Hi Monica, thank you for your wonderful step by step videos, your explanations are very clear and easy to understand. I am glad to find your site. Thank you!
Monica, When you mention double embelish , do you mean you have to finish the necklace and then go back and embellish it with for example pearls or chips or can you incorporate it in the spiral as you are doing your basic core and rib?
Great now how do I finish it? I've always used wire and crimp beads and I know that wont work for this and I'm afraid the "cord" will break and my work will be ruined
if you use wildfire or fireline ( .008 ) i prefer, your thread shouldn't break...mine has never yet :) it is thermally bonded beading thread and cannot be pierced by your needle and it is easier to use, not as many tangles as nymo thread! you can find these threads at any craft store and online
@chattownchick "Fireline" is brand name of fishing line. In the spring and summer Walmart sells this in the camping section. Hunting and fishing stores should also carry this brand, but not all do. The white is labeled "crystal" and the gray is labeled "smoke." For 11/0 seed beads - 6LB test is easy to thread a beading needle and go through small beads. For 8/0 beads, 8 and 10 Lb test is thicker and you can use a regular sewing needle. My mom uses fireline because it comes in a 125 yard spool.
which is the best thread to use in this tecnique? thanks!
