I think it is kinda mean to get a babies ears pierced. And I know they can take them out later when they get older but they won't want the holes in their ears. If its been longer than six months, the holes do not close! My parents didn't want to get mine pierced when I was a baby because they didn't want me to have to just live with it. Also, babies can't take the pain as well as if you are older. It dosen't really hurt, but it can hurt to babies. So u should wait until ur kid wants them done.

At the hospital where I was born they pierce your ears the day your born (with parents concent). I don't remember a thing about it and in the end I got my second holes done about a year and a half ago. Getting your ear pierced is like getting a tattoo in terms of the person getting it done should actually want it done. What happens if she grows up and decides she doesn't like them. Ear piercings are for life. I know it's small but this is just rediculous.

Both forced piercings AND circumcision are wrong in my opinion. Babies are still persons, and they should have the right to not be mutliated for cosmetic reasons without their informed consent. Are we going to start giving our non=consenting children tattoos and tongue piercings soon?

@ShinyTsubasa I was raised Catholic and this was never a custom in my family or parish. In fact my father thought it was cruel to inflict even a second of unncessary pain on a baby. He always taught that if a girl wants her ears pierced, let her decide when she wants to. I had mine done at 16, hurt like hell and I don't wear earrings at all anymore. This is just plain cruel

i cannot believe she put that cheap alcohol "ear clear" on an open wound....my goodness the STING & burn....ouch!!!! And she's laughing like it's normal. I wont even mention her rubbing her ears with the cotton ball directly after handling the germ filled gun - without changing her gloves!!

Everybody is saying how this is child abuse and how this is so wrong to do to a baby. When, it's all in opinion. At the hospital where I was born they pierce your ears the day your born (with parents concent). I don't remember a thing about it and in the end I got my second holes done about a year and a half ago. In my OPINION, they might cry, but mostly because of being handled so much and pulled and pushed around. They won't even remember a thing. Do y'all remember stuff from when you were 3?

That baby is a human, she can make her own decesions about piercings when shes older trust me, i know a few girls that dont like piercings, and its put the baby through un-necessary pain, whereas if they wanted them when they were older they'd be worth the pain, but not at this age, i think babies are beautiful without piercings, they don't need them (:

Getting your ear pierced is like getting a tattoo in terms of the person getting it done should actually want it done. What happens if she grows up and decides she doesn't like them. Ear piercings are for life. I know it's small but this is just rediculous.

this is just my personal opinion so dont go apeshit on me!
I think that it is a bad idea to peirce a babys ears if shes that young. It did look like it hurt and the parents should wait until the child can decide whether or not they want peircings. it took me a good eight years until my parents thought it was okay. (I wasnt forced or anything, i did it on my own free will.)
