While I adore Stephen Fry and have no particular sympathies for Lee Evans, I was aware of both the format of the show and the difference between "talk"/"conversation" and "speech"/"monologue".
Dude i just got really stoned and came back to play the second part of this and freaked out and had no idea why. Then I realized bc his transition into an american accent was seemless. It was so good I didnt' even recognize that he was doing an impression.
Its so funny to see him beside Lee Evans they are like polar opposites, Evans is amazing at physical comedy and Stephen is the master of all things verbal and cerebral. Thanks so much for posting I love Stephen!
I like him interspersing the American accent...it's interesting. I'm occasionally sorry about the way I've been raised to speak my vowels but hearing them from Stephen Fry's mouth is certainly encouraging!
he actually does call ian mckellen serena - i thought that was just mckellen making it up to get a few laughs because it's something people can believe stephen doing
I think it's a brilliantly funny story and having read it, it's fantastic to actually hear him tell it, with the Hungarian accent and everything. I actually happened to watch the Lindsay one before this bit, but now.. oh, that they made him sing right after this! (And no one even impersonated Hugh to say hit it, bitch. :P)
