Party mode is actually a welcome addition, and so are a few things they took from Rock Band. Even if it's kinda ripping off, all for the better gameplay experience.
This and Expert Plus could definitely drag me into GH5, but otherwise I'm happy with Rock Band for now.
This game looks like it could be fun. I'm still not sold on GH but if I were to try one... this would be it!
In regard to Rock band, it seems as if they have a cigarette business model. Harmonix has addicted the hardcore gamer but wants to do better than that. Rock Band Beatles will attract an older crowd while Rock Band Lego will attract a younger crowd (think Joe Camel Cartoon) If they can successfully get everyone into their game, Rock Band 3 will be a total and complete success.

They're on Part Play mode, which simply just shows your percentage, and then goes onto the next song in your setlist. In quicklyplay, career, etc. You'll still get the trademark "You Rock!!!"

They are not the greatest ever, they didn't revolutionalize music as much as Black Sabbath, Napalm Death, The Who, Rolling Stones. They were all big parts in this great sounding thing we call music. No band really deserves their own game. It's stupid and shows me that they have no where else to go to get more fans. Metallica is good, but do they deserve a game. NOPE!

They're on Part Play mode, which simply just shows your percentage, and then goes onto the next song in your setlist. In quicklyplay, career, etc. You'll still get the trademark "You Rock!!!"

well, I see they kept the open strum for bass. Did they at least fix the calibration so you can go into the negative? Think I'll stick with the Beatles, Lego rock bands and uncharted 2... that alone will put the dent in my wallet!! o_0
