  • the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band is No. 1 and No. 2 is the Best Damn Band in the Land, The Ohio State University Marching Band

  • Now, THIS is a band right here. Best band in college football.

  • Aggie bands rocks, my brother is in it. :D

  • On behalf of the Marching MIZZOU Tigers.......You're the best band in the land!!

  • The freakin' Aggie Band RULES!!!

    Dad of a 2011 Aggie.

  • "Now forming at the north end of Kyle Field, the nationally famous Fightin' Texas Aggie Band."

    So damn proud!

  • HOW THE FUCK DID THEY DO THAT?!?!?

  • @HomieG75 they are Aggies ... that's how ... WHOOOOOOP !!!

  • I am Old Army and SO PROUD that my niece is planning on becoming an AGGIE! Go Madison!

  • I went to Mac Arthur H.S in Aldine District. I marched in the band ( Big Red Marching Machine 1977 - 80) and we prided ourselves as a Military Style Band. Noble Men of Kyle was our signature song too as was Bravura. Watching this video brought back fond memories of my days counter marching to the very steps as The Aggie Band.Who could forget the

" Freeze Step"? It would be nice if anyone still has tape of our marching band back then and post it to You Tube.

  • Gig 'Em!

  • who are the texas aggies? im very confused.

  • Sorry to not fulfill your cookie cutter belief of what a college should be.

Me and many others are damn proud to be an Aggie. And for being the fan of a school that copies A LOT of our great traditions, you (ninetdofanM) sure do talk a lot of smack about things you will never understand.

Just remeber, Imitation is the sincerest of flattery.

  • i understand perfectly that UT is a better institution that a&m, located in a city that actually someone in DC may know about, a better athletic program, and all around nicer people.

  • You state everything as if it was a fact.... idiot

    nicer people? very doubtfull.

Better "athletic program" and "institution" are both debatable and subjects of opinion.

And since when does the city its located in make a difference about the college? I guess those schools in south bend and university park are just jokes too by your standards? In fact most great university are not in major metropolitan areas.

  • everyone outside of the big 12 thinks texas has the nicest fans in the big 12. it is so obvious that texas has a better athletic program and institution because we are the University of Texas.

  • So the University of Penn is a better school than Penn state? etc etc? your logic is horrid.

Everyone inside the big 12 gets too see how horrible the tu fans are every year, i'd be more worried about impressions with them, than teams you've played once or twice.

  • actually everoyone inside the big 12 except for sooners and aggies think we have class. the university of penn does have a better school than penn state because penn is in the ivy leage! texas= ranked 51st in the world a&m is ranked137th in the world.

  • And what ranking is this? I could pull some random numbers out of my ass if you want my rankings?

Furthermore, i could come up with PLENTY of other situations where the University of is not nearly as renowned as other school in the state.

I'll have to upload some of my videos of your so called classy fans (students no less) spitting on and throwing D sized batteries and chunks of ice at me and other aggies.

And you have the nerve to complain about tortillas? lol

  • the ranking is the world university rankings i found on the internet some time ago, the numbers are real. when did they throw batteries at you? truly this must be the unclassy type of students.

  • When McElroy lit tu up in '94, happened to be the last time i attended an A&M vs tu game at lovely DKRMS (pretty sure it had a shorter name then).

i guess its something about the A&M alum (not student) section being set besides the TU student section that makes a good deterrence for aggie fan attendance.

Oh, forgot to mention the tu student starting a fist fight with a 75+ yo man that was upset because his elderly wife was hit with a chunk of ice, originally aimed at me.

  • Like i said i can pull out tons of rankings from many different sites... and its a little pig headish to think that one site is better than the other.

Most rankings i've seen for US schools have texas around 20, with A&M trailing by 10 or so spots, hardly the 100+ that you supposedly found on the internet.

In any case, im tired of arguing with such a stereotypical tu fan. Continue on with your undue sense of superiority, any person with half a brain can see the fallacies in your statement.

  • i like texas not tulsa

  • hahahahahahaha.

  • No other will ever surpass them!

  • gig em

  • That intro was siiiiiiick!

  • gig'em

  • thats sweet

  • WOWOWOWOWOWOWO

  • haha, ultimate guiding

  • best band ever!!!

  • Back in the 80's this was known as "the impossible drill" because it requires two band members to occupy the same space at the same time: They step through each other's stride.

Then, as now, for Texas Aggies, the impossible "just takes a little more."

Matt, from one Old Ag to a future Old Ag, thanks. My eyeballs haven't been that sweaty in a long time.

    Gig 'Em!

  • who are the texas aggies, again?

  • As a Longhorns fan I have to say ya'll beat us every half-time, other than that we're better than you at EVERYTHING! Hook'Em!

  • I hate that televised football games no longer show half-time performances, especially when it's THIS band. Amazing, Spectacular, Wonderful. In person, ALL spectators, both sides, end up standing to watch. Thanks Fight'n Texas Aggie Band members!

  • who are the texas aggies?

  • I am, along with millions of others before me and still to come.

    Who are the Texas Longhorns?

  • everyone outside of college station no who they are because next year they are potential national title contenders while the aggies are barely gonna make a bowl

  • @NintendoFanM Which bowl game are you national title contenders going to again? BAHAHAHAHA!

  • @bigtruckguy3500 To break it down for the retarded, the Aggie band is the best band in the land. They win every halftime they participate in regardless of the football game what happens to occur around their performances.

  • @mkcmg You calling me retarded?

  • @bigtruckguy3500 No - meant to post the comment on another poster's comment. Sorry, no offense intended.

  • im a longhorn but this..............is amazin

  • Made of win

  • "STARTING AT THE NORTH END OF KYLE FIELD THE NATIONALLY FAMOUS FIGHT'N TEXAS AGGIE BAND!!"

    WHOOP!!! thats freakn awsome!!!!!

  • you of course mean now forming at the north end

  • ya thats what i meant.

  • A&M has a damn fine band. This is coming from an OSU student. i'm glad that the big 12 has the best damn band in the land.

  • Best. Formations. Ever. No question. Y'all are the greatest! The 12th Man is behind you all the way!

  • WHOOOP!A&M has never lost a halftime.Period.

  • so why are yalls band as good if not better that the football program?

  • wow...never heard THAT one before...very original

  • The Fighting Texas Aggie Band's formation and sequence is so complex that computers have deemed it "impossible" due to that fact that it would require a person to be in two spots at the same time. Go Aggies!!!

  • The Aggies need a JUMBOTRON too!

  • coming from OU town, the OU band is good, but in a contest with A&M, NO CONTEST. go Aggs.

  • I'm a tea sip, but those guys are amazing! Everyone has respect for that!

  • yeah. You can't talk about bands without bringing Texas A&M up.

  • They're awesome, but we got the "Jumbotron" hahahahaha

  • I'm an OU fan, but if there was a poll of bands (top 25) A&M would be #1 or 2. AMAZING

  • "12th man" at 2:30 was about the coolest thing I have ever seen

  • Awesome!

  • I miss those days...

  • Aggie band rocks.

    No other college band compares

  • no, beat the hell outta ut.

  • BTHO t.u.

Let's get that right at least

  • I miss it so much!!!

    Class of '97, Marla

  • Is Hullabaloo and that other song the only songs they ever play? Never anything new? Don't the bandsters get tired of playing the same-o same-o?

Their marching's wonderful, but I get tired of watching them march to the same tunes all the time.

  • I guess they wouldn't be aggies if they did, hun.

  • it is a bit repetitive...

  • The Aggie band has several CDs/records, one which went platinum...not exactly "same-o"

  • its a tradition

  • As a Buckeye, I think we have TBDBITL. But the Aggies are a close second. I love the military style of marching and dress. Wish more bands would go back to this style.

  • super performance! Wow! Keep up the great work!

  • You think that people don't get chills when they think of history and how people fought and died for this country? When the reminisce about their college days? When they remember friends from years gone by? When...

People are emotional. If you don't like it, then don't watch.

  • Aggies need more excitement in their lives if they spend a majority of their time trolling YouTube comments.

  • pot calling the kettle black...

...but in my case, I have YouTube e-mail me when someone responds to a post of mine.

    Thanks for playing though...

  • they never stop amazing me... i get emotional every time i watch them. the video is beyond amazing and doesn't even give them justice.

  • Just Awesome

  • I must admit, the close interval marching is impressive, but I still prefer the corp. style to the traditional military--but since it is an A&M, it works just fine. My school, LA Tech, is playing Texas A&M on our homecoming game. Have a splendid time beating the mess out of my team. I love those "bulldogs," but... well, we just don't win often *haha*. I am a member of the band, so I have to cheer and support, even though we lose... quite often. ^_^

  • Thanks sorafb. You might send the Aggie Band a letter. They have hundreds like these posted on their walls and I'm sure they'd like to have one more! Good Bull!

  • Gig 'Em Aggies! Whoooooop! I get chills.

  • now THAT is spacing

  • thank you.

  • Then why do high school marching bands have competitions on state and national levels? You're a dumb shit. Thanks for insulting me and everyone of my friends in marching band. Fuck you

  • one person says they would rather see military marching than DCI-style...you call them a "dumbshit" and "Fuck you"...

    Who exactly is being insulting?

  • yeah because he's saying that we do a horrible job at it and that our purpose is only to support our school and football team. Fuck my school's football team we get more trophies in one night then they have in their entire history. My football team is so bad that 2 years ago it was the first time they had won homecoming in 23 years no joke and we had an undefeated season that year in marching band with scores putting us 4th in the state.

  • His point is "I'd rather see a high school do a show like this well, than see them try to emulate the diffucult [sic] DCI stuff and do a horrible job."

Sounds to me like he just thinks this style is better than a DCI performance done badly.

As for the role of a HS band, well, I guess that is in the eye of the beholder. It certainly isn't their only roles.

  • Can't we just appreciate what we see without dragging insults and comparisons into it? I marched with JSU Marching Southerners and Madison Scouts and I think the Aggie band is AWESOME!!

  • The Nationaly Famous Fightin Texas Aggie Band!!!

take a good look they define perfection and greatness they are the best.

  • Who the heck made them nationally famous???

  • the nation

  • It was probably you since you seem to be so obsessed with them.

  • I would guess the people across the U.S. that like them...that would be NATIONALLY famous as opposed to a simply local phenomenon. Moreover, people have returned tickets to A&M away games when they found out the band wouldn't be coming. I think we can agree on those basic points.

  • The Aggie Band is the best military band in the world, period.

  • How so?

  • uhhhh. This is the 21st century, redneck, get with the program. Racist, slavery-encouraging, secessionist rednecks like Jefferson Davis are a disgrace to this country. P.S.- He was never POTUS, retard.

  • He was the President of an organization, not the US. If the South is part of the US, he WAS a President in the US...but not much more than the President of a University or the President of a company

  • God, I miss seeing that live! Gig 'Em, Aggies! Whoooop!

  • Military marching may seem easier on the surface than corps-style,but there is a lot less room for error in military marching. Joe Schmo audience member may not be able to tell if your 'abstract shape' is correct, but he sure as hell knows what a straight line is.While the A&M band deserves a lot of credit for what they do visually, they have no grasp of musical concepts. The school doesn't even offer music as a major.I don't think the Aggies mind.

  • Actually, they do offer a music degree. The music department at Texas A&M began offering a degree in 2001, though most in the band are NOT music majors (I minored in music until I changed that to math during my last semester).

  • i go to atascocita high school and I march military style. and to add what you say there is nothing in the world more embarrasing than when someone has to run across the field because they missed a turn.

  • Which band do you teach, schimank? I'm questioning how good of a music teacher you really are. Sure, Rice is a great school for musical performance, particularly in the orchestral area, but they're not really known for producing quality band directors. Don't worry, though. I know a school right across town from Rice that is at the forefront of instrumental music education.

    Go Coogs.

  • A&M is indeed a military school. It is declared by federal law as a senior military college. In fact read, a comment posted below..."Members of the Cadet Corps have served in every conflict fought by the United States since the Spanish-American War. During World War II, Texas A&M produced 20,229 Aggies who served in combat. Of those, 14,123 Aggies served as officers; more than the combined total of the United States Naval Academy and the United States Military Academy."

  • "a false delusional world"...hmmm...thanks for the double negative there. I believe that would be called "reality"

Calling us "fags" is juvenile and pitiful.

As for your comment about us NOT being a military school, please read 10 USC § 2111(a)...it is a military school. Ignorance is bliss, eh?

  • you like to comment on everything dont you?

  • only the most recent BS from a certain user

  • We need more people that have come into the light, such as Stongbow, that understand that A&M is in fact a FORMER military school.

  • FORMER, according to webster, denotes an action not currently being preformed. Seeing that A&M is still producing more young men in women in officer uniforms than any other college in the nation, I am sure that the ROTC (reserve officer trianing corp) leadership would not agree with your inacurate, umiformed and unwanted opion. But, Thanks for allowing us to correct you.

  • Ok listen here numbnuts, you aren't very smart are ya?West Point produces officers that are in the ARMY only,Texas A&M produces officers for ALL BRANCHES.Not to mention West Point is very elite while Texas A&M is a Public Univ..how many public univ'ies can you name that produce as many men and women who join the military? And one more thing-When it comes to the Aggies and ppl insulting them fans, students, staff etc get a bit testy so plz go back to your doped out community college and stay there.

  • whooooop!!! gig em chibiborg

  • You're a funny guy, cschimank. I don't think you've said one thing correct on here!

  • makes the hair on your neck stand up saw them live once at medowlands, besides that go PSU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I have always believed that every man/woman that walks this earth are totally equal. Not 1 greater than the next...but I have to say...an Aggie edges past the "other" guy. Not the US finest..but the worlds finest!! We salute you Aggies!

  • Forget what anyone else says, aTm has one of the best bands in the country. Aggie fans should be proud. And this is coming from an OSU guy!

  • Coming from someone who goes to A&M, and who has marched in DCI, we're not attempting to be like the Cavaliers. We're not trying to emulate what everyone considers modern. The Aggie Band has only 1 dynamic marking and only marches up and down the field in blocks, but that's how it's suppose to be with real military bands. So all of you out there who have a problem with it, then deal with it. We don't care.

  • You have some issues. Texas A&M IS a miltary school, a "senior military college" at that (look it up on wikipedia or do a google search. It effectively has a military college within a larger university, much like Virginia Tech. Others SMCs include Virginia Tech, The Citadel, Norwich, VMI, and North Georgia.

Ignorance must be bliss. How much did you pay for that education at Rice?

  • Members of the Cadet Corps have served in every conflict fought by the United States since the Spanish-American War. During World War II, Texas A&M produced 20,229 Aggies who served in combat. Of those, 14,123 Aggies served as officers; more than the combined total of the United States Naval Academy and the United States Military Academy. Over 225 Aggies have served as Generals or Flag Officers, while seven former students have been awarded the Medal of Honor. So who is everyone.

  • some people seem to be criticizing A&M's "squares" and such.. they are a MILITARY marching band.. which are few and far between today. Most bands are CORP style bands, they do all the fancy pants circles and flag waving etc. Military style marching bands are unique in their relative rarity, and Texas A&M is famous for its large number of members as well.

  • id like to see any corp marcher attempt to march military style.

  • Wow a HS director saying we suck. Hold on while I wipe my tears from your insult. Please!! A&M's band is one of the best in the nation.

  • Well said!

  • Dude, Rice has one of the best bands in the country. They make fun of the opponents school. It's funny as heck to see them get their butts kicked after they make fun of them.

  • soooooo...

    why exactly are they "good"?

  • This is the best band in the land. Fuck what cshmuck says. She went to rice and you have seen their sorry excuse for a band.

  • ummm schimank, these guys are very good

  • How is marching around in squares and rectangles good? You could at least come up with an abstract shape every now and then.

  • They make some pretty complex figures there as you can see in my other videos as well. It's admirable that they can coordinate their walking so close together and make those crosses without messing up!

  • It's not amazing that they can make crosses without messing up.

Most bands do something exactly the same or similar to the crosses you're talking about

  • show us a video then. I have never seen another band do a 4 way or anything close to as complex. I'm not saying any others don't, but if "most bands" do it, then it shouldn't be hard to find one clip.

  • yeah...still waiting...11 months and counting...

  • all this coming from the mob... heh

  • uhhhh four way cross?????

  • I'm a band director at a high school

  • Then how could you not respect something like A&M's band?

  • and you are the end-all be-all of band Gods? Does Metallica suck because they don't march well?

  • I went to Rice

  • Rice? What district are u guys in? R u guys 1A or six man football?

  • I live in South Texas...believe me...I have.

  • Well I have to ask, what college do you attend?

  • This band sucks so much it shouldn't even be called a band.

Also, aggie1allentown needs to learn when to use quotations.

  • What makes you so qualified to insult A&M's band?

  • I'm not a moron like you and all other aggies.

  • I believe that is a rather gross stereotyping of an entire group of individuals, and as such, I have no choice but to classify you as totally incompetent.

  • Man...have you been reading a dictionary? I've never seen such big words used by an aggie before!

  • Then you must not have talked to many Aggies.

  • just arrogant and elitist?

  • whats the name of the song that they play at first downs?

  • it is a part of the Aggie War Hymn, right after we saw varsity's horns off."

  • It is called the "Wildcat." Every class at A&M has their own wildcat (look it up on wikipedia) and so does the band. It is also part of the War Hymn
