  • One of the best intro's ever!!!

This is what music needs now. Simplicity, groove factor, and harmony.

    Hey! WHAT???

  • Wheres the blond girl thats usually in the middle of these? xD

  • Damn, I loved this song as a kid! Everybody I knew on Southern Blvd in the Bx would sing this on Saturday afternoons! Wow, what memories! Thx.

  • Growing up in the very early 70's my brother and used to fight a lot about we watched on Saturday mornings, but we had a standing agreement going. I always got to watch the Globetrotters as long as he got to watch Speed Racer.

  • Saturday mornings...early 70's....CBS

  • Now that's what I liked.

  • cool boy that takes me back

  • I get chills watching this b/c of all the world's landmarks I've been to and never knew that I was watching them over 40 years ago in a cartoon. weird.

  • saw the globetrotters last night sick!!!

  • Now that's what I'm talking about!

  • Oh, jeez.....love this, but the scrawny granny cheerleader had entirely been erased from my memory. Erased, or more likely, very, very heavily suppressed. Now I'll have to do that decade of drugs, alcohol, and skanky women all over again.

  • @rtydhg9q Oh yeah, Granny. I always wondered if she was an actual relative of theirs.

  • Never had the opportunity to see the cartoon, but really dig the theme song. The chorus, whistles, claps, and basketball beat are very catchy and memorable. Very funky bass line indeed! I hope all the business hoo-hah gets reconciled; I'd love to see it.

  • @TG1980 There is also the possibility that the series rights may have reverted back to the Globetrotters (along with the later series, "The Super Globetrotters")

  • Meadowlark Lemon lent his voice to this show

  • check out the fastest dribbler in the world. just go to my my page

  • @TG1980 Sh*t. CBS owns everything don't they? Even shows from originally other networks and ruins it for the rest of us especially if you want a great show but it's rare and whoever is in charge up there hates old programs obviously. Did you know that there's a possibility they will not finish releasing all the episodes of the streets of san francisco due to one episode starring John davidson who sings a few old standards, they don't wanna pay for those songs so stop the DVDs is their move...

  • 7+7=14

  • Coolest opening song ever. The bouncing ball and the whistling is excellent but that bass! just so funky. I loved this cartoon when I was a kid

  • Who wrote this theme? Give that man a Grammy!

  • @GorgeousTube, you asked who wrote this theme. Jeff Barry did. He produced all the Globetrotters music as well.

  • @GorgeousTube That would be the late Hoyt Curtin (1922-2000) who also composed many other cartoon themes produced by Hanna-Barbera.

  • @Scarletspeedster68 Had no idea Hoyt Curtin did the Trooters theme. Jonny Quest was a masterpeice, as was the Jetsons.

  • @Scarletspeedster68 Had no idea Hoyt Curtin did the Trotters theme. His Jonny Quest was a masterpiece, as was the Jetsons theme.

  • @GorgeousTube Jeff Barry.

  • As an aside:

What'd ya think of the basketball bouncing (A *real* ball! No synthesisers!) doing the percussion breaks? Instead of just the drums?

Ennyroad, one of Hanna-Barbera's most underrated and yet BRILLIANT programmes *EVER!*

Sure hope that Warner Brothers gets it together and give us a Harlem DVD compilation...

    Thanx fer this, m8..

  • Has their ever been a white globe trotter?

  • @Paperbagman555 theres been a spanish globetrotter, but thats about it

  • @bigddagenius haha really? lol was he like white spanish? olive, black or caucasian? and was he any good>?

  • @Paperbagman555 puerto rican back in the late 80s early 90s i think. he was probably good, if he made the harlem globetrotters and NOT be black lol

  • I really hate they didn't stay on long.I used to love this and the Archies.

  • Esse desenho nunca passou no Brasil

  • "They don't make 'em like this anymore ;)

  • I remember this coming on on Saturday Mornings. Like Josie and the Pussycats that also premiered that year, there was always a song near the end of the show, usually during a game. My favorite was Cheer Me Up, BTW.

  • When was the series last shown? Which channel?

  • Possibly cartoon network or boomerang at the latest. CBS at the earliest.

  • The only channel I know that was the last to show this was TV Land when they had their own Saturday morning line-up. You can see the old TV Land logo appear at 0:33 on the bottom right.

  • year 1970 :)

  • i remember this cartoon but what was the year

  • Catchy tune. Granny was funny.

  • Great memories! One of my favorite cartoon shows!

  • I remember the Super Globetrotters, but not this.........

  • Did you know that this show was distributed by the V of doom! (Viacom)

  • Wow, did that ever take me back..."HEY! WHAT?" and that "whistling" portion with the ball bouncing around their legs is still lodged deep in my carefree childhood memories.

  • I remember this
