Nothing wrong will the driving at all, all this guys overtaking is done with perfect clear visibilty ahead and the mk2 golf is a drivers car and thats what this guy is doing! Ah very true, my comment wasn't clear. I should have put "can a standard cossie do that?". I totally agree with you though mate. A suzuki swift would pull quarters in less than 11 secs with enough work done to it.

I think a lot of this is the old Ford/VW rivalry thing. My first car was an '87 XR3i, since then I've got into mk2 golfs. I'd have a mint Series one RST or an XR2 at the drop of a hat. They just seem to be fetching a lot now. Good mk2 GTIs are a grand! :-)

my mate is a ford nut! uses a V6 mondeo and a zetec s fiesta on the road and has an RS turbo which is yet to see the road since he's owned it!
