Kate said that Meryl was her least favourite screen actress. She said "click click click" referring to the wheels turning in Streep's head. I feel that she did not like Meryl because she knew Meryl could and inevitably would upstage all other actresses of the time, which she did. Kate knew how "big" a star Meryl would become. I think that K. Hepburn didn't like Streep's acting because it was better than her own.
