even within peranakan communities in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia, there's subtle differences in intonations... lets celebrate diversity rather than pick on nitty gritty details..
just another example, the teochews/hokkien spoken in S.E Asia is different from Taiwan/Mainland China.

I am starting from zero. My Chor Chor is from Bali.(Peranakan Java)I want my cousins to understand and know our root. Now they are so interested. And I intend to do a research in Bali.
