I'm not really an Evanescence fan anymore, but I always thought they just used a choir/solo soprano for the high part in "Whisper." Nice to see it's actually Amy doing it.
I don't know if its still this way, but their live engineer would always have to keep her vocal tracks on hand during tour and put in the mix. Apparently she was the worst when singing and playing piano.
i also didn't think she sung well live by the vids on youtube, including this one... but i just saw her live and was pleasantly completely and utterly surprised :D i actually think her voice has gotten BETTER. no video really captures her live talent.

They don't edit in terms of making her voice better, but almost a lot of their older songs especially have lots of editing - things like in the demos for Bring Me To Life, or the studio version of Sweet Sacrifice there's lots of distortion, so it sounds like her voice is coming through an old radio or something. She's an incredible singer and she doesn't auto-tune or pitch-bend, but they do edit their songs.
No matter what is the note, high or low or even the period of time holding the same note; it doesn't matter, if Amy couldn't sing believe me it wouldn't sound good... but obviously she is one of the best singers... and some people just don't know that some singers can lose the voice... for many different reasons sometimes stress or cause she didn't warm up correctly... And as she said once the FALLEN song were a lot easier than THE OPEN DOOR songs.

I listened to Bring Me to Life and she just sings the same note almost the whole time and she seems to do that with most of her songs. She sticks to one or two notes for a long period and it makes it seem like she can't sing.

Anyone with ears can hear that she is a true treasure. She just needed a couple of days off . No one can sing with that kind of power and beautiful tone every night without proper vocal rest. Anyone who thinks that she "Doesn't perform well live" has no real understanding of what it takes to do what she does night after night on tour. Also there are plenty of examples on albums and youtube of her singing live, and they are great. Thank you Amy. Please keep singing to us.
Amy is talented, but for what cause? She made that band, yet, her voice is from the pitt. She sounds like a poster child for Suiciders to me. Try using American words next time, and not ask about someone's age, and calling people who are a couple of years younger than you children. I know she is not the only soprano or mezzo- soprano. I merely stated that they too can go high, which was my main issue concerning the "nobody can go as high as Amy can!" rubbish. Did Amy have a cold at the end of the open door tour if yes people are so rude because she is human and will get sick and then you'll have stupid people saying she can sing with a cold have you ever heard a person with a cold they can barely breathe or talk let alone sing and they sometimes sound like they swallowed a swimming pool full of water.

Anyone with ears can hear that she is a true treasure. She just needed a couple of days off . No one can sing with that kind of power and beautiful tone every night without proper vocal rest. Anyone who thinks that she "Doesn't perform well live" has no real understanding of what it takes to do what she does night after night on tour. Also there are plenty of examples on albums and youtube of her singing live, and they are great. Thank you Amy. Please keep singing to us.

Amy is talented, but for what cause? She made that band, yet, her voice is from the pitt. She sounds like a poster child for Suiciders to me. That's the music you hear in the backgound when they find a kid or young person who took his or her life, her voice is enticing and talented in a very evil way. Lucifer's granddaughter. I hope she finds the joy of the Lord soon. And then she can shine and sing with uplifting in her voice and not that sad crybaby pitty party voice.
