If They ever did a Continuation of the Original Battlestar Galactica with the Same Themesm setsm, wardrobe, Lighter in Tone Stories, but not as Ice Cold and Serious as the show that just ended. It would be a Serious Box Office Hit. The Original Galactica would be like a Well Armed Mad Max Vehicle by now under Commmander Apollo and Colonel Starbuck. Lt. Colonel Boomer would be around. Retired Colonel Tigh would be their Adviser. The Pegasus would be out there somwhere. Sheba Too.......

I have to say I much prefer bright blue and red "lasers" in the original series than machine guns and bullets in the 2003 series. It's fun and fantasy- make it look cool :)

@GICking that is your opinion but if i was given the choice between lasers and the Kinetic energy weapons i would pick the kinetic weapons because they are are battle proven throughout the centuries. Lasers while cool need way too much power and time to put even a scratch in armor plating let alone shields of any kind. right now the US Navy is working on Rail-gun technology right now and so far it is looking. and companies we use laser for cutting metal and etching.

@GICking But that being said the original series does have it's Charm and it is very fantasy like action. But being from a younger generation and having grown up with scifi series like Babylon 5, ST. TNG & DS9 which aged alot better than that BSG, TOS in my opinion. The Newer Galactica while not as Fantasy like it does build on to what B5 has started and in my opinion is one a completely different level than most scifi series out and coming out these days. just give the it chance

Well the fact that the makers have a love for the old show and have so many tips to the hat to the original is sometimes missed. The museum contains many items from the orginal, including Cylons, a Viper and even a landram!

yes supernova, but that came from the script! it was not a necessary storyline. they could have written a totally different story, like Richard Hatch (Apollo!) had proposed some years ago. I read it on his website. there are even some Galactica novels by him, but I haven't read them yet.
