The school president said "the subject of WV never came up". Seriously? He never asked the man who told WV Talkline host Hoppy Kerchevel when he stayed at Cincinatti,"what I wanted to happen was for me to be the head coach of WVU because I love this university, this state, and the people of this state"; he never asked that man about the WVU job?WOW.I'm going to read up on KU's strategic planning to see what kind of people run that great place. Can't wait to see u from WV in the Big 12! Semper Fi.
So Huggins legitimately felt bad about leaving k-state, but wvu is his alma mater, his hometown, and dream job. He worked out well in Morgantown just as kstate was left in highly capable hands. I can see this becoming a nice rivalry. See ya next year in the Big 12!
Why are KSU fans so bitter at his departure? In his 1 year there, he brought Bill Walker, Beasley, and a guy named Jacob Pullen who last time I checked I remember seeing play in the Elite8 a week ago.
If he had left to move to a better program, then I would totally understand the anger at taking a chance on the guy, and being used.
But the alma mater is special. The old WVU president didn't want Huggs. Now he's gone, and when Beilein left he knew this might be his only chance to go back.
Bob Huggins is absolutely loved not only in morgantown, but by every wvu fan out there. He's a west virginia boy, he came home, it's that simple, you can't blame the man for doing that.
I never understood why the hell these coaches dont write out clauses in there contract IE I will take K State job as long as you know I would leave for WVU if it comes open. Scumbag.
I agree but there are people who have done things a lot worse than Bobby huggins...I.E. Lane Kiffin, Rich Rod (he left his home to go to a program and he left like an absolute douche, burning files etc.) Bob Huggins did leave and yes I'm sure it was rough for K State fans, but he came to his home town and didn't burn bridges or anything. Also, K State is still a great program because of what Huggins did do in his one year there. K State is where there are probably because of that one year.
I just watched this press conference for the first time. Wow, does it bring up emotions that we here in Morgantown are all too familiar with. First, Belein, then Rodriguez. You folks were at least "leveled with" by Huggins, he didn't pull the garbage Rich Rodriguez has tried. You were lucky to have Huggins and we are pleased to have him now. I understand very well the betrayal that was felt when he left. At least he left a stable of players second to none. I hope we don't draw you in the tourney
Okay then..... I apoligize for the kind words and the compliment to your program. I guess youtube comment boards are for whining and cursing at one another, and not a mature exchange of ideas. My bad.
Because around here we still take people at their word. Guess you can't do that these days, what with all the assholes like you running around. Oh, and we choose not to go to Gay-U because here at KSU, we put an emphasis on academics and have a history of not bringing in criminals to play basketball, something the other major Kansas school can't say. So I guess we were shocked that Huggins' word wasn't worth the crap he took that morning. Guess we're just stupid hicks, eh? Oh well, GO STATE!
@rckchlkcknhawk not bringing criminals into play basketball? you mean like the assistant coach you brought in that got arrested for a DUI and pissed himself in the squad car?
or the two basketball players who stole clothing from Dillards and got caught?
hes commmenting on how its not fair for coach huggins to leave kstate do you think it was fair for coach belien to leave wvu come on dude. your excutive at a university grow up some things in life isn't fair its hometown and its his school he graduated and played at. its probably very likely to say its the only job he would ever leave for so the president needs to grow up you hired one of his assistants he will do just fine.
steve...im not gonna lie...your right...but this video was the day that he quit...he screwed us over, we were so close to losing all our recruits AND our team had 5 seniors...we were sol...then we kept martin and hill and were gonna be fine...i was just posting on what an asshole that gayhawk is.
I concur. How about I justcallyouadouchebag? All of the recruits aside from Bennett have said that they came to Kansas State because of Delonte Hill, not Huggins. So I guess that while KU's players are leaving for the draft, K-State will still be recruiting away. Maybe we'll get a #1 class again next year!
kansas state basketball....LMFAO...who needs scholarship awards? no more # 1 recruiting class for you...and if you really think beasley is going to stay...u dont know shit about college basketball...just like how yall said oj mayo was coming...fuckin faggots...thats why yall lost in football and basketball
LMAO YOUR STUPID AS FUCK...he has already came out and said that he is staying dumb shit...why dont you do some research...sutton says he is going were beasley is going, beasley says that he WILL honor his commitment to kansas state...WAlker already says he is coming to kstate...you my friend dont know shit about college basketball...your the faggot.
I don't feel sorry for Weiser or K-state. They fired their last coach in a broom closet right after a loss in the big 12 tourney. The poor guy had not even made the trip home yet. NO CLASS.
So I guess if Manhattan is a tenth-rate town, that would make Lawrence what, like a last-rate town? And I don't even want speculate what that makes KU! Haha, tool.
Haha, that's funny- KSU is actually recognized nationally as having more than three times the number of major scholarship awards (Rhodes, Truman, Goldwater, Udall, and Marshall) than any other school in Kansas. And, Manhattan wasn't rated the #2 unfriendliest town in the nation towards homeless people like Lawrence was. But don't worry- I guess all the K-State fans can just go 'bury their heads' in our #1 recruiting class and our football team (KU is picked last in the Big 12...again).
I think it's funny everyone in the entire nation knows K-State is a third-rate school in a tenth-rate town, and watch K-State fans find new ways to bury their heads in the sand about it.
The school president said "the subject of WV never came up". Rodriguez gave WVU 2 BCS bowl wins and multiple conference titles.
Huggins gave KSU an NIT appearance and 2 one and done players.
