@whostonsaxet does it not work ever? Have you tried it with both USB and an iPod? If the button works as a station preset for radio I would be inclined to think it is the source, but I believe in the menu you can turn on random also.
hey i need your help. I how do you get out of demo mode? I've been following the instruction and set off the demo mode from the initial setup menu. but everytime I restart the car, the HU goes back to demo mode adn erases all my settings. What am I doing wrong?
@pkramses333 If everything resets when you restart the car, then my guess would be that you may have wired the ignition/power wrong. If I remember correctly, there was also something in the manual about if you have 3 or 4 position ignition and how you have to wire it different. Would have to look it up...
@bleakAntiquity I have an amp just for the bass, at 100 Hz and below. If I remember right, all the frequencies above 125 Hz are set to 6 and below that is at -4 or something like that. I also have the loudness set to either low or medium but I would have to double check.
Trust me without LOUD on, you can use very high volume.. If you really want to use Loud, than i suggest you to set Loud on Low. Do not set it to high or Mid, than you get distorted sound at higher volumes..

@BJ72191 If my iPod is dead, I run it from the USB and when its charged I use 3.5mm jack run into the front right underneath the USB port. The RCA's you see on the back are pre-outs that are made to run to an external amplifier. As far as I know they are outputs only.
@AvaN64 No you can't turn them off. Rather than destroy the thing to get rid of the lights, why not set it to the darkest blue? That way you would only see it late at night.
i just got mine, I got 2 12 inch speakers in the back. and i mostly hear just bass, trying to figure out how to get more sound. I messed with the Loudness up to High, but its still kinda low, i dunno that much on the sound settings. any help? or am i looking to upgrade the speakers on my front doors for sound, they are factory ones?
@Devanarestylez Upgrading your door speakers is never a bad idea when you are running stock speakers. Check your EQ settings so that everything is up at 6 from 125Hz through 8kHz. Also make sure that the subwoofer setting is turned on to sub and not full, set at a cutoff of 125Hz, and no bass boost. Let me know if you still need help and I will make a video for you of what my settings are. Did you make sure you plugged your RCA's into the right jacks on the HU as well?

now im just trying to get a hang of the controls.. the annoying thing is the 'demo" feature which i cant get rid of.....and figuring out some other things. guess it just takes time. thanks again.
@Devanarestylez The demo mode is in the main menu. When you have the HU off, push in the center button and hold it til the menu comes up. Demo mode is right in there, about the 2nd or 3rd option if I remember right. If all else fails, check your manual if you have problems cuz that's how I solved a lot of mine.
@BdubzM322 No, the lights change on a consistent basis from one color to the next. The options are to have the buttons one color and the LCD another, have them cycle through the colors in unison, or pick your own custom color and have it stay there.
@gdrvt First make sure that you have set the time in the main setup menu. Then when you are playing music, simply click the "TAG/Clock" button to the right of the "BAND/ESC" button. This will first display the song/radio station you are listening to and then switch to the clock display after the full name has been displayed. It usually takes about 15 to 25 seconds before the time is displayed, but it usually stays there until the next track starts.
@1991MR2T When you remove the USB, the HU turns off right? If so try hitting the back/DISP/SCRL button. If this turns the demo mode off, then go back into the setup menu and double check that DEMO MODE is turned off and that you didn't just hit the back button like I did when I initially set mine up.
@healingduck Hell yeah, this replaced an old Pioneer DEH-9 and the difference is unbelievable. Just be sure to set the crossovers and RCA's correctly or your subs will sound like total crap.

When I unplug the USB it go's back in to demo mode, do you know how to stop that? in the settings we turned the demo off.
