  • grande abraco ao meu professor michel porfirio grande buiu ossssssssssssssssss

  • Kenprimo ...is it hard to get a black belt if you have a knee injury?

  • who is this black gentleman teaching in this video?

  • This gentleman's name is Michel "Buiu" Porfirio.

  • The guy makes a good point that there really is no escape to a tight triangle. Gotta stop it before it's closed up

  • i have been training muay thai for many years and only just started training BJJ.. glad i did.. i had no idea i could get so mashed .. bjj is awesome..

  • you've got the right attitude. its easy to avoid bjj for the sake of your ego.

how long you been doing bjj? im a white belt by the way

  • totally agree...im in the same bout BJJ is amazing, i love Muay Thai but BJ is on a totally different level....although i do miss the stand up striking

  • That is a horribly put together triangle...

  • no offence but if the triangle was on tighter the guy explaining cant talk

  • Best counter to a triangle choke is a good old fashioned wrestling step over. Up on your toes. Stack him. Walk around the head and step over the body. Then when the hold breaks and your head pops out, you just scramble back to your feet. Basically loosens the hold in the same way these guys are showing, but it give you a lot more torque and doesn't require you to fight your opponents legs with your arms.

  • no see when someone does that you are at risk of a scorpion crunch.

  • your method however can be countered by grabbing behind the heel and transitioning to an armbar. (you grab the heel to help rotate your body to the correct angle to get the armbar)

  • Even though 2 people gave you a thumbs down, I agree that the step over is the best escape. You don't waste tons of energy trying to out muscle your opponent.

  • im a white belt in bjj and ive had several ppl do that to me you just put your head to one side and pull them over you, or u can twist your body knocking them on there side, or if they try and walk around you then you just grab there leg, but yes it does somtimes work but i would'nt say its the best counter

  • cork screw works great on traingle chokes

  • Can you say ankle pick...

  • those are for cheap people learn the technique until you can teach it.

  • or a corndog in the butthole!!! haha kidding...

  • Just Crank is neck everyone taps

  • lol or the extremely simple way you can just pick them up and then slam them down hard

  • ricardo arona knows what u mean lol

  • another way is just lean foward to put all impact on his head

  • Yeah and get choked out or possibly have your arm broken. Picking up and slamming is difficult to do, takes a lot of energy and possibly will leave you with something broken.

  • Not really. You turn to the side have fun trying to pick me up. Or I can hook your leg and you fall to the side.

  • It is a cat and mouse game, but generally there are better moves to counter a triangle than trying to pick the guy up and slamming him, newbies and wrestlers may try to dunk someone, if they are in a triangle, but I would say not do it. It is dangerous to slam someone if you are in an armbar or in a triangle.

  • Quinton jackson vs Ricardo Arona.

  • i saw someone in a street fight once try to use a traingle choke and the guy in the choke used his free arm to nail him in the nuts. It may have been dirty but it worked lol, because after that he released the choke as you can imagine. Then again their is not rules in street fighting so I gues you can considering anything goes.

  • using just jiu jitsu (or any martial art exclusively) in a street fight, rarely works.

  • i wouldnt say that

  • Another thing to do is to move the head such that you're looking towards the ceiling. This will put pressure on the triangle lock forcing the opponent to open it.

Great move. Only in need of some English lessons. :-p

  • Maybe all you black belts who are writing comments need to post your video's so we can gain your superior knowledge?

  • That's not the point the point is the technique was not displayed properly, the guy on the ground can reach up and pull the head down before the knee is put on the ribs, and he didn't explain why he put the knee in the ribs, was it to prevent the guy from reaching up to pull the head down? and his grip on the guys thigh could still be broken from pulling the arm to the side. This technique could work but it was not displayed properly

  • @kneeknott you mean keyboard blackbelts

  • what IF the arm is already pulled ?

    no escape for that

plus those leg locks are so weak ....

    bad video

  • It's from before the arm is pulled and the leg locks are weak because it's an instructional video.

  • thanks for show us that but if you know the escape for the kobre please let me know and send me a video please

  • at 1:47 the opponent would change his position and would go for an armbar

  • damn you are really clever

  • What kind of arm bar?

  • i don't really know about that...it looks like the dudes knee is blocking him from getting into position for that armbar + he is tilting down. i dunno maybe he can pull it off.

  • What would you do in No Gi? Just asking

  • You would posture up , and take your free arm, put it on the opponents hip , shuck the hip to the side with your trapped arm while simultaneously pulling your head out and toward your trapped arm and pretty much the same thing happens, you push the hip the the mat, this works particularly easy/well for short stocky guys, unfortunately for me, lol im a triangling fool.

  • that loooks GAY :D

  • u looks gay

  • A good grappler armbar as soon as you grabbed his pant leggings at the knee

  • excellent demo and good explantion, can you send me a link to your site or club, so i can visit

  • Finally those pro bastard are gonna pay when they triagle me...YEA! :D

  • Hey guys , that was great and very well explained, where are you located?

  • Thanks for adding a little more to my game....

    Great explaination too.

  • Thanks for this.

  • Stop saying what he does wrong or yeah but...enjoy the freaking video, the guy is trying to show you an option...of many...geez.ONE OPTION of MANY,so some of you need to relax.

  • With any escape all kinds of stuff can go wrong, but if you just sit there you will pass out. You gotta execute this before he gets it tight.

  • good move like the accent too

  • I like how they address the issue of being open to the Americana when first posting on the opponents leg.

  • it is good both of them have a go at escaping.

  • I love this guy's accent so much. I like him in the "guard pass TRIP" video, adorable. LMAO!

  • thanks guys

  • the escape wasn't world class.if i was in the guys position (blue) i would follow through with the choke,it still would work because of the 3 point pressure

  • Ojay's right it isn't 100 fail proof

  • it'd be hard to keep the pressure going the opposite direction of your leg lock

  • Very cool ken thanks bud :)

  • Nice and like that guy ken that is your buddy is he your black belt above you? If so let me know who he is kk thanks

  • he is not my formal professor, he is a teacher from whom i learned a lot of techniques and worked with a lot, kind of like an adjunct

  • Got to tell ya I have like 5 ways to get out of this but vs my instructor right now BJJ Ricky Lundell he got the Triangle on me, I looked at him went for this Smiled with a chester grin him he then went to counter and wala I was out heh.

  • all the guy has to do to stop him from stacking up on him is straighten his body and contract with his legs.. which would tighten the triangle choke and every time the guy tried to move the choke would move with him

  • Im 103 kgs. I find the best way to escape the triangle is to stack and roll them to either side, followed by side control. It doesnt work once the triangle has been done properly, just like these guys say, but I think my escape is alot faster than this. Stacking naturally spreads the persons legs apart, reducing the choke obviously. This is good though, i just prefer my escape (i was never taught mine, but people do use it at my club)

  • against someone good stacking can lead to you being unconscious, or being swept, i would try the knee escape like he is teaching, i am your same weight, it works great

  • seems simple enough, but any mistake could be capitalized. I guess if you do it perfectly it will be very efective, but as he says, if you don't you can get stuck in an omoplata, arm bar or another triangle.
