WRONG, they didn't have or need credentials. There was a permit for macarthur park for a demonstration. A large group of youngsters marched away from the main demonstration and began throwing rocks and bottles at the police. The LAPD then decided to stop the demonstration. Since parks are public property, and municipal police having authority over them, they thus had authority to order the removal of any and all persons.
