Youtube viewers have really poor taste. Why are the most viewed videos listed on this site always the most idiotic? Is this by design or does Youtube really register the collective stupidity of a large cross section of the population? I think it's the former. Youtube lies and manipulates content like any other media outlet. I am unwilling to concede that people are really as dumb as they want me to believe.
@mranenome - From the perspective of a nincompoop that's probably a true statement. I do realize it takes an attention span greater than 30 seconds to follow me. This is by design, as it helps me filter for quality. Unfortunately, Youtube's commenting character limit is not conducive to this aim. Therefore, I end up catching the occasional flak from nitwits and mental midgets. For me, this is a simply a small cost of doing business in this particular medium. Enjoy.

Yes, people are that "attracted to silly things" as is reflected by things like this video. I think you are oversimplifying to classify being "attracted to silly things" as being "dumb". @saluk - Yes, and I bet that the sales figures are astronomical for those "Hang In There" posters depicting a cat dangling from a tree or a clothes line. There is no doubt that people are attracted to silly things, especially when it comes to animals. America's Funniest Home Videos is proof positive. I guess I am not enamored with animals, nor am I easily entertained. That's not to say that I don't have a sense of humor, just that I am unwilling to take on the mindset of a simpleton.
@thetruthisoutthere32 Well, I work in web in seattle - there are a lot of startups here, but cheezburger is one of the most profitable. I can see why you would be so annoyed about being shown something that bores you for 12 whole seconds, especially if you really hate animals and being entertained. However, I do not believe you have to have the mindset of a simpleton to enjoy silly things, even very simple silly things. I've never seen an animal do this, so it's pretty cool even as non-humor.
@saluk - I don't think the cat actually pulled him off the bed with physical force. To me, it appears that the kid went with the momentum because the cat had its claws in his face. The motion came out of the need to mitigate the pain. I would agree that cats are fairly amazing creatures and are full of surprises. I am not annoyed by just this one video. My disgust has more to do with the entire mosaic that is being presented and its aggregate effect. I take issue with the pattern, not the part.
I play the same trick with my cat, except I dangle my ball sac down for her to nip at. Usually we finish with her sucking me off and some anal play.
