All I can say is "WOW!" I have not seen so many whiners in my life as I was given up for adoption when I was born and was adopted by parents that my adoptive mother took all her frustrations out on me (let's just be nice about it). I re-united with my birth mother and not once did I throw it in her face "why weren't you there all my life?". I am in my mid 40's and still to this day have not found my father but I would just be happy to find him. You all crave this drama in your lives...GROW UP!!
This isn't exactly my style of music, but I always find myself coming back to them, their lyrics always stand up for all the kids that had dysfunctional families, or just shitty childhoods in general. It really hits me, and they always bring up a lot of good points. People see anarchists and wonder "where did their parents go wrong?" but in reality, 99% of the time, it's because their parents were abusive, or not there at all. They capture the horrible process of growing up so perfectly.

They are highlighting americas' problems, Which is in no way the world's. Yes other countrys have problems, but not the same, these kind of problems do directly relate to america, and america only.
@EddThe19th the problems they are highlighting are not just unique to america, some of these problems have spilled into Canada due to close proximity to the nation. Granted the problems in the states are compounded by an economy struggling due to Iraq and several other factors but this is a problem that quite possibly plagues most of the developed world and if the world as a whole continues on this course OUR children's future is bleak regardless of what we do.

I love this. I love that Smile Empty Soul doesn't shy away from the darker side of things like abuse, or pressure, or even molestation. There are sick, twisted things out there and i love the SES has the guts to show it to the world without the sugar-coating.

Love this band. Love their sound and love the fact that they write about things that actually matter in the world. They're underrated, no doubt, but I'm happy they're not a hugely popular band. That tends to spoil most bands, and I don't want these guys to change!

I love this. I love that Smile Empty Soul doesn't shy away from the darker side of things like abuse, or pressure, or even molestation. There are sick, twisted things out there and i love the SES has the guts to show it to the world without the sugar-coating.

Love this band. Love their sound and love the fact that they write about things that actually matter in the world. They're underrated, no doubt, but I'm happy they're not a hugely popular band. That tends to spoil most bands, and I don't want these guys to change!

This band has got some steel balls. Many bands out there only perform mainstream songs that will get them awards. But there's no depth to them. This band isn't afraid to say what is wrong with this world. That now children really are raised by TV sets and that parents really can cause a child to be bad because of their actions. How awesome is that? Smile Empty Soul is a band that is completely unappreciated and under-rated.

The music industry has changed a lot since the 90's, which were the days when bands were free to be themselves and they would still get recognition. Nowadays you need to be like Linkin Park and sell out in order to play in movies such as Transformers. Fortunatelly, we still have bands like SES that won't sell out.
