They were the F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 174th Fighter Wing that were formally stationed at Hancock International Airport in Syracuse NY, since then they have removed the F-16's from that base and replaced them with the unmanned MQ-9 Reapers now on the base... I miss those fighter jets already

There are many instances where F-14's engaged Mig planes, owned and operated by forces supported by Russia and China, which were systematically destroyed without ever losing one of our planes. Iron Eagle- Lame, Afterburn-about the F-16's defects. Top Gun was the single greatest recruiting tool for the Navy. Robotech- Yup the Valkeries were modeled after F-14's. The Falcon is cool, but the Tomcat came from the line of great fighters. VF-103 Jolly Rogers!!!!
