It's about time this carnival is banned on the grounds of public safety. Even nature rambles where I live have to have a risk assessment and if they are deemed to be a pottential risk to walkers they can't go ahead. So if there is a potential risk to members of the public and participants at this carnival ( and past history shows there is) then surely there are grounds under health and safety for it being stopped. After all the law is supposed to applied 'without fear or favour'.

It's about time this carnival is banned on the grounds of public safety. Even nature rambles where I live have to have a risk assessment and if they are deemed to be a pottential risk to walkers they can't go ahead. So if there is a potential risk to members of the public and participants at this carnival ( and past history shows there is) then surely there are grounds under health and safety for it being stopped. After all the law is supposed to applied 'without fear or favour'.

i see it all the time! 1 incident i can remember it well as we had our soundsystem was on a balcony. when the police needed to raid a building on westbourne pk rd. they just steamed straight into the crowd in riot mode to clear the way. everyone partying was like WTF? so they started to push back. next minute riot squad was on everyone, the following the day, it was hould we shut the carnival down. happens everytime when there it is over policed & they start throwing their weight around.

All I saw were police running about (mainly from behind them) and lots of police shouting and barking orders. I only saw a person crossing the street in a costume. If there WERE 'rioters', why didn't the disgraceful Sky News film them? There is lots of noise (smashing bottles and shouting, but no film of them!
