did anyone else notice Omar's fly is open?

  • love this video. you can hear marcel a lot better.

  • plug the merch ceddy

  • fucking love when they break into the "she's falling she's still falling" bit towards the end.

  • This is the Led Zeppelin of our time. These guys are the new wave of music. They are a huge band but still i dont consider them mainstream rock. They arent stupid rock or pop either thats just over produced and fake for the masses. But anyway i still cant figure out why the hell they got rid of Pridgeon he is just nasty as all hell dude! I wonder if the new drummer is as skilled as he is with timing.

  • I think they got rid of Pridgeon because he just takes up too much space.. He's an amazing drummer, but he's very extreme in his playing, which fits a record like "Bedlam" great. But i think Omar is going for a more stripped down sound now

  • That's not why, from what I've read and asked Pridgen himself, Cedric and him got in a dispute about money. Cedric is loud and is the frontman and has more sway then the drummer so after a heated argument Pridgen was fired by Cedric after he said some very hurtful things. Pridgen told me he's still on good terms with Omar and everyone else it's just Cedric that he doesn't like.

  • "pridgen told me"??? So you're friends with pridgen huh? lol people like you are hilarious lol

  • Im sorry BUT OMAR PLAYS Circles around Sebastian fucking bach. Techically and creatively. You have to get into guys like John McLaughlin to get to ppl who are as technical and innovative as omar. The technical part isnt what impresses me with musicians , its the creativity and innovation and the balls to Explore the sound...

  • I wish the Belgian chick at the beginning was receiving my golden shower instead

  • sweet song for sure. the rhythm section is unreal. cedrics voice is cool as hell.

  • Pridgen was amazing.

  • Cedric is definatley one of the strongest rock vocalists I've ever heard. Clearly a guy who knows how to use his voice, and Omar is definatley one my new favourite guitarists, fantastic feel and sound. All fucking brilliant musicians

  • @JxLamdin090 I would say definately at the moment. But Ive heard much stronger and more technically proficient. Sebastion Bach, Bruce Dickinson etc etc

  • Cedric's tone is very skewed by the live recordings usually, which sucks because I know actually being there he sounds great

  • @JxLamdin090 Ikey, Marcel, and Juan feel out the rest of the bands sound amazingly, they're a one guitar band but they sound so full and powerful. I miss Pridgen though, I'm not a fan of their most recent drummer, at least live. Pridgen was their best live drummer so far, this new guy is meh. Maybe his studio work will be better.

  • @BasketClash I definatley agree, like I said they're all fantastic musicians, Juan is one of my biggest influences on bass. But I do quite like their latest drummer, Pridgen was amazing no doubt, but I did feel at times his performance took away from some the other members, like Marcel and Ikey. Still great though, but yeah after watching the like vid of Dave Elitch playing Goliath, I was certainly reasurred; he still has some big shoes to fill given their previous drummers though :)

  • @JxLamdin090 I'm actually a bass player too and have been a huge fan of Juan for the longest time. I do wonder if Dave Elitch will prove better after they put out a new album. I will say some songs like cotopaxi I just don't think he grabs the groove like Pridgen did.

  • @JxLamdin090 couldnt agree with you more. de-loused i stheir best shit hands down tho

  • @JxLamdin090 yup, i say de loused is their best shit though

  • @JxLamdin090 than you have to listen to dream theater ;) i prefer " the counf of tuscany" or "octavarium"

  • @IbanezEDB400Player I've spent some time listening to Dream Theater, great band, I have a lot of respect for what they do, but as much as I like my prog rock I just can't get into them. Maybe I'll give them another chance though!

  • @JxLamdin090 agreed...there is also something to be said for the magnetic stage prescense

  • to the people the dont get the volta ULUCKY your loss im fed up with my m8s telling me there annoying, krap you name it there amazing musicians and i love there music and fro mthis performance im judging great live

  • They are FANTASTIC live. Got to see them in Toronto!

  • call it crazy but i use to hate this band, till one night i came home drunk and coked out i couldnt sleep so i went on the internet and started watching videos (FUKED UP) i found televators and HOLY SHIT it clicked i couldnt discribe the complexity but i loved it, now im a BIG fan....thanks to DRUGS I found the Mars Volta.

  • idiot

  • what's the guy with the laptop doing? Samples?

  • no that's probably a roadie tuning a guitar

  • jon didnt play in bedlam.......DICK

  • to me jon ws boring...pridgen feels everything

  • I'm with you, man.

  • Check out Brann Dailor from Mastodon rockin along lol 0:48 haha awesome.

  • haha yeah, Mastodon and Volta are two of the greatest bands out there

  • thomas iz ok i guezz but john theodore iz way better he made everything from deloused to bedlam so that'z enough said.....when i lived in cali i talked with him and he told me that omar and cedric egoz are two big for their own good and they treat him bad so there you go.......deloused still their best in my opinion before they turned into hipsterz lol

  • muffin

  • @wearesuarez just ok? i mean sure theodore is the man for creating all those amazing drum parts, but come on. you have to give TP more credit than just ok!

  • i guezz maybe i'm juzt comparing him to john.....he'z ok compared to him but on hiz own yez he iz really damn good......it'z uzually too much stuff that he doez and it'z boring but he'z good though

  • lol bedlam was all thomas.

but i agree its all about jon at the end of the day.

  • yeah i went to check it out after i wrote it lol......but john all day

  • I'm pretty sure he's playing this show with a broken hand.

  • 'before they turned into hipsterz'

lol what the hell do you mean?

  • @wearesuarez

    Hipsters?

Or, as you would say; HIPSTERZ.

You sir are the reason the face palm was invented.

  • i love omars reverb before the first main chorus, sounds so good!

  • you can actually hear Marcel or Am I hallucinating?

  • i wonder who managed to cut it at the end like this! i miss my favorite part of Cedric singing

  • This guy sounds like Robert Plant, but he sure as hell acts like Roger Daltrey.

  • thomas pridgen is the fucking man. no homo.

  • Jesus it scared the crap out of me xD

  • Zeppelin from El Paso

  • His singing reminds me of Robert Plant.

  • I wish i knew i how to do that lick at 5:41

  • all you need is fingers and ears.

  • tmv in the rain would be awesome. i've already seen them in the blazing sun.

  • juan is a stud on that bass

  • It sounded so much better right at the end...

  • where do i get that fukin jacket??????

  • Great song, great stage presence. This band is AMAZING live. It's a shame that I didn't see them when they were here in October T_T

BTW @ 0:21 you can see Brann Dailor from Mastodon on the left bobbing his head to the music :D

  • Puedo escuchar a Marcel=)

  • my favorite band, the music is great, and it's awesome because they don't forget their latin roots, and they do it by singing in spanish. GREAT!!

  • this band is absolutely mind-blowing. i wish other people would take the time out to see this band live.

  • wicked rack alert - 1:48

  • @patrickwilliamson29 thats a B cup at best. FAIL

  • tight

  • Man , this is one of my favorites guitar riffs of all time.

  • I hate banter about what music is better than other. Dudes, chill. All music has it's place. Music is meant to be enjoyed , not criticized to hell. No band is better than any other...Well, except that Jonas Bros garbage....i think that musics place is in the dumpster....

  • @the13thmintcar

    miley cyrus sucks

    and justin beiber xD

there is a lot of music that sucks xD

  • @the13thmintcar thank you its just music like it or hate it it's nothing to get angry over they are a truly amazing band instrumentaly and their lyrics are poetic =]

  • @the13thmintcar I disagree. There are definitely bands that rise among the rest. Like Dream Theater or Rush or Muse.

  • easily my favorite band next to metallica and iron maiden and right after them comes nirvana and chili peppers all amazing bands

  • I like Radiohead, Mars Volta, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix they're all brilliant musicians :-)

  • this is incredible. One of the greatest bands currently making music

  • Music isn't necessarily just "sound". It is whatever gives you the goosebumps.. Some people can transcend on very remedial "sounds", so there's got to be more to it than just that.

  • look at thomas shakin his dreads. lol giggin it.

  • Unbelievable solo! Eat your heart out Jimi Hendrix! Long Live TMV!!!

  • great sound, but Hendrix is still miles away.

  • In my humble opinion, these guys are more creative than Hendrix and Zeppelin put together. Most of Jimi's work is just rehashed old blues progressions. Nothing TMV is doing has ever been done before. Move over Zeppelin. TMV is the greatest band of all time.

  • music is sound, Hendrix just had a better sound! Yes, Jimi's work is just rehashed old blues progressions, but I call that doing more with less, then again it's just an opinion.

TMV aint bad but it would have never existed without Zeppelin or Hendrix, and that aint just an opinion.

They have great composing skills but they did not invent a style, let alone change a generation.

WTF man, respect where you come from.

  • Zeppelin wasn't fully respected or understood in their generation. Just as TMV isn't now with you saying they haven't invented a style. Dude, you can't even describe what they do. What is it?? I do love and respect the classics but I also revere those who have come since that have taken their ideas to a whole new level. Its like saying Isaac Newton was a better scientist than Albert Einstein. Just an opinion, but I think they've delved a little further..

  • Zeppelin has 4 albums in the top ten most sold albums of they're era. That gives us an idea of the respect their generation had for them.

TMV could be described as a rock band. To me the last bands to have changed rock is Radiohead with OK Computer and, more recently, TV On The Radio with Dear Science.

When Albert Einstein came up with relativity it would have bin quite stupid to say "Eat your heart out Newton", or "Move over Da Vinci".

Just wanted to point that out : )

  • Not to take anything away from L.Z. but they only have 2 albums in the top 40. Most of those sales were from my generation as I too bought them all on cassette and cd.

Radiohead blows. They didn't change shit for me but I guess its just a matter of perspective. Keep on rockin your predictable trite radio fodder and I'll stick with the truly innovative stuff. Rock on Creep. What the hell are you doin here? You don't belong here! ha

  • truly innovative... please explain yourself. My guess is you don't know jack-fuck-all about music but you're overconfident ass is trying to explain how you could end up saying shit about Hendrix or Zeppelin.

i was happy to find a new band when i listened to this video but your comment made me unappreciative, that's all. Now i see you post Hendrix and L.Z. is "predictable trite radio fodder" and i realize i don't belong here after all.

please refrain yourself from any expression, for it is sad.

  • You're just like cross-town traffic, so hard to get through to you. Dododododododoo. Ha. Truly innovative as in TMV. I would never talk shit about Hendrix and Zeppelin. They WERE the best. I was saying that radiohead is radio b.s., But to each his own. Rock on. TMV rules!

  • what I meant was -explain what did they innovate, the song in this clip basically has 1 chord, the guitar sounds like a guitar, the bass is not doing anything new, drums... i've hear that beat before and the signer... well he sings. The one thing that makes this band amazing is they're musicianship and they're charisma. They have innovated nothing. Then again, I don't see how you could understand music, your a singer!

As per Radiohead, TMV themselves would say they are influenced by them.

  • To counter your critiques, I would say that with TMV, the guitar usually doesn't sound like"guitar"(a Hendrix-like quality), the drumlines are ambitious and inspired(a Zeppelin-like trait), and the vocals are some of the strongest soprano tracks ever recorded. But I guess we could argue til we're blue in the face, sorry me thinking TMV is so great bothers you. You're right, They're mediocre at best and Radiohead changed music. As you were.

  • Still haven't told me whats the innovation. But as you say, we could argue till the end of time, there is no truth when it comes to art, only questions.

  • Fuck yeah, LZ got a lot of shit from those assholes at rolling stone.

They called the first LZ s/t one of the worst albums of all time.

  • yeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaahhh!!!

  • viva mexico gringos imbeciles sin talento.

    FU north america

  • Y viva La Mars Volta.

Por que son los mas chingones.

  • la cagaste. por que no dejas los gringos tranquilos y vive en armonía? Thomas y Ikey son norteamericanos tambien, estas diciendo que ellos tampoco tienen talento -_-

  • cedric hits the high note differently in this version. he almost sounds like an opera singer
