Oh yes that brings back memories! I saw them in Amsterdam, way back. The venue was the 'Mazzo', where all the so-called cool people gathered. Well, those AND a lot of Beat Farmers fan that night! Still, there were soem people with that irritating 'come on, impress me' attitude at first - but halfway in, Country Dick hops off the stage, and sits down on the floor.
"I want everybody to sit down and share this with me."
And, forgetting attitude and all, everyone DID. Great guy. Glad I saw them.
I saw them on my 30th B'day [moon's ago!] Country Dick did a shot and a beer with me during "happy Boy" afterwords we partied with them till 4:30 in the morning!Hmm? I think thats when my wife decided I'd stop going out!
Tried my my damndest too get his hat but he would go for it!! all in all by far the BAST DAMN SHOW I'D EVER SEEN! He is truely missed!!
Got to see the Farmers once in '86, w/Joey on guitar. What a great show! And we chatted beforehand to Dick, who was wandering through the crowd. A very good memory.
I never lived in San Diego and I never saw em. But damn it there's only one Dick, and it's a Country Dick. Bye for now, I'll see ya at the gun sale preacher.
I recorded this the night it was on Club 33,then went straight to Bodies for a "round 2" of a Mojo/Farmer Sat night.About a month ago I gave a copy to all the guys when they were still playing Petes Place.Buddy said he hadn't seen it in 20 years or so.Do we know each other? (I've lived in S.D. all my life)My name is Ward.Anyways,let me know if you want to trade other misc Farmer stuff.And R.I.P. to Dick & Buddy. (In Farmer terms I think it would mean "Rest In Piss" )
